- A couple of years ago, my wife was hit by a shredded truck tire. It must have been a hell of a wallop. I finally got around to fixing it.
I pulled the front bumper, refit the destroyed sensor, but it still did not work. When it pulled the codes, it said sensors 5 & 6 were grounded to the battery.
I figured that the wiring harness was smashed in the process.
Frankly, I am surprised her airbag did not go off!
I would love to hear any comments or questions below!
Dorman 684-058 Parking Aid Sensor Compatible with Select Chrysler / Dodge / Jeep Models - www.amazon.com...
Mopar 68261975AC Headlight Wiring Harness - this link may go away since it is eBay, but the part number is correct.
www.ebay.com/i...
Did you just bought new sensors of eBay ?
@@ValentynPonomarenko-h8k I don't remember if it was Amazon or eBay, but yes they were not Mopar. I think they may have been Dorman.
@@FatAmericansGuide How did you find what sensor was broken ? Or did you check all one by one ?
@@ValentynPonomarenko-h8k The sensor was physically damaged - when you shook it you could hear the rattle. It was also in the part of the bumper that took the most damage. In my case it was pretty obvious.
problem I having same message, but there is no physical damages and I’m not sure how to detect broken sensor.
@@ValentynPonomarenko-h8k give this a shot... I have not tried it - would be interested to know if this works! th-cam.com/video/NK8uRVH5d04/w-d-xo.html
Great walkthrough, thanks
Are the sensors separate from the wiring harness or all included with the part number? Probably a dumb question
Sensors are all separate. I will try to find a part #.
Here is the link to the Doorman sensor I bought - a.co/d/6TDrDEP
@JDWFolkart awesome, thank you
