2006 L322 Auxiliary LED Boot Lighting
They can't all be winners...
I have been searching for some bright LEDs to act as supplementary back-up lights on my L405. I want them to fit with the minimalist tail of the Truck.
These were not bright enough for that, were too cheap to send back and I had the wire laying around.
I added these to the existing 'Boot Light'.
As you can see - I figured out how to do Fast Forward on my Video Software.

HELP Range Rover (2002-2009)L322 Key won't turn?!?!?

A common problem withe the early/mid Ranger Rover L322's was a steering column locking module that registered a signal from the stalk to the key barrel, allowing it to turn. When the little motor in the module gets tired , and the grease gets old and sticky, column lock no longer registers and the key will not turn. This prevents you from starting the truck. There is a temp fix whereby you pull...

Great video. I'm starting to get Rover curious and this was pretty informative. Any opinion on LR3s?
Rodney - thanks for the comment! I have little or no experience with the LR3/LR4s - Do you subscribe to LRTime on here(www.youtube.com/@Vera_and_Christian)? They are "Disco 3 and 4" aficionados. In Europe, I believe our LR3/4 is their Disco 3/4. I have a buddy up the hill who bought an LR4 for his daughter. I can see if I can get it and take it on a drive. Less luxurious, but many of the same engines and components.
Texted my buddy. Happy to let me do a review, but his daughter is a camp counselor and won't be home until mid-July. But keep an eye out for the video by the end of July hopefully
Thanks for your time to share your experience in renge rover
Thanks for the kind words, I appreciate you watching until the end! Let me know if there is other things you would like to see.
What major thing you have done for this engine?
Over the past 11 years really I have spent more on the suspension than the engine. When my daughter was driving it we had to replace some coolant line that looked like an octopus. Of course they bought Range Rover brand. It seems like it was about $900. The biggest expense that I can recall was the air conditioning compressor. I also had to replace a fuel pump and starters and alternators. That was before I figured out the ground (earth) strap was bad.
Pretty impressive how many miles you have managed to clock. Do you have a code reader? Curious if you did the paddle install yourself and how often your dash lights up.
Thanks for the kind words. I do have the GAP IID (Gen2 I believe - Purchased July 2016) I think they pay for themselves in no time. I did the paddle shifters myself - it is not a hard install. the worst part is getting the airbag off. I think I filmed some of it... just not sure where I saved the footage?!?!? After 11 years of tinkering and swapping this part and that - I really don't have many issues. Back in probably Feb or Mar, i was chasing a vacuum leak. Ended up replacing the intake seals and the rocker cover gaskets - big job, but 'while I was in there' also did spark plugs and injectors. The TPMS is on the fritz - but I used the GAP to disable it. One of these days I will take it by Discount tire, get the sensors refreshed and turn it back on. Glad you liked the video - thanks for watching!
great video, love the l322! thanks for taking the time to share.
Great truck! They're like meth... Don't try them once unless you want a lifetime habit! 😁
Great video. Note that the wires on the tailgate are not to support the weight on the tailgate - that's what the hinges are for. The wires are simply to retract the tailgate using the motors in each rear quarter panel. They take no load.
I got a certified letter from my hinges asking me to quit sitting on the tailgate 😞

It is not an all ya gotta do - but the full thread is found here: www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic65388.html You have to find an old spinny knob to scavenge the male connector off the bottom - build a pigtail tp the flat 10 pin female connector for the L494. Hi! after you refill the adblue, any action should be done to remove the error from the panle? first time having RR and first time facing the ADBLUE and long trip is planned over the weekend.
Which error did you get? If you have a GAP IID you can remove the faults. Without a GAP it *should* reset itself after about 30 miles and a couple of key cycles. Note that this is based on my experience. I don't want you to get stranded. Can you drive it around the house some before the big trip?
how do we 'measure' or know the remaining def level without a gap tool and if the service menu is inaccurate? Last month it suddenly ran low and give me 250miles warning even though the service menu said ~4k DEF left....
I don't have a great answer on that. I will see what I can find. I'm not saying that the sensors are completely wrong, I just think they throw red herring errors. Rather than saying DEF low... It says Quality error. If you look in the service menu and it has 7500 miles on DEF, I think you are fine. I will fill mine when I get home and report the mileage back. 'They' say to not overfill the DEF, but I have not had a problem with it overfilled. I say fill it to the brim!
Re-read that on the laptop (I don't do well on the phone). That is quite a discrepancy - you may have a different issue. I think that my service menu saying (right now) 6997 miles to Empty DEF is correct - or close to it. GAP IID says Overfilled - remove 3L and test again. When I was getting the DEF Quality issue the Service menu and the warning miles were counting down together. I just think that the DEF Quality Issue 250miles is the incorrect message. It could possibly be a message to scare you into taking it to the dealer... Friend of mine, his 2016 makes a bong he doesn't recognize and it is booked to the Indy - it's nice to have rich friends... I would recommend filling it until it bubbles out the top of the fill neck. That may take some doing - they appear to get airlocked quite a bit. I don't know if the fill level is detected ultrasonically or if it is a physical float sensor. If it is ultrasonic and you had an air bubble - it could have been reading the liquid level on top of the air bubble, whereas the nozzle wasn't getting head pressure... complete guess. Sorry I don't have a better answer.
@@JDWFolkart yes thanks for your reply. i have been to dealer and shops lots of times the past 2 years due to the quality countdown. the dealer said it was not really a 'quality' thing, which we all know. dealer said it is either too low or the computer sending the def is wrong (too fast or too slow, while too fast can create problems more). later last year, i stopped going to dealer (they told me their diesel mechanic left or maybe they dont want to deal with this anymore, IN forwayne) and i started to go to a shop much closer to me. eg, last week shop said the countdown last time was due to 'completely empty def tank'. it was a easy and relatively cheap fix. so i wonder how i can measure it using my hand as i dont trust service menu 100% now lol .. i read from forum before, like you said, the sensor is ultrasonic can measure bubbles, so now i will keep adding 0.5gal every 2 weeks.. also the engine light keeps popping on, i need to check it and i think its the stupid EGR flow low again.... i will try to reset it but if not working, i dont care as long as theres no countdown....are you in IN too?
Atlanta GA. My advice would be to get a couple of the screw on bottles and take your time. On the second bottle I removed it about 2 or 3 times, let it settle and then it took more. From what you spent at the dealer, I think a GAP IID would be a good investment. I want to say $575 for 1VIN. In theory you should get 500 miles per liter. If you're going through double that, you may have a bad nozzle. Have you tried cleaning it? 30 min job on Ramps. Also a lot of great info on fullfatrr.com and Facebook groups.
@@JDWFolkart good advice, last time i cleaned it was in 2022 Oct, i will take a look at nozzle too... that time the dealer replaced the nozzle while i was on a trip in Wisconsin and stranded... ripped off lol
going to wallerd out mine tomorrow, thanks! don't worry, i grew up in TX and appreciate what that means :)
Just use a funnel
Heeeyyyy!! A comment! I love it - thank you. Have you tried the 2.5 gal jug in a box with a funnel? The even make DEF funnels that are light blue, but you are lifting a 20+ LB thing at an odd angle. On mine it only took a trickle and I ended up spilling that nasty stuff all down the front fender (wing?). of the 2.5Gal, I bet 2ish made it in with the funnel. For me - $15 is well worth the price of the (now reusable) apparatus. Thanks again for weighing in! - JDW
@@JDWFolkart yes. I use a jug and a funnel so i can make sure i don't overfil.
@@gavinvale2865 for me - overfill has worked out much better than letting it run low. I don't think that .38 L is overfilled greatly. Thanks again for watching.

DUDE! SUPER THANKS for posting this video!!!! And to think this was 4 YEARS AGO...... Content wasn't the easiest to find, but so glad my "extensive" internet search found this buried on TH-cam, b/c my previous TH-cam exclusive searches got me in the haystack, but far from the needle buried within. Upgraded the lights on my 2002 Ford Explorer Sport Trac from halogen bulbs to the new LED standards, which triggered my Turn Signals into "hyper-flash" mode. I started the quest using other posted references and clues until I hit the proverbial roadblock and stopped to avoid tearing up something in frustration. Your post put me dead on target: 1.) Significant design change in this model year; while the fuse panel is in the cabin, the main fuse relay box sits under the hood in the engine bay and then there's this column of relays you point out in your video. 2.) Ford made zero mention in the owner's manual about where the turn signal relay is positioned or how to identify it. 3.) I stopped when preliminary search @ fuse boxes yielded nothing and I couldn't remove the panel under the steering column due to the hood release mounts - which I see you'd already exhausted. 4.) Others mentioned the clicking sound resonated in the area you mentioned, but I couldn't figure out how to remove the cover to access it. 5.) Hunted the Internet/TH-cam a 4th time and stumbled across your video and it all made sense Literally a 5 min repair/replacement, where I'd already spent a half hour/45mins trying to find it + re-watching non applicable videos.... Nothing like have the right tools for a job AND knowing what you're doing. I'm far from a mechanical wiz and frequently struggle with "easy" jobs. So glad this was much easier than the typical 10min TH-cam video that literally takes 4+ hours (a day +) for a novice to perform. Fumbled my way thru several of those rather complex installs; door window lift motor/frame assembly, chassis/cabin bushings, etc... Replacing the relay was/is a much simpler SOLUTION than installing the LED resistors at each turn signal light. Lifesaver for this novice mechanic! Subscribed to your channel with hopes you have more tips & content to share on this vehicle.
Is that also for a 2001 Ford Explorer sport
