UPDATE: This tripod has still been great for me with its versatility, but if you’re looking for a professional, rugged tripod that will last a really long time, I wouldn’t recommend this tripod. I’ve had some problems with some screws in the ball head (specifically the one that holds the quick release onto the actual ball) coming loose, and it’s definitely not the most sturdy. However, this tripod is still really great for its versatility and price, as long as you aren’t doing anything serious with it. Edit: I’ve had more problems with the ball head. All the problems I’ve had with the tripod have been in the ball head. The ball head can be easily replaced, so if you buy this tripod I recommend buying a new ball head
Thanks for your honest review, I think K&F swiped the leg ratcheting system from iFootage I recently bought their TA6S Gazelle Uprise Tripod for £205 to replace my Manfrotto DSLR tripod which was already very good but I needed a stronger tripod for video gear without having to schlep a full blown video tripod that weighs a ton around with me, this does the job with a GH5 a Ninja V and a small video light on top of a Manfrotto MVH502AH video head without being ridiculously heavy, one of the main reasons I got it is they have a unique head built right into the tripod which has an adjustable ball mount making it a lot easier to level off on uneven ground without having to mess around with the legs, it's the only company that does this that I've come across, and while it costs about twice the price of the K&F it's worth it, cameras you own will come and go but tripods lights and lenses if you save and buy good ones can last you a lifetime, my manfrotto is already 22 years old and still works like new, a tip when you make videos turn the autofocus off and just manually focus it will make your videos look way better. Keep bringing it, Jim in Liverpool
Excellent & descriptive video on the K and F Concept s211 Tripod. It is definitely the most versatile one that I have seen. Thank you for that information.
Since you mostly sit still and put up the thing to beside of your head,,, you can just turn off the auto focus and boom 💥 much smoother overall. Maybe shoot at narrower aperture could help the depth of field.
I have the Geekoto version. It works pretty well for me as a beginner. The quick release extentions on the legs are great. It has a lot of little features for a great price.
I bought the same one a week ago Aug 18 2022. over all it's very good. it would have been K & F has the level on the top & on the side would have been nice,
Hey thanks for this review. I haven't seen any info about the tripod yet saying whether the attachment system is Arca-Swiss compatible. They almost always are but it isn't noted in descriptions, etc. Do you know if it is? Or if not... how easy is it to remove that ballhead completely? I already have a high-quality ballhead that could be used on it if the one that comes with the tripod isn't compatible with Arca-Swiss. (The camera I use has a hand-grip whose entire base is an Arca-Swiss plate-very handy.) Thanks.
Hello, I just looked into it and found an amazon review that says it is arca-swiss compatible. However, I don't have anything that uses arca-swiss so I wouldn't know for sure. The ball head can be easily screwed off though so replacing it shouldn't be an issue. Thanks for watching, glad you liked the review!
@@AnthonyHVids Weirdly, they don't say so outright but it apparently is Arca-Swiss-compatible. And you're right-the head can be replaced. I decided to take a chance and ordered one. It was time to replace my older heftier tripod and as tripods are generally irritating (they share this "feature" with camera bags), I figured: I might as well irritate myself for less money. :) There weren't many left at the site where I placed the order. Looking on the K&F Concept site, I don't see it there now. Looks as if they must have discontinued it. Some reviewers on Amazon and elsewhere have not been entirely thrilled about build quality (leg clamps loosening up, certain screw threads not well machined). So I'm hoping for the best. :-)
Ok, I got the thing and opened the box expecting to have the experience some Amazon reviewers did (shoddy parts, stuff that doesn't fit properly, etc.). Nope. It's all in one piece. I can tell right away that it wouldn't serve you too well in a high wind, and I'm expecting that those clamp locks won't hold up for a long time. But in the short term it'll be ok. And since I find tripods generally irritating, I figured: might as well be irritated by an _inexpensive_ one for a change. :) If it ever needs report I hope they can do it. With this model not being on their web site (that I can find), I wonder if they've discontinued it.
@@mikearst2940 yeah so after using it for a little longer, I have unfortunately noticed some things that get loose, but for me it’s all in the ball head, which can be replaced. I haven’t had any issues in the leg clamps or anything. (Although I can’t tell you if they would hold up after a really long time of heavy use). Also, I just looked at it on Amazon and it says it’s in stock with prime shipping and everything, so I don’t think it’s discontinued, at least on Amazon.
At that price it can't be the world's toughest ballhead, but if I have to I can put an Acratceh ballhead onto it-that's on the other tripod and it's a pretty well machined thing. Btw my wife read the instructions aloud to me while I was setting the thing up for the first time. Now that's some unintentionally hilarious writing.
Dude I think you do a great job filming and building your channel. Thanks for making this video. It was really helpful! One advice: switch to manual focus when filming these talking head video's. It prevents your camera from focus breathing.
Ok first off I was searching for this Tripod and when I hit your intro I was like wow this is legit editing and filming... Then I saw how new of a channel you were and mind blown again. I wish you had a Canadian amazon link to support cause I am totally buying this tripod because of you my friend. They did good to send you the tripod.. I'm just curious though did you ask them or did they contact you?
Thank you so much for the kind support! I’ll find a Canadian link and put it in my description! Also, I reached out to them and they said I could review that tripod.
You could do that and for most cases it would probably be fine, but my problem with that is that the bubble leveler is on the opposite side meaning that it is blocked when you put it that way.
@@AnthonyHVids gotcha. But don't most high end cameras have digital level built into them...? I've never even looked at the bubble on a tripod I've used, because I can do it with the feature built into the camera. And if you're doing it for panning, then you would most likely set the head prior to mounting the camera, so... I understand your point, but there's really no reason you should ever encounter a situation that would require you to mount the camera the way you do... Just my thoughts. To each his own. Gotta do what works for you. Good luck!
@@MH3GL the tripod should be levelled as well as the camera. Especially for any pano shots. You can’t level a tripod using a built in camera level which is why there’s a level on the tripod
@@chrislord9247 sure you can. My camera levels in 3D space - it tells me when I'm level side/side and when I'm level front/back. It's the same thing a bubble level tells you. That's why they put it in your camera - so you don't have to keep looking at the tripod while you're framing your shot.
Or, it could be that, if your camera has steady shot and it's on when your cam is on the pod it will lock up the sensor thinking it's not on the tripod, try shutting off steady shot if you have it.
couldn't understand why my tripod didn't come with instructions - Anyhows, I spent 22 mins and umpteen adverts watching some idiot from Scotland talking absolute jibberish which left me even more confused. Just watched your vid and HEY I GOT IT ;) Great work Anthony
Cool video, thanks! I was curious as to what this model is like compared to previous ones they made almost exactly like it to near a few details like twisting locks for the legs instead of now the clips, and a small extension to get lower to the ground that they had.
With the tripod I got the legs definitely weren’t plastic. But yeah, it definitely hasn’t been perfect and I think that it’s not the best for heavy duty stuff. I’ll probably be doing an update about that.

How awkward is it to use that quick release knob, since it needs to be under the lens if you wish to see the bubble level?
