  • This video is the ultimate starter guide for new / beginner players in Brigandine The Legend of Runersia on the Nintendo Switch. I discuss tips and tricks you should be doing during the first couple of turns in your campaign playthrough. This tutorial / guide is meant for newer players. Advanced players already likely know the content within this video.
The first thing I do when I start my playthrough is to look at the map. I check my borders and count how many border castles I need to defend. This determines how many full armies I need to raise / the number of rune knights. I then plan out my invasion routes and think about implications of where we invade (example - would we then increase the number of rune knights required to defend our bases?). I check multi-classing opportunities. Then, I consolidate troops and move them wherever desired. I never summon monsters during the first turn. Why pay for monster upkeep when they're not needed yet? I ensure to quest every knight who isn't moving. On turn 2, I summon units and finish organizing our units to prepare for battle.
If this guide helped you out, please consider liking the video and subscribing for more content. Good luck!

I played the og on ps1 as a kid, I remember wanting final fantasy but my parents bought me brigandine instead on accident. It ended up being an awesome game, loved sending my knights on quests to see what they would come back with. I remember there being a cheat to unlock the purple country too, but it was too easy since they came with so many high leveled knights. can’t wait to play this version!

No wonder the demo was so hard lol. I did at least send troops to my invading base but I summoned and invaded two bases on my first turn. I did pretty good on my first battle and captured a powerful enemy monster. Second battle I was severely under leveled but in the last 3 turns I stole the base at the cost of many units

Just want to add that I made the mistake of questing ALL of my front line heros on 2nd turn. Big mistake as they don't defend while questing. I was attacked and lost the castle

Very cool. I loved the first one back in the day. Not really into tactics game anymore, but this I think I can still play, I love the strategy and character building aspects. Is there an auto battle or things to help manage your forces? My least favorite part in the old one was how time consuming turns got once you had a large empire to manage.

to be fair there are some advantages to summoning on the first turn. for example, at your capital you have access to unicorns but you may not necessarily have those at all your borders so some teams might end up strapped for healers, so summoning t1 boils down to how you want to handle your team organization logistics.

I'm on season 22 already, got plenty of rune knights at level 20 and up but not that many monsters nor castles (I don't have any mana left), as a result I'm stuck in my own territory unable to win battles because of the higher mana upkeep (30% less hp/mp penalty). Does anyone know how to fix it?

can easily happen. Generally its a good idea to utilize the first three turns moving troops around and optimizing summons. Getting a healer type unit into each of your main defending forces is a good strategy early game. Once you have squads in place on the provinces you need to defend right away, then you can use the training grounds to start getting your lower level knights to at least level 10. Things like the unicorns and low tier support troops you want to include asap, as they wont be getting kill experience so level slowly outside of training grounds. For quests, dont bother with anything except training grounds until you have lvl 10 and the second tier class completed. Quest rewards and % to actually complete it are just too low.
