I like all the Gypsies I've ever met. It's hilarious to me how superstitious they are, though. I'm a part-time hotelier with more than a Decade of time working night audit. One time one of my properties was hosting a group of Gypsy wedding guests. They loved me because I'm like them, a very strange mix of ethnicities & family histories. We had some very interesting, deep conversations. Anyway, I get on at 11pm. It's Midnight & about a dozen of our Gypsie guests, all guys, are quietly playing dominos in my lobby. They play dominos literally the opposite of how you expect a game of dominos to go in the middle of summer & after everyone's had a drink or 2. It was a quiet, serious game, & from what I heard they were talking serious stuff. They were discussing how to set up the newlyweds, like were they already shopping for a home? where? did they want to stay here or live in Europe? would it be rude to their parents if they recommended a new lawyer as their kids' family attorney, because the parents' attorney was old & maybe he wasn't hip to the things young couples deal with, legally speaking. Then, sometime soon after Midnight they stopped their 3 dominos games suddenly. I don't even think anyone said anything to stop it. They simply stopped, all at the same time. They stood up & walked out the front door. I was curious because I've never seen a group of regular people just totally change what they're doing without saying anything. I waited until the last person left & was out of sight & then I walked out, too. Do you know what they did, why they stopped? They stopped their game so that they could start their trucks & trade parking spaces, no shit. These guys literally pulled out their trucks (it was pretty much all trucks but someone was driving a classic Volkswagen Vanagon & it had THE CUTEST lace curtains 😍😍) & swapped parking spaces with the Gypsie parked next to or close to them. I watched them do this & when they all got out & walked past me I didn't even ask why. Like I said, hoteliers are superstitious people. We are caretakers for a place that some people purposely choose to get married in, some people purposely choose to commit suicide in, some people purposely choose to conceive babies in, & some people go legitimately crazy in (especially in the time of COVID) whether voluntarily or involuntarily, so... I get it, even though I don't get it. They all walked back in & went straight to bed. Then, 6AM-ish, ALL the women in their group from the age of 20 to 70 came down, walked out, & walked laps of the hotel parking lot. People seem to associate Gypsies with chaos in a certain sense, like somehow they're unpredictable or they are disrespectful of laws. They're not. They're very organized. They seem unpredictable & mysterious because most people don't understand their culture. I still stuff grape leaves with the ingredients they told me.

Theo, you have got to stay in touch with this man and do future content or another podcast with this man. This guy is golden.
110%. This was amazing, and the chemistry is goldd
I agree! This dude was awesome and should be a returning guest.
@@nuckchorris8528he got every joke and every reference theo made and had more than a few himself. Dude rules.
Absolutely agree - this guy's so genuine and humble could listen to him all day - have him to prepare some stories and then bounce off him about just wacko childhood stuff from growing up poor.
"They are navy seals of complete bullshit" is the funniest way I've heard people describe gypsies lol.
they ant gypies
I live in New England (Maine now) and I have ABSOLUTELY met this guy before! Really cool dude..
Shout out from Belfast!
His parents gave out candy apples every year for Halloween in my hometown (Lawrence MA)! Everyone was always excited to go to their house! They all seemed like such nice people!
I would honestly rather have more guests like this . I find this more entertaining than celebrities
Absolutely 💯
As someone who grew up in a small town, i am so grateful for the carnivals and county fairs every summer.
Now it's all shit...crime, and protests...
I VOTE NO MORE CELEBRITIES. Regular guests only. It’s interesting hearing about other peoples everyday jobs.
Agreed
Most celebrities are idiots with no great insights. No thanks.
How about a round of applause for using everyday correctly? Noice.
For real this was the first episode I've watched of this podcast in like two years (and I like Theo). Tom and Bert literally ruined podcasts for me, they're the fucking worst.
Here here!!!
Calling out Tom Segura in the first 5 min ... As a poor myself I appreciate you representing us well sir🤣
I love when Theo interviews people with jobs 😀
who was unemployed? 😂
@@poindextertunes Real jobs. lol
@@poindextertunes Oh honey. When I was building my business, I would scrub toilets. I would shine shoes. It felt like I was unemployed! No shame in the struggle & life's ups and downs
@@SunnyDallasRealtor Could be wrong, but I think they're implying that scrubbing toilets/shining shoes meets the criteria for "real work," whereas someone like a comedian doesn't have a real job.
😂😂😂😂😂
“We need freak shows, that way these freaks can make a living” 😂😂😂
That was hilarious. It sounds bad, but he means it in a good way. 😆
😂😂not wrong tho what else are they supposed to do
It’s a fact.
I’ve always thought about that
What a great way for them to get paid , especially back then .
@@Aaron-fl2ivit doesn't sound bad!
Beats the hell outta working the register at McDonald's
1:20 Carny Mitch coming out of the bull pen throwing heat!!❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥
I test the intelligence of people at my work by REFERENCING Tom S.
PS if I ever had my dream girl come up to me and go ‘have you ever heard of this comedian called Tom Segura?’ I am proposing to her on the spot.
@frankperdue6585 this has gotta be the cringiest shit I've read today
@@frankperdue6585 I do the same thing. I got rid of my washcloth so I'm not like those poors. I dumped one girl because I saw she had a washcloth in her bathroom. I definitely need me a girl that's a fan of Tom, she can only sleep with me and Tom Segura.
This guy needs to be a regular guest or at least call back and check in regularly. This was a great episode! They had some witty funny banter this shit had me cracking up listening in the office.
This guy's personality is so humble and sweet like candy apples and cotton candy
That's how a carney reels you in.
that guy is my best friend! He's the best person in the world.
@@traviskitchens9790 lol shhhI was also a carnie with him for 11 years lol
Agreed. He's more important than the president
I was coming to say that he is indeed a wonderful human being. I love Uncle Mitch.
No fucking way I used to play Harmonica at music festivals with trp and Mitch was always there with his booth mitches munchies. He was technically our band manager lol Cool to see this!
So you didn't know he was on and you just checked out the latest Theo podcast and it happened to be a random carny you know? What a trip!
The Carny helping Theo read is the funniest part of this whole thing hahaha, great episode.
This is by far the best/ funniest pod Theo has done.
Real people being funnier than comedians is a special category of awesome.
Ahhh Uncle Mitch love you so much! Known Mitch for years, a truly fantastic human being!
Did he front a band called Project Unconfined? I grew up in Lawrence MA in the 90's and his name sounds crazy familiar.
@@litmixdeluxe9377I read in another comment that he used to promote concerts.
We need a carny podcast. Mitch talking to people and getting those stories out would be amazing. I have some crazy carny stories and I only went to the fair once a year lol
@litmixdeluxe9377 he didn't front it that was Eddie romano but he managed them yes!!
@@TanyaQueen182 T.y. I heard his name and my brain tried to connect it to the band lol. Went to a few shows, probably met him briefly back then.
2 hours with a carny? Theo must be in heaven
or hell
Theo and this carny will be up in heaven with Billy Conforto some day. Praise God gang!
Man I still am just mildly shocked I thought this was somebody called "A. Carny"
@@garyjohnston6921Art Carney? (An actual person)
This dude was so chill 😂 love this guy just vibing with Theo
Starting a petition to have Mitch back on next year.
The guy working the gravitron showing his junk was the funniest thing I've heard in a long time.
I don't know if it was a bit or not but the way Theo turned it into a bit was comic gold
"guy was showing us his ween to November rain"😂
Billy Squire ‘Stroke me’
Kiss ‘Lick it up’
Whitesnake ‘Slide it in’
Lynrd Skynrd ‘Free Bird’
There are just SO many great ‘80’s themed perverted flasher ride-operator carnie’ songs to choose from!.. Lol.

"IT WAS KINDA NICE WHEN THEY WOULD PLAY SOME OF THE BALLADS"
Some people don’t realize that Theo is in therapy path and so I see this as his inner child being curious which is one the main steps in healing .. love this
Love these regular people interviews, so much easier to connect with than influencers.
We love Mitch in New England and he's always a joy to have around while working an event!
Mitch has saved my life with his meat on a stick. A true savior to the New England festival crowd
Theo has a special skill of vibing with just about anyone or at least asking interesting enough questions to keep an introspective and curious dialogue going.
Theo and normal people is the reason why this is the best podcast out
I fucking love the episodes where you talk to a regular person about their job, wish it was the only kind of guest you had sometimes tbh!
Having a carny and a trauma expert one right after another is…. We’ll call it wholesome 😂

The Carny lit up Tom Segura😂 This is better than any of Tom’s recent podcasts
I hope this episode gets more views than Tom’s episode haha
Bro, Tom Segura podcasts are so fucking dreadful and overly produced it's so weird it's like if a fed tried to make a podcast
@@ghstletter5978 Omg love this analogy🤣🤣I can't listen to Tom's podcasts at all
It's funny this guy mentioned all the fairs and carnivals that are around in Massachusetts growing up. It's just funny hearing about behind the scenes because I always thought the people are a little bit weird but now putting a face to it. This guy's a really nice
I said the same thing - started listening and I’m like damn I live in Peabody and have been going to the Topsfield fair and getting hit over the head by the fiesta show carnies since I was just a little shaver. He’s from Lawrence so it was definitely cool to see a New England guy on the show
the tom segura comment off the rip had me hooked in for the entire episode immediately 😂😂 this dudes awesome very solid episode
Hearing someone talk about the Topsfield fair on theo's podcast has made me so happy. Shoutout to dan the candy man.
Ayyye and that he’s from Lawrence is trippy to see on Theo
This was one of the better episodes in ages. The carny is made for podcasts.
Theo is so good at interviewing everyone and anyone. This is so good
You can tell you have a top tier podcast host when they can have a heartfelt conversation about candy apples
Carny- “there were a lot of fights and girls”
Theo- “so, like…did y’all ever fight or like, get girls and stuff?”
😂😂😂
This interview ROCKS! This dude is intelligent and has a wealth of knowledge, history, and personality that you just don't see often these days.
I traveled with a carnival back in 81. So many memories brought back with this excellent interview. Thanks!!!
Shoutout to Uncle Mitch and the Fam for busting their behinds time after time to keep everyone fed and happy at the fests❤
"Pinchin ass and taking names" had me hollering laughing in public
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Mitch was a 10/10 guest! Interesting stories and a great sense of humor. Theo, you need more guests like this!
This is the most well spoken semi approachable carny I’ve ever seen!
The Tom call out was hilarious
"Runnin on that spare gennie, be keepin the lights on bro" 😂... he reminds me of a guy that you'd randomly meet somewhere, end up in a super long convo about anything and instantly becomes a trustworthy friend like you've known each other for 20 years.. good dude
Yh! he has sorta really good hippy vibes and isn't afraid to joke about pretty much anything i love it ngl!
You can tell that this guy has been around a multitude of different types of people. Theo doesn’t trip him up one time he just goes with the flow and everything that Theo says, and then he starts talking and joking like Theo mentioning that you can win that kid even as a prize today lol I’ve never seen anybody hang with Theo’scomedic methodology better
AGREED!
This episode is ridiculous. It's too much, I'm dying! 😂
I've shared this episode with over 20 of my friends. ❤
A carny explaining cotton candy and then correcting theo’s pronunciation of “minute” has me rolling right now 😂
Theo knows how to play his character for sure hahaha

Theo having been fully electrocuted by a carnival ride makes perfect sense. Explains everything actually.
It really does 😂😂 “completing the circuit”
The route Theo's mind traverses with his guests is always unexpected. He takes the back & side roads, the scenic route, but you get there uniquely entertained.
