"[Our ancestors] got 40 acres and a mule for a minute. Let us get it for a lifetime"

How do we stay in the fight for justice and equality, despite all the forces working to discourage us? Harvard Kennedy School professor Cornell William Brooks cited the example of Harriet Tubman during a discussion with Emancipator editor-in-chief Jamil Smith about the future of reparations in Boston and elsewhere.
“Hope is not empirically demonstrated,” said Brooks, the former NAACP president/CEO. “It is morally chosen.”
