Hi! Thanks for the tutorial, is there any way to render masks in the progressive renderer instead of bucket, or how to speed up the bucket renderer to quickly render only masks (for example, maybe there is an option to remove the beauty pass and render only masks)? Thanks!
Cryptomattes and Puzzlemattes both require bucket mode. They dont render in progressive mode unfortunately. If you want to just render the Cryptomatte, you can do that by unchecking the "Regular Image" in the Render Settings
@@benfryc Yes, but by unchecking the box rendering is still going on, that is, it is rendered, but it is not saved :) And I meant to render only the cryptomet and nothing but it, that is, quickly kick out only the masks, I do not know whether it is possible at all :)
@@ouracidhouse Ah. So the way I understand it, there isn't a way to just render the cryptomatte. It still needs to do all the other calculations for a scene. So there isn't a way to just render it.
Hi, I have a problem. When I use the cryptomatte inside After effects, the mask creates a black outline around the masked object, is there any solution for this?
It would be helpful if they didn't skip the saving of files, etc. Because I'm lost about what to do after I save the crytomatte settings.. I'm not sure how to get my multipass files, or where to find them, or how to open them... no idea at all.
In C4D everything saves exactly where you tell it to. In the Render Settings menu, on the left go to Save then in both the Regular Image and Multi-Pass Image areas define where on your computer you would like to save the rendered files. This will carry over to any Cryptomatte or AOVs you have setup. Hope that helps.

So how can you make it so the transparent material will still let the text show throw it? Woudl tha have to be somehting with z oath and UV pass?
