  • Sorry for the back to back technical videos but I figured this topic may be useful to some of you. In this video I cover how to extract the Blender passes you have exported in a multilayer openexr format to use them for compositing in After effects by using the Extractor effect. Lots more actually fun tutorials coming soon lol!

    thank you for this info... there seems to be two methods on youtube.. one to use the OpenColorIO linking to the Blender IO and setting the Linear & Filmic settings. Just wondering what is the better standard.. I am using the OpenColorIO for now.. but not fully understanding the process. With this method we disable Linear for project setting.. otherwise we would do it twice with the IO effect.

    love it man just wish you can do a more in depth in the types of modes for different passes, i know there is a check box setting when you import .exr files in AE that it makes comps and sheets for you

      @@LightArchitect when you select the first exr file there is a option that says openEXR sequence and check that box and also creat compositions and it creates it! also can do a full in depth on modes and stuff you need for after effects? i need it because i don’t know what to do when it comes to compositing them haha

    More a hypothetical question but if you're typing in 23.976 when the actual frame rate is 23.9766666666666 reccuring.
    With that being said wouldn't the footage go out of sync eventually? Probably not because it's so small but still curious.

    IMO, you only handled part 2 of this workflow. I'm stuck on part one: how to save to OpenEXR from BL in the first place. Please create a tut on that please. All my EXRs turn out black or blown out.

    Hello, I was not able to find an email for you guys so hopefully you see this. I am somewhat of a novice, I just upgraded to 2.93 & realized that all my addons from you guys (city builder3d, cablecam) are installed on the older version. It's been quite some time since i've accessed the download link and can no longer locate the zip files I initially downloaded. Is there any way to transfer or migrate my previously purchased addons into the new Blender? It would be a huge help. Thanks!

    • @LightArchitect
      @LightArchitect  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi DW McPherson,
      The easiest way to re-download your files is to log on to your Blendermarket account and go to the product download page. Or did you buy through a guest account?

    • @derekwaters8683
      @derekwaters8683 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@LightArchitect I do believe I purchased them through a guest account, unfortunately. I realize now that this was a mistake! However, your response for some reason reminded me to search in my email to see if I was sent a receipt, and I found all the download links there. Thanks for getting back to me! Keep up the great work with the assets/addons.

    For people who has its "Assign Profile" greyed out. You have to do this in your Project Setters > Color > Working Space > Choose sRGB. Then check "Linearize Workspace"
