Damn!!!!! the voice on ya there laddie!! damn!! im very impressed, you are deffo being added to a few playlists, cheers for this brilliant cover, one of the Bosses best songs!
Lovely Luke. Very nice cover of a tops song. To anyone in northern NSW making wedding plans or planning any event; Luke Vassella played at our wedding and was absolutely superb. He is intuitive and responsive. So glad we picked Luke V for our wedding.
This was totally amazing. You were very true to the original, while at the same time putting your own spin on it. This is my fav springsteen song, and I applaud you mate, outstanding
Luke! Great cover fella. Didn't think this would work too well as a guitar solo (especially after hearing some other attempts at it) but you've pulled it off. I think the rhythm works really well and suits the song. Do you mind me asking what type of stompbox you use (is it home made?), how do you mic that and the tambourine up and what effects/eq do you apply to them (gonna experiment myself!)? Anyway, you've got a new fan over in the United Kingdom, keep playing man.... Best wishes, Bob :)
@JohnLymanPhotos Hi John, was just explaining to @surfercook1 I'm playing this song with the capo on the second fret, but not covering the bottom E string. So I'm playing a B chord(A shape), then hitting the bottom string for the chord change, then fretting the G# and F# to make the other chords in the song. does that help?
@ron66be I'll be including this song on my next album(will be ready mid 2011). Have some similar songs on my current album 'All those paper planes' available on itunes
Lovely version Luke. First heard it about 3yrs ago. Back for more! Do you double track the guitar or is simply solo guitar, percussion and a touch of delay/echo? Best wishes, rob :)
Thanks, good idea, even the '12string-sound" that I hear a bit... guess you have a little effect on you guitar... Anyway, the more I listen to your version the better it gets :-)
OPINION. My opinion. No no no no no and a little bit of french .... non There's a reason for people not being able to do Springsteen covers. You lost the unforgettable melody. I heard it with violins once, it was amazing. That was someone taking it to the next level. His voice has so much passion in his versions (even live), you know he means it. I just don't believe you feel the same about the lyrics Nice try taking it to a different place, but sounds a little too Jay Semko - Due South Again. My opinion
This cover is right on the money!!..
This is hands down my favorite cover of any song ever. I've been listening to it for over 8 years now!
Concordo plenamente com você, só conheci agora,e estou encantada.
I made this comment 4 years ago and here I am still LOVING this cover. Good music (and good covers) are timeless. God bless you, Luke!

This does sound great Luke. Nice to come back for a listen now and again.
Absolutely brilliant :)
Hi, yeah it's an A harp. I've got a capo on the 2nd fret covering all but the low E string. Chords are B, E, G#min, F#
cheers, Luke

Hi Rob, better late reply than never... sorry. Yes it's a bigfootstompbox.com/ just a room mic on the tambourine with some compression
I couldn't agree more. Bruce's songs are hard to cover, but, man, you've nailed it, Luke. Love your guitar rhythm work and vocal.

Just a question, Luke: Standard-Tuning? I can' t figure it out exactly.... thank you for a few details.
Hi Enrico, yes standard tuning but I have a capo on 2nd fret only across the top 5 strings.
Thanks, good idea, even the '12string-sound" that I hear a bit... guess you have a little effect on you guitar...
Anyway, the more I listen to your version the better it gets :-)
