so i was in the process of rooting my tablet. i selected flash recovery. now im getting a message adb recovery device was not found. and i followed the instructions and now its taking forever to install the drivers for the nexus 7 and i can't cancel it because it says it will make my computer unstable... help please
Nice video, very detailed and useful. One question, have you tried the backup/restore functionality? I just set up my Nexus 6 with tons of apps, Nova, downloaded spotify playlists, settings, custom ringtones etc... I'm weary of losing that and would like to know if backup/restore helps.

hey i hav rooted my nexus 6 wid d above procedure successfully but now m when m getting a software update I'm getting stuck at d twrp screen which says swipe to allow modification etc. Please help me.. what should i do?

me to but only a device with the unlocked bootloader and open source like this one will work.
ran into a few problems. first wouldnt install fastboot file. finally got past that. now, even tho OEM unlocking is enabled on my phone, it is saying its not. restarted phone, tried in fastboot, cant get past it not being recognized. any advice?

got a question for you, ok installed CF autoroot on my laptop appears to installed currently, ok when going into bootloader mode in my n6 with the BL is unlocked on the top of the msg board under andy it says ap fastboot ( secure ) is this why I'm not obtaining root. thnx in advance.

By chance do you know if it will also unencrypt the phone as well. Or is that something I would have to flash after. Just got a nexus 6 and running 5.1
Hey so I went with unlocking my bootloader and followed your tutorial exactly. after it booted up the change log still said rebooting device and my nexus 7 2012 on 5.1.1 is having trouble connecting when i select wifi network on the setup screen. It says "checking connection webpage not available. the webpage at clients3.google.com/generate_204 could not be loaded because: net::ERR_CONNECTION_RESET." I have tried restarting tablet, even did a factory data reset and it still giving me this message. Do I go through the process of unlocking bootloader again?

So i used this tool to root my device, and everything worked out really well!
The only thing is that google now is disabled for some reason, and when i go into google settings to try to enable it, it says "Network error. Check your network connections and try again." I have downloaded apps and searched the web, so the internet definetely isn't the problem. How do i enable google now again?
Ran into a few hiccups rooting on 6.0.1. Had to re-install some drivers, even after the driver check came up clean. One other thing I ran in to that people should be aware of regarding the TWRP recovery...When you reboot out of recovery and back into your system, there's a warning that comes up. It reads "Your device does not appear to be rooted. Install SuperSU now? This will root your device." You have two choices. Do not install, and Swipe to install. DO NOT swipe to install. I did that and I got some kind of message saying my device was corrupted, and it wouldn't boot up. Click the Do not install option. Your phone will boot up just fine, and you'll still be rooted.
i did a official nexus 6 software update but its not booting now. all i want to do now is to unlock bootloader and flash the stock rom but im not able to check oem unlock in the devloepers option since device is not booting what should i do now can u help me?

This tool is also good for backing up other devices, you may only be able to root and flash twrp for nexus devices but adb is built in to the programn making other phones useable.

Hey how do I bypass the password or reset my phone but KEEP all my music and old photos. I have a nexus 6 but I never saved up the 130 dollars for another screen until about a year later. I have since forgotten the pattern and am stuck because I have a lot of stuff I miss on my phone

Well i have a problem. During my first run through this process, i accidently clicked on "no" at the point where i have to select yes to unlock the bootloader. Now if i start the script again, the phone is just rebooting.
Can someone tell me, how i have to resolve this problem.

I have a nexus 7 2013 it's unlocked, rooted and TWRP and was running kit kat 4.4.4. The problem is that I accidentally deleted the operating system and backups in the recovery TWRP but not the internal memory. The Google Image and the unlocked image is showing but will not boot up in to the system. How can I get the OS back.

Everything went well until the actual root step took place. When my device rebooted, I had no apps and I keep getting the "Unfortunately, Google App has stopped" notification. I also have no apps. I still get texts and calls. PLEASE HELP!!
*Update* I have all of my apps, there are just none displayed on my homescreen. The apps are functional. I have to use the google search bar to search the play store, then open that and open the apps through the playstore. I can't access my app drawer either. What should I do?

Ok so should I do a custom recovery or not. I want to not screw around too much but I am(hopefully) getting a nexus 6 soon and I want to root it for things like PS3 controller support and other various things. So should I just root or should I go ahead and do custom recovery too?
Android M requires custom recovery to root.

I already did all this on my N6, but I forgot to check the install custom recovery box. Should I simply re-root with it checked to install TWRP? Or is there a way to only install TWRP?

Just did this, nexus 7, set it all up again and realized it was not rooted. So to re root you have to wipe it all again? Nice app.

I'm having trouble connecting my n6 to my computer. I've used many different cables and usb ports. The phone charges, but it does not read on the computer. I've basically tried everything, can someone help thanks!!
Alan le Had that same issue, the only way i fixed it was to recover all windows files, basically a reinstall of Windows

yesterday I accidentally flashed a nexus 5x animation bar and when I flashed it my phone started to turn off i Booth in to TWRP to wipe my Moto g 2 it was literally wiped but installing cm 14.1 it says failed until it just shuts off and won't turn back on I think it's in a Boothloop how can I bring back my phone please I need a video on how to restore my Moto g 2 xt1063.
