I was thinking it was that episode. It seemed like the story took place in the second season which eliminates the first five episodes. The Revenge is the 12th episode and episodes 11 and 10 weren’t written by Larry David. So looking at episodes 6-9, the Phone Message is the one which seems the most unrealistic for someone to do and Larry David really did steal a tape out of a girls machine.

I love that first story, but I've heard Jason tell it enough times now where I just wish someone would finally show him a list of summaries of the first 13 episodes so he could tell us which unrealistic story he's talking about!🙃
I swear in an older interview he said it was "The Revenge". The one where George walks into his boss' office and rants, insults him, and quits. Then on Monday he shows up again like nothing happened. He said he went to Larry and argued "Larry, this is ridiculous. No one would ever behave that way, or have the nerve to show up again on Monday." And it turned out Larry did that exact thing at SNL.

What are you going for so I can figure out how to get there for you.” “I don’t know what you’re talking about. This happened to me and this is exactly what I did.” LOL
Jason she’s right, “the revenge episode” is season 2 the 13 episode season when you get fired and just go back like it never happened, Larry did that while working for SNL, Kenny Kramer told him to do that
It's kind of crazy to think that without Larry, Jerry Seinfeld would probably have been like every other comedian of his day who had a short run of moderate success and then just faded away.
I think it was the bit where George ate a piece of pastry that was on top of the trash. Jason Alexander thought the scenario was unbelievable and no one would do that. Larry David said this happened to me and I ate it!
He's told this story before but he said it was when George left the message for the girl on her answering machine and went to get it before she could hear it. Something Larry did in real life
I'm convinced it's the epidsode where he refuses to go to the appartment of the girl because it's too late for coffee. And then he drops messages and finally steals the messages on the phone machine.
Ironically, the real-life conversation that Jason and Larry had about the Seinfeld scene Jason claimed would never happen in real life, was then used as a scene in Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Jason is my Favourite! He’s absolutely the Best in Seinfeld! Oh the talent!!
Imagine having to say the same story for 30 plus years.. it's like billy joel singing the piano man he hates the song now..
The most interesting part of this clip to me, is that all 3 of them have their headphones on backwards.
1:38 “It struck me that the basic situation that George was in was absolutely absurd … So I went to Larry and I said “Larry, help me. We both know this situation would not happen in real life, and even if it did, no one would react like this. So you’re going for something. What are you going for so I can figure out how to get there for you.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about. This happened to me and this is exactly what I did.”
LOL
Jason she’s right, “the revenge episode” is season 2 the 13 episode season when you get fired and just go back like it never happened, Larry did that while working for SNL, Kenny Kramer told him to do that
I love when videos cut off right in the middle of someone's thoughts haha
It's kind of crazy to think that without Larry, Jerry Seinfeld would probably have been like every other comedian of his day who had a short run of moderate success and then just faded away.
I think it was the bit where George ate a piece of pastry that was on top of the trash. Jason Alexander thought the scenario was unbelievable and no one would do that. Larry David said this happened to me and I ate it!
Are they referring to woody. Tim Allen's character in toy story?
His mannerisms as George is pure Larry David.
He's told this story before but he said it was when George left the message for the girl on her answering machine and went to get it before she could hear it. Something Larry did in real life
35 years of Larry David's life stories on TV. Genius!!!
He’s said in a interview before that the episode he realized was the one we’re he quit his job and then came back on Monday like nothing happened.
The MY BOYS CAN SWIM scene has always been my favorite. Even the other cast members barely stifled a laugh
Let's ask questions that have been answered 700,000 times! What an amazing concept for a podcast.
Jason is a gem.
I read that Jason decided after ep 4 that he needed to make the character his own after Larry
I'm convinced it's the epidsode where he refuses to go to the appartment of the girl because it's too late for coffee. And then he drops messages and finally steals the messages on the phone machine.
George had the best story lines. The show is basically about him.
I love how Larry's stand-up is best known for him walking off stage so much.
They're not having fun, I'm not having fun, so what are we doin' here?
Jason seems so natural and low ego.
the episode George is trying to remember is The Phone Message s02e04, the 9th EP of the series
Ironically, the real-life conversation that Jason and Larry had about the Seinfeld scene Jason claimed would never happen in real life, was then used as a scene in Curb Your Enthusiasm.
Jason had told this story a dozen times and still cant figure out what episode it was from.. strange
I still stand by the fact that Frank Costanza is the funniest character on the show.
