    Sorry I missed to include the reservation process in the video... You can make reservation from this English site🚌: www.highwaybus.com/gp/inbound/index?lang=EN In the Route Search section, choose TOKYO to YAMANASHI. Or type your destination such as Kawaguchiko / Shimoyoshida to the Search Box.

    There is also a special rapid train to Otsuki on the Chuo line. From there you get on the Fujikyuko line to Kawaguchiko. It's a bit slower than the Fuji Excursion but only costs 2500 Yen from Shinjuku.

    Thank you Tokyo Kenchan for saving my fall trip to Japan! We had trouble booking a highway bus to Kawaguchiko on a different website last minute, but the one you provided worked with no problem. Thanks for the great video. I'm planning for similar trip and I'm aware of the Chuo EXPWY Shimoyoshida bus stop for Chureito Pagoda. However, I'm concerned about the walking distance from this bus stop to the pagoda which seems to be much further than the Shimoyoshida train station. Since you have walked before, just wanted to know if you will recommend to go to Kawaguchiko station and take the train to Shimoyoshida station for Chureito?

      Hi. As you see on the map at 5:09. It's 900 meters from the bus stop to the entrance. About 5-10 minutes more walk for the bus stop. It depends on the physical condition, but it's nothing comparing with going up the stairs of Chureito. But it's just my thought. :)

    Hello Kenchan! As I'm Thai I think that the pagoda and most places around Kawaguchiko are very famous spots for Thai travelers to see Mt. Fuji. Almost everyone I know that have traveled to Japan visited these spots and they all really love it, some even go back to visit Mt.Fuji and lake Kawaguchi several times! I guess these spots are like must-go places for Thai people other than Tokyo, even so I'm still quite surprised to see that they have Thai language there as well lol.
    I'm also planning my trip to Japan right now and probably gonna visit all these places in the video as well, thanks to you Kenchan! Just want to let you know that your videos are amazing and they are really helpful for planning my trip in Japan, I love how you explain everything so clearly, includes the area of these places and how to get around as well. For traffic wise, January first is much better than other days as not many people move that day, but many stores might be closing and shrines are too busy. It seems the pass is 2600 Yen, so it might be convenient if you stay a night and get around for two days. I found it a little difficult to do a lot in a day as the bus doesn't come frequently. Just for your information, Shimoyoshida to Fujisan station was 230 Yen, bus to Oshino Hakkai 400 Yen, bus to Fujikyu Highland 510 Yen, and train to Kawaguchiko 180 Yen, so it cost total 1320 Yen for the local transportation in addition to the round trip from Tokyo. You can use IC cards such as Pasmo/Suica and Visa touch. I hope it helped.

    Konnichiwa Kenchan! How does the train work if I buy a seat reservation on the Asuza? I read I need to transfer to the Fuji excursion cars at Otsuki station, but do we just sit in open (red) seats or do we go standing? The return is also confusing because I am unsure how the Fuji Kyuko line works from Kawaguchiko to Otsuki since I can reserve again from Otsuki to Shinjuku but unsure of the times/reservation for the first portion of the trip from Kawaguchiko to Otsuki.

    • @tokyokenchan
      @tokyokenchan  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello. There are three types of limited express on Chuo line, Azusa, Kaiji and Fuji Excursion. Fuji Excursion is connected to Kaiji or Azusa, and separated at Otsuki. If you can book a seat on Fuji Excursion, that is the easiest. If you get on other trains, you need to change at Otsuki. Whichever limited express you take, if you have reservation your seat ramp is green. So only time you worry about the color of the ramp is when you get on the train without reservation. If nobody reserved the seat, the ramp is red so you can get seated there. If it turns orange, it means someone comes there soon so you need to prepare to move. It's not a common system in Japan and only on this Chuo line, we see it. Some Azusa don't make a stop at Otsuki , so please be careful when you jump on the train without reservation.

      Thank you for watching from Singapore. :) Nagano city is a little far north from the route of Chuo line, so you need to change to the train to Nagano at Shiojiri. Also the limited express that stops at Otsuki doesn't go all the way to Shiojiri, so you need to change to another limited express at Kofu. But that is possible. You cannot use Hokuriku arch pass in this case though.
