They are celebrating traditional longboards, not 2 or 3 fin plastic boards. This is how it all started, these boards are where your modern day boards came from, let's never forget that.
@grantellis2840 so ur saying it never evolved? That longboarders didn't pioneer Pipeline (1957), Sunset (1939) Waimea (1957)? It wasn't called longboarding at that time, it was just called Surfing! They are using modern material to mimic old boards as well. To be sure, the lonboarding they are forcing right now was a shortboard revolution in itself. They just picked a point in time to force on modern longboarders.

When will they allow these contests to use modern longboards? They don't force shortboarders to use 1980s boards!
