This was the very first drag race that my father ever took me to. I remember walking up to the ticket booths and hearing these loud engines and looking between the bleachers and watching these colorful cars go flying by. I was hooked in one minute. I REMEMBER THE CHAOS EVERY YEAR AFTER THE DRAG RACES. THE RESERVATION WAS RUNNING TRAFFIC AND THEY REALLY DIDN'T KNOW WHAT THEY WERE DOING.
Cool vid. Up to a few years ago. It was alway neat to drive by this location and still see that tower standing. Bee Line is still held in the hearts of many of the old car guys and racers in the Phoenix area. Still see people with the t shirts on.
SAME HERE !!!....If there was ever a poster child for the term "Bittersweet", This would certainly qualify...So enjoying to watch and at the same time, So sad knowing those glory days are gone for ever !

The year I graduated trade school for auto mechanics. My track was & and still is Island Dragway Great Meadows New Jersey. ( check them out on FB.) Garlits broke the 200 MPH barrier at the cabbage patch/Empire Sod farm & I'm not kidding.

Awesome this is my Home track and remember going to this track the also had a motor cycle track witch I rode my yz 125 on it.........Great memories

My Husband has been there a few times shame Firebird raceway pretty much killed this strip.
He was always so nice to me as a kid.

Looking at Tom McEwen's Chaparral probably hit me the most with memories. Had a 44ft tri-axle back in the 80s.
I rember lopers performance car caught on fire and I got they windshield out of it signed by lopers hung in my garage for more than 30 year's
