Thanks for the plug for my Spanish Civil War Mosin Nagant website! I'm the guy who runs that. Nice collection. Wish I had a group local to me in New York state that did this kind of thing.

Great video :) But the Finnish sniper Simo Hayha used a Finish model 28, converted to a M28-30. He also commented that he didn't like the glare from a snipers scope. That glare helped him locate and kill the Russian snipers. This is a very good video, even for us hard core collectors. I'm looking forward to watching some of your other videos.

I really hope y'all are able to reshoot this one with B-roll, better sound, up to date and corrected information, and more developed content. Love your videos.

I have a 1942 Izzy ex sniper, with the filled holes. The crown and bore are flawless

The PU snipers were built and machined better than a standard 91/30. An original PU will not have a rough receiver. They were machined very smooth for mounting a scope on it. The stamped PU scope mounts travelled through Germany. The stamps were done there.

Moy-zen, Moe-Zeen or Moh-Zen will still forever and always remain a moist nugget. The Finnish are really the only ones worth the asking price with a limit of around 600-650. As a shooter's rifle, these things are horrendous.

I consider chinese and russian Mosins to be service grade. Finnish are match grade.

      Best comment ever.
If you think about it, it's equivalent to 2 thirty minute cartoon shows.

Anyone remember in the early 90’s when milsurps were $25-$50? That was the last of great gun deals.

I have an original 1943 Izhevsk PU sniper, in original form. Original scope and mount that also shoots sub MOA. My other PU, Tula 1943 PU sometimes can. It hits a dime at 100y as well. But no where near as cool as Andy's Finnish capture PU! That would be one wicked cool PU sniper to shoot. WOW! I'm impressed!

Great video. Could you please provide the name of the book you mentioned as well as the author... it’s just after the 17 minute mark in the video and I can’t make out what you said. Thanks in advance.

The Mosin Nagant rifle by Terrence W. Lapin. I believe they are up to the 6th edition. If you find an early edition cheap as used it will still give you alot of information.

I have a 1894 Finn with the long barrel marked 1943. The forend has the rounded fingers fix. Not hooded front sight. The condition is almost to good to be true. Any thoughts?

You did good. Since its pre 1899 its a antique requiring no federal paperwork for transfer to another collector.

Why don’t we find more ammunition for these, other than Tula and Wolf (and Chinese that is banned in the US)??? Don’t see anymore crates or tins coming in... what does the Russian military use? Would love to attend one of these... awesome information
