And special it was, and still is to me. It changed the face of heavy metal and my way of looking at the world of music. Still have the original tape.
    Thank you Maiden.

Anyone else YOUNG enough to remember Paul?? I LOVED those albums and remember being upset because they had a new singer. BUT after FIRST listen I KNEW it was the right move.

Paul Di'anno was a great frontman for Iron Maiden for the first two albums. The direction they were going in at the time suited his voice perfectly. But as they started to progress musically, they needed a singer who could take them the distance. But I still love Paul's voice to this day, and have every album he released after leaving Maiden.

Yes - discovered them one week after Killers dropped . Paul was the Iron Maiden sound for a year or so before we even knew what a Bruce was

@@cameronfowler7361 The first two Iron Maiden albums are in my top 10. "Killers" has always been my favourite and still is.

I was 19. And NOTB changed everything metal.
Maiden came to the Cleveland Coliseum three times that year, twice as openers, headlined the third time.
And I got to meet them all and get their autographs (on the album) at an in-store appearance @ Peaches records & tapes.
    Awesome memories.

Dickinson, Burr, Harris = the success of The Number Of the Beast. The only album made by this unique line-up.

Wrong....without Dave Murray and Adrian Smith it would have sounded completely different.
All five contributed to the success of the album.

@@henrytheeightheist8091 yes naturally. Buf if you listen to the Run to the Hills, Number of the Best of the Prisoner live with Nicko, it´s lacking the dynamics, the explosiveness, the energy of the original which was one of the main atribute of the TNOTB.
