It is crazy to me that literally 2 hours ago I was looking through your tweets trying to find a shred of information on perks for mattocks. And then you happen to just randomly upload this the same day I'm looking into it. Thanks for the info!
Me: Finally, it took disassembling hundreds of millions worth of my best gear and then replacing it to have something to put the perks on, but it's done! BEST IN SLOT PERKS! Jagex: Did somebody say *ancient invention?*
Here's a note: Most of the in-game tools are 1 handed, that includes the Crystal fishing rod. You can effectively perk an off-hand weapon and use some general good perks with it. I personally use an enhanced Excalibur perked with Wise 4 + Mobile. That's 6 Seren + Flexible + Subtle + Dextrous (Flexible in top right corner, Dextrous & Subtle in the 2 bottom corners) for a 1/1.87 chance for the perk (53.40%). Archaeology doesn't take advantage of Wise yet, but Mobile is always good to have on any skill where you can bladed dive to move faster.
For those who wanna get clue scrolls from gathering skills, I would recommend fortune 3 prosper instead of honed 6 prosper.Fortune 3 prosper requires 7 timeworn components which u can get from dissambling artifacts or getting the crates from GE and it's a 76% chance so it's pretty easy to get whereas honed 6 prosper ur gonna need ancient components which is gonna require some cash to get and the chance of getting honed 6 prosper is a lot rarer than fortune 3 prosper :)
I super look forward to the BIS perks video! I'm a returning player after a few years, and it'll be nice to have a long term goal to obtain those. (I at least know one from this video ;) ) Thanks Maikru, you're a champ. Super appreciate all you do for the community.
For Honed 6, I would recommand using 9 Sharp components instead of 9 Silent, since it is way cheaper and it has a 12% chance with 120 and extreme invention potion (plus, you have a 1/3 chance to get Honed 6 - Furnace 2) :)
You have to remember the gizmos themselves are pretty expensive to make, so having to make 8 gizmos alongside 72 sharp can actually cost more than making 1 gizmo + getting 9 silent. Furnace is one of the biggest XP increasing perks, so taking that down from 4 to 2 isn't worth it to combo it with honed imo. But if that's how you would prefer to do it, that's fine, but I think the way i suggested works best personally :)
@@MaikeruRS I remember doing this since Silent components were super expensive (multiple mils each) shortly after Arch's release, but I haven't checked if they have gone down since.
Yeah, deathlotus did go up in price. It's dropped a bit, but still fairly expensive. But remember that classic / historic comps for the gizmos are also multiples of mills when going for a gizmo with 12% unless you get lucky Both ways work, just my personal way to do it - like i said, you can do it the way you please also if you would rather that
Another thing to note, is that for many DXp weekends and DXP events. when your furnace perk procs, it will also proc your bonus xp. So instead getting Base + Furance + DXp + bonus Xp, you'll actually get Base + Furnace + DXP + Furnace on bonus Xp + Bonus Xp. Very helpful when you have limited time and you have a good chunk of DXP on say the arc or something.
Tinker parts: If you're pretty cheap, and have a bit of time, you can also Make clockwork items with a steel bar at your work bench in your playerowned house. It took me a nice chunk of them, haven't done the cannon parts, but if you're a "i'll do it myself for cheap" it's cheap.
Thought it would be helpful to add that you can get silent components rather cheaply if you do your own player owned ports. 50 death lotus darts costs 2 ancient bones to make but gives 3 silent components. So with 10 bones you can get 15 silent components. 10 bones atm are worth 3.5 to 4m if you make them into scrimshaws so death lotus darts are the cheapest option.
Furnace is cheaper than Honed if you disassemble a level 9 royal crossbow. As well, silent components can be bought with dungeoneering tokens at the elite dungeon reward shop by buying death lotus extract. It isnt a 100% sucess rate, but its better than dropping a few mil.
Gathering perk #2: or Fortune 3 | Prosper with 7 Timeworn comps, which is waaaay cheaper than Honed 6 | Prosper. I would recommend Fortune 3 | Prosper and Honed 6 if you like clues and dont want to spend mills on saving k’s.
You can also get Honed 6 Furnace 2 in one slot using 9 sharp comps (1/23 chance at 120 invent + extreme). I personally have Honed 6 + Furnace 2 / Fortune 3 + Imp Soul 2 on my mattock :)
11:28 About getting rapid 4: 2.56% for rapid 4 with nothing else, but 4.5% for rapid 4 with the possibility of getting gathering perks that have no effect on smithing, besides perhaps ruining the aesthetic of your crystal hammer.and 26.9% for rapid 3.
I haven't really spent any time doing Breakdown 6. (200M and all), i don't know how well it works on Smithing yet for components, but another thing that became available on Smithing with Ancient gizmos. Might suck, don't know haven't tried it yet, but could be good.
for silent comps if u are pritty far into ports making death lotus darts is by far the best way for for them, 2 ancient bones to make 2 lots of darts so u have 50 that u need to d/a give u 3 comps so 1 bone voyage in the final region(8 bones) is 12 comps 15 if u have a merchant on it
I find that Refined actually increases my afk exp/hr for woodcutting & firemaking more than furnace4/fortune3. With the added benefit that I can afk for SIGNIFICANTLY longer at acadia trees. Additionally the Always Adze relic gives me much more FMing exp. Honed6 & Refined4 - 175k wc exp & 200k FM exp per hour Honed6 & Furn4/Fort3 - 150k wc exp & 100k FM exp per hour This is mostly due to the inefficiencies b/c the trees chop down so fast along with furnaced burning logs instead of the always adze relic.
Imp Soul 3/ Fortune 3: 4 Zamorak 5 Timeworn - 8.5% chance with 120+extreme Invention. I got pretty lucky during invention, and was pretty happy with the combo.
You can use alternative cheaper components at level 80, i tried to showcase alternatives for each thing where possible. Remember you can also use an extreme invention potion to discover blueprints for comps way earlier than the level req.
Um, for ironmen, 7:40 instead of throwing your zammy components away, use Historic. Its a 31.69% to get fortune 3 impsouled 2, and even if you don't get it first try, its MUCH cheaper than the alternative.
For Fortune, the image on the screen of the RS Wiki page says the doubled resource does not grant any experience. But in the video you say it gives double experience? Interestingly the wiki also seems to say that Archaeology materials give double experience, so at this point I am not sure what to believe. :)
I can 100% say that archaeology mats when doubled by the perk give DXP. I used it to 200M I have not tried it with things such as fishing/woodcutting though, but i'd expect it to be the same.
Imp6/Honed5 I have a question, for you rs experts. so im rebuilding, and I looked at my banned acnt's mattock, and it has honed 5/imp6 How did I manage to get this perk combo? in one gizmo. I want to make it again, and I know I did it easily, as I don't do sweaty anything, in rs. Why is it so hard to find a guide on something I made first try purely trying some random combo.
When making them yourself, sure - you can use the bones for them right? Instead of lacquer. I was going by if you were to buy them from the GE, 95% of the playerbase doesn't do ports and darts are untradeable iirc XD
It's tool perks specifically, can run wise with whatever you're doing. That's always been the case, nothing new there kinda thing. Wanted to showcase new perks/combos mostly :) If i was to showcase everything the video would be like 30mins+ Happy to help with tinker :D gl with the gains my man, hope it goes well
Furnace for Mining on an Ironman isnt that good though. Since youll get 200m Mining regardless if you go for 200m Smithing. It would just yoink your Materials and slow Smith xp doesnt it?
@@MaikeruRS yeah just remembered about the tinderbox shortly after, and didnt know pyro matix was a thing, but th anks !! was working on 120 fm and didnt even know these things existed haha
fortune3/impsouled2 or possibly even IS3 is better with 5 timeworn 4 historic. loads cheaper than using zammy components. and you have a 1/50 of F3/IS3
thank you so much, this is what I needed to see. btw, I have honed 5 imp 6, on my mattock and no idea how I made it, as im VERY very much not into this game.. got any idea how I made that combo? thank you!
Thanks for the extra info on the fortune/imp souled combo mat alternative :D I personally don't like breakdown, you lose out on the really awesome xp perks by taking it and/or comboing it. But if you enjoy using it then go for it :D
@@MaikeruRS you are welcome, yes that breakdown is in cost of faster xp, but it is not that bad way to get components and most people don't know about it (I was farming head parts for ancient tool gizmos by smithing elder rune pickaxes +5) and also would be good to mention that you dont want furnance on pickaxe that you use for sandstones or hatchet that you use for bloodwood trees, those are things were you should use other perks (and it is something that I missed in this video) purely for xp, perks you mentioned are best ones, but there are common daily routine things, where some of these perks do more harm than good
