OMG... I can feel the stress and anxiety all the way here in Canada. I certainly don't miss that part of backpacking in certain countries - endless paper work, security, language barriers, etc. You captured it well William. I am guessing you might be going to Goa next??
About the paperwork shown in the video, one is a declaration form of your past travel and address which is usually filled up in the flight itself. The RTPCR test is madatory if you don’t have an India recognised vaccine. You could have avoided it at the airport by carrying a recent report before boarding your flight. Also, normally you will face more paperwork when you’re traveling to a different continent (except in tourist dependent economies like Maldives or Sri Lanka).
William, thank you for sharing your life with us! You are an amazingly patient and adventurous person. OMG William, i just finished watching the video and I got lots of anxiety lol It was scary the looks you got, and the amount of people and traffic was too much! Most people from India that I meet are very nice and respectful, I hope that your next video shows that.
When traveling in India or any other culture, you should be aware of local etiquettes. People usually stare when they see someone behaving out of the ordinary. For India, two things you can remember regarding stares: 1) The upper echelons of the society will stare or confront if you do something impolite or not per the etiquettes. 2) The lower echelons will stare as they are inquisitive and will possibly want to get pictures clicked with a foreigner. This is an old rural practice in India where people who travel to a big city from villages will take pictures to show their family back home that they went to travel so far that they met someone from even far off! This basically amazes their family members in terms of how far the person had traveled from their village. Quick tips for traveling: Look at the shoes of people before you go to ask them questions. If they are wearing outside shoes, they can help you out with answers, otherwise if they are wearing flip-flops, they might not be able to understand you. You can also ask for directions from any shop/store to a particular place (Don’t ask their opinion or reviews of the place though).

Mumbai isn't bad. Its just different and takes time to understand it. It is definitely overwhelming for sure. Especially if its your first time. Check out Juhu Beach, proper Bombay and street food scene. The city is amazing to discover. It has everything for everyone.

Holy Crap, William! Hopefully you find a friendlier part of the country...I can't believe the looks you were getting and we freaked out at the end of your video with the running footsteps outside your door!! You clearly are trying to be nice, but some people want no part of it...PLEASE be safe! And find a safer place to stay! ✌️☮️
You are so right. Travelling has become painful and it makes you wonder if you want to stop travelling. I thank you for doing all these trips, I won’t need to do them myself. I am travelling through you. I’ve done a fair amount of travelling and I’ve come to realize that there’s no place like home. When I go abroad now it to a 5 star resort.
From paradise in Maldives into .. a country which has some really nice places to visit like several hill stations in the north of the country , some beach destinations ( but not as beautiful like the Maldives , Mexico or Thailand ), some historic sites , and of course the backwaters of Kerala. But as is evident from your experience at the airport and walking in the city , you have to be very careful every step of the way , and you will need a lot of luck as things do not happen smoothly at all !!!!. All being said enjoy the journey and best of luck. 👍👍👍👍👍
Good video William. Other travel bloggers don't show the hassle of flying. I like your first impressions of Mumbai as that would be what most people would think, dirty and too many people. Get used to people talking to you on the street and most will be friendly. You should head to Goa for some beach and party stuff or Varanasi for the surreal experience. Cheers.
It feels like India will be a great adventure too. If you successfully survived my Mexico 😍 you'll do fine there too. We went to Zanzibar a couple of weeks ago after watching your videos. Thank you and be safe
Survived Mexico?!! México is on the top 6 most visited countries in the world for it national beauty and beautiful cities!! And is not in the list of the most polluted countries in the world like Indian is!!! Including 7 of India's main cities ranked in the list of the top 5,10 and 15 most polluted cities in the world!! What are you talking about?!!
Cities are bad in India . Goa was nice but end of tourist season . Maybe worth a visit for short while maybe some places still open or into the north / mountains as is hot around now in mainland India.
You need to make your way to Varanasi. It’s an amazing city. I lived in India for four years and I’m really looking forward to your next videos. Be careful what you eat. I got sick frequently when eating out. If you can find an apartment with a kitchen, you can make your own meals and not get sick. Good luck!

Learned a lot about the Maldives. Thanks William. India? Enjoy the wild bureaucracy and crowds. Quite a change after several weeks at the beaches. Hope you have some Imodium in your bags, ha ha. Have fun…
Looks like a strange adventure with a lot of surprise, take care!
Yeah I'll go to Thailand soon
💖💖 Love, love this intro to India 's madness.
Safe travels!!! love ur videos💜
Thank you!!
Wow, what a difference after the maldives. Let's hope first impressions are wrong lol. Stay safe
Cheers.
Airport experience including taxi seemed like a total Cluster F**k! Strange place. Hope you are safe.
Wow, that was stressful! You sure have a lot of patience. I hope the rest of your stay there is better. Stay safe !
I hope so too! thanks!
Return to Mexico! Also crazy but not nearly as crazy. Thanks for sharing your experiences with us!
México crazy?! I don't think so!!
@@universojuanluis12 si es, Carlos. Yo soy Mexicana. La verdad es la verdad.
Please stay safe in your travels there!
You should have gone to Lakshadweep, which is very similar to Maldives with less tourist it's very clean. These islands are part of India.
Good luck!
Hope you have an excellent time in Mumbai!
I look forward to your sharing this new adventure and culture.
