  • Celluveyor is an omnidirectional conveyor belt that consists of small hexagonal cells capable of moving products in any direction. Operators set a product's course by using special software installed on a tablet. The conveyor belt is most suited for smart warehouses and assembly lines.

      Nope. Not until human handling of packages is reduced to zero will packages stop being treated roughly. We just don’t have time to treat your package like eggs.

      appleintosh Alright, so maybe you guys can't treat it like a carton of eggs. Sounds reasonable. But I have seen packages that had toothpaste and dumbbells in the SAME BOX with NO PROTECTION, and even a diploma folded to be shoved into a mailbox when it clearly said 'DO NOT FOLD'. I get it wasn't you, but still: Show some respect for the packages

      It’s called a conveyer belt because this type of device typically uses belts. This one does the same thing, even if it technically doesn’t have a belt.

  • @StevenZephyc
    @StevenZephyc 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Can already see tons of problem:
    1, only works with flat package. Plastic mailbag, bubble-wraped gifts --- forget about it.
    2, much more costly - duh.
    3, a lot less durable: too much electronic mechanical parts and all are bound to fail: good thing they made it much Easier to replace lol.
    4,most likely won't go uphill at a steep degree, three wheels is too little contact surface
    5, same applies to downhill.
    6, probably also require additional sensor to have awareness on what/ where package on the system, even more expenses/chance of failure.
    In conclusion, this thing isn't replacing conveyer belt anytime soon, but it does have a tiny niche market where the company might need a lot reformatting/a lot of complex conveyer option.

    • @awesomelyshorticles
      @awesomelyshorticles 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most packages are flat and boxy. If there is an irregular package, they can send it to another part of the line for processing, and end up using less time and investment in those. I dont think it would be a problem.
      It shouldn't have to go uphill. It's meant to compliment the conventional conveyor system, it shouldn't have to replace it. You see in the video the conveyor was mostly used for sorting to other conveyors. That seems like its most useful and therefore most common application. If a package needs to go vertical, it can go on a conveyor belt. Or maybe they can elevate the conveyor device to access a higher chute. Same with going down.
      I think having one small and costly unit would be more cost effective than building a much larger system of conventional conveyors to do the same sorting, especially where space is tight.
      Skepticism is valid, but I dont think it's merited.

    1) this doesn't work on an angle ascending or descending. 2) its not a belt, it's a hub for swapping direction. This has no added benefits compared to an average conveyer belt. It's an inconvenience and doesn't make anything easier or faster.
