@@debramazelin40 There is no shortage. They had/have that same country heart as the guys n gals that proceeded them & were still making that timeless country. I'd offer you folks like Jamey Johnson , Sturgill Simpson, & Tyler Childers, as representative of the many out there still making timeless country.
Just made a pit stop for a break at the Sinclair gas station in Kaycee, Wyoming. I thought it appropriate to pay homage to such a wonderful man and talented artist by watching this again in his hometown before I left. We miss you, Chris. God speed
I suppose people would assume I'm a "gangster" by the way I appear! I religiously remind them that "gangster" don't describe nor define someone who has tattoos on they face or saggy pants 😂! My boy Justin Orr was the first cowboy 🤠 I was friends with. Only one that could hang with my demeanor.... Ol' boy would welcome a brawl! Take off his hat, Smile Big 😁 at everyone, reach in his mouth and take out his dentures and place em in his hat. Put his hat down and me and my boy would box whole teams..... Jocks layed out all on the ditch bank. Our highschool sports are usually competing for state. Our sophomore year only mostly the girls sports ranked... We rocked the baseball team, stomped on his throwing hand, I put the star soccer player in the dirtiest ankle lock in his career. Tapped out most of the wrestling team 💪🏽🤠🤳🏽 I say gangster is getting kicked in the mouth by a bronco and knowing that some kid has nothing for you. I used to fight with my Mom's husband. 14 years old and he got to good steps in towards me and drilled me in the mouth. I didn't realize at the time but I took a unflinching punch to the face by an adult like a "G" and only stumbled cuz it wasn't expected! I looked back while I was on top of him and the whole neighborhood plus 2 cops were literally sitting back watching 😂 I had that attitude that Varsity athletes do but towards Varsity athletes. I knew no one at that school could phase me after I throw down with grown men at home. NOW that's "Gangster" after that I was at every rodeo and event in the state. Gotta love them cowgirls 🫶🏽 don't forget about them!
chris ledoux was and still is the real deal cowboy from kaycee, wyoming. chris your gone but along way from forgotten.rest in peace cowboy hope to meet you again at the big rodeo in the sky.
Before he begin to sing this he said....Well there's always been groups of people that could never see eye to eye and I always thought if they had a chance to sit down face to face they'd realize they've got a lot in common....
Met Chris at a Target store in Riverside California when I was working there as plain clothes security, Early nineties..he was there to sign autographs from a new album.. Super cool laid back guy…Lots of folks stood in line to meet him..
This song reminds me of my grandpa. He was a rodeo cowboy among many other things. Grandma tells stories about the fights he got into because guys would try to mess with his cowboy hat.
My first cousin ( once removed) Brad Johnstone, was best friends and used to ride with Chris Ledoux back in the day. My grandma used to tell me many stories of Chris and Brad's times together. My mom once told me that Chris would often come back home to Brad's house with him and start playing the guitar, and really get into it and slide down the hallway on his knees. I remember walking down that very hallway when I was about 13 or 14 years old at Brad's ranch in Wyoming.
Had the luck to see him perform years ago at a rodeo in Eugene Oregon, one of the best concerts ever....goosebumps at "turned up on a big ole Texas grin" everytime!
Love that I can see this now...youtube is great.. I loved Chris Ledoux...he cut a song with Garth that I own...so I am very proud of that. The song is SOME THINGS NEVER CHANGE...if you have a video of that, I would love to see it.
Gawd I miss hearing him and watching him riding in the rodeo.love this song and THIS OLD HORSE KNOWS HIS WAY HOME.and a few others also. I've done LOOK AT YOU GIRL for karaoke several times also.another great song
The World has gone to shit.... Been contorted so many times I can not count any more.... Only thing that matters to me is my hat my spurs Cav and my Dog....
1%er bikers wouldn’t rip my hat off. It’s US Cavalry Stetson, with crossed sabers in front and the regimental crests of the Armor and Cav regiments I rode with. That kind of stuff is as sacred to them as me.
I’m given to understand Chris was the real deal, music was his part time gig, he was a working rodeo rider. I suppose I could look it up, but really I don’t wanna know. It’s such a good story/myth
Well, no biker is going to rip my hat off my head. It's a Cavalry Stetson, has the yellow cords, the brass crossed saber insignia of my beloved United States Cavalry in front and the back has the crests of the Armor and Cav units I rode with, one of them being the 7th....GERRYOWEN!!! That stuff sounds like stuff antifa would pull. Hell, in the blue cities and states, it's like the safest places to set up a military recruiting office are, like, next door to a biker hangout.
Why can't we have music like this today??????
Billy strings Marcus King BlackBerry Smoke. All kinds of western and southern rock out there.
Cause all the cowboys’ hats got knocked off and pissed on
Because sadly, just like Chris, far too many great songwriters and singers have passed on.

What's with country singers dying of heart attacks
Chris Ledoux died of a rare type of liver cancer, not a heart attack.
