    Much safer than two wheels in bad weather, standing at an intersection and handling. MUCH TOO SAFE FOR USE IN THE USA!

      Thanks Greg. No, Kymco only do the CV3. There was the Quadro 4 wheeler though. They changed name to Quooder and seem to have vanished in the UK. www.qooder.com/en/Pages/qooder

  • @senna4281
    @senna4281 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Question why is the Piaggio MP3 550cc, Peugeot Metropolis 400, Piaggio MP3 300 Yamaha Tricity 300
    all can be ridden on a UK car license but the Yamaha Niken GT needs a full drive license. Yet the dicence between the two front wheels looks bigger on the Yamaha Niken GT.?

    • @ScooterLabUK
      @ScooterLabUK  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Nikken’s front wheels are less than 410mm wide so it’s classed as a motorcycle, rather than tricycle. I imagine that was done deliberately by Yamaha to stop non-riders from getting on.

    • @yongahn7865
      @yongahn7865 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The scooters you've mentioned have CVT automatic trasmission and foot brakes. So You don't have to worry about your gear selection and you can stop them like cars with brake pedals. And those scooters can stand upright independently if you push your roll-lock buttons when you are about to stop. You don't have to put your feet on the ground when you stop. These features make them give you more car-ish experience. So you can drive them with car licence.
      But Niken is basically a manual bike with 3 wheels. It has manual transmission with clutch lever. And it has no foot brakes and roll-lock button. You have to slow it down with your hand brake lever. It cannot stand up independently just like the other normal bikes. You have to put your foot on the ground when you stop it so that the bike does not fall. To sum up, if you want to ride a Niken, you need to know how to ride a conventional manual bikes.

    Are they going to sell this model in the UK? I spoke with a former dealer in Scotland, who said Kymco was a niche brand here and he had trouble sourcing parts and servicing, so eventually ditched the company. He also mentioned that it’s unlikely we would get the CV3 in the UK.

    • @ScooterLabUK
      @ScooterLabUK  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It should be on sale around now. The brand changed importers so had a couple of years where things were tough in the UK but they’re back with a bang.

    I just wondering if it’s possible to lose balance and fall with this scooter . Lately I have been losing balance with my Xmax 300. I’m 59 years old , so my balance is not great .

    • @ScooterLabUK
      @ScooterLabUK  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Although the CV3 has 3 wheels it can still overbalance. The good thing is that you can lock the body at slow speeds so once you get used to it you can keep your feet up. It also helps when parking, you can simply roll it back into a space. This scooter is heavier than your XMAX though so bare that in mind.

    No Traction Control on a 2023 model £12,000 550cc bike?!

    • @TonyStone3000
      @TonyStone3000 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Doesn't need it. It also has a rain mode. People rode for decades without traction control. And to be honest, this bike has little power. I had a BMW 650 Sport, and the worst part about that scooter was that you couldn't cut off the traction control.
