Madison was in London for a short trip to perform at the Barbican, and the following morning we all got together. Madison won the Grammy for the Best Folk Album this year and it's so well deserved ✨

Absolutely a different class, the writing, lyrics, melodies, playing, singing. Unreal. Gives me goosebumps every time and it’s almost as if she’s not even breaking a sweat. Beautiful
Obsessed with all the note changes and tiny variations she does for each performance of all her songs. Revealer was my top album last year and I wouldn't be surprised if the deluxe is my top album this year. I could seriously go on and on - she is just that incredible.
Also shoutout to the mixing engineer. SO incredible, it is straight magic. Gorgeous cinematography too. All around amazing!
Pretty much every time I hear this woman sing it has a 50/50 shot of making me cry a bit. She's incredible.
Madison always does new and interesting things in her live performances. Sometimes that's frustrating because I wish these versions were also on the records!

I come to this version so very often, it's like a daydream
First saw her at MSG opening for Harry Styles on Halloween. Just transported us-- made that huge stadium feel as intimate as this little chapel. She'll be back there as the headliner.

Ah, one of the glorious newer artists that doesn't just grind on the same tired/predictable 1/4/5/6 chord patterns with repetitious 3-note melodies. I absolutely love the exploratory rhythms, long flowing melodic lines, and pleasantly unexpected chord progressions and mood changes throughout. It takes you on a journey. Bravo!

Yes. Also I rarely like a pick-up & amplifier (as opposed to a real microphone), but there is a nice thickness to the guitar tone here. It’s also possible that some of natural acoustics of the church that are also adding into the mix. Just when I thought there was no more hope in song, I discovered Madison!

Hey! It’s just a Hotrail type. I have a couple guitars modded just like that. Just old school catalog guitars that have been fitted with a bridge made of rubber that deadens the strings. You string them up with flat wounds, and you tune them low. The result is this beautiful, plucky almost classical sound. Check out Old Style Guitars in Silverlake. They invented it and make most of them
