    It may be a good strategy to put a fan nearby to increase evaporation.

      Rest assured though I did try to make my own not long ago for fun, and unlike your shrimp that eat it, mine touch that food and go "yuk!" and they move on because clearly my tank has better to offer than my garbage food, I did cry a little bit obviously over my failure as a chef, but I am not giving up just yet 🤣So doesnt matter if your video looked like it was hard to do, at least your shrimp loved the food man, mine I feel like i need to go in there and teach them how to make babies someday! 🤪@@BobMossNanoTanks

    I'm thinking you can include lots of different things in these kinds of home made foods for shrimp, snails etc. They are scavengers and eat just about anything. I might try adding some ground up dog kibble, meat meal, fish meal and I might even grind up some meal worms. I'm sure spinach and/or spirulina could replace the duck weed. I recently made some aqua snail cookies, had some of the same ingredients, included egg and was frozen not dehydrated. My shrimp love these, seriously, they eat anything.

    • @BobMossNanoTanks
      @BobMossNanoTanks  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You might run into some issues there. Shrimp are still sensitive to chemicals and pesticides so if the dog food ingredients were treated with something, it could kill your shrimps. You can try some organic salmon or something like that, I've heard of that working. Once you add the meat, though, you probably should refrigerate the food between uses! Spinach IS a great one as well!

    should have puree the floaters and then add dry ingredients in a bowl and make a dough. then roll out dough into a sheet and then score the dough with a pizza cutter. let dry overnight and then you can break into small squares that you scored with pizza cutter. spirulina and kelp will help with the nutritional value

      I think I'm going to give that a try... and toss some of each type in my dehydrator to see how it holds together. I have cats, I have learned not to leave stuff out to dry... that's a guarantee of stuff either ending up on the floor or having paws in it lol

    Would just blanching the floaters accomplish the same thing as freezing and then thawing them?

    • @BobMossNanoTanks
      @BobMossNanoTanks  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      O ya that'll do it. I just collect them over time so freezing then preserves them for longer

    Yo brus good to see you again
    Good job on making it a touch more difficult than it could be! Entertainment value was impeccable 👌 if you want ro see your shrimp go nuts spirulina is the way to go they love the stuff. Adding that to your wet goods IN A BOWL works wonders and it sticks it all together I roll mine out in thin sausage like strips let dry and boom perfect pellets 🤏👍. Hope the little one is doing good?

      LOL! I always seems to have trouble, I think my Magic Bullet is getting old.
      I was looking for a good deal on bulk spirulina but there were some issues with the sale, hopefully next time!
      I have been told to use a bowl a couple of times and honestly, it just sounds messy and gross lol. Maybe I'll bit the bullet one day but I like staying clean haha.
      Baby is doing great! Just eating all my time and money lol. Thanks for asking!

    Very entertaining video, your editing is awesome!🙂 absolute light years ahead of mine, of course mine are virtually unedited aka boring as hell lol. Hey very interesting way to make shrimp food! I’m getting my first neocaradina shrimp next week. The wife gave me the green light for my birthday. (Short lease syndrome) thanks man🙂👍🏻💯⭐️

    One trick I'd try is to powder the dried leaves first, then you can measure/weigh them, which would help us novices know how much you put in. With the wet stuff. Is there a way to measure that goop before you added the other ingredients? I have a stash of powdered spinach, powdered mulberry leaves (from a neighbor's tree, with permission), and Spirulina which is like GLUE so add it last. I like your recipe, I think I'll doctor it before adding the frogbit I culled. I had no idea nettles were that amazing!

    • @BobMossNanoTanks
      @BobMossNanoTanks  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not a bad idea, I'll try to provide more information like that if I do this topic again. I could weigh the goop or even just the floaters before hand to let you guys know how much is actually there.
      Feel free to adjust amounts and ingredients as you like, spirulina would make the shrimps go even more nuts for this than they already do!

      @@BobMossNanoTanks I just tried my first batch! I used: 1 Tbs pollen, 2 Tbs Bentonite clay, 2 tbs powdered mulberry leaves [Thanks neighbor!], 1/4 cup nettle powder, 1/4 cup spinach powder, 1/4 cup Spirulina powder [Thank you Etsy], and pureed goopy culled frogbit. Mixed dry first, had to add a little water to goopy plants, once powder added it got thick REALLY fast from Spirulina. Texture was a little thicker than your video, more like runny peanut butter. I prepped one tray with parchment but needed 2. Prepped a disposable icing bag [Thank you Wilton classes!] and made a horrible mess but managed to get lots of skinny lines that are now drying. Used an oven that was cooling after I made dinner, but dinner plus drying and roast chicken does NOT mix well with Spirulina plant goop! The test piece is greatly loved by snails in the betta tank. Will get the shrimp tank when they're done eating yesterday's meal. THANK YOU!!! This is too cool!

    I'm glad it eventually worked out for you. If I try to do this, it will look like the outtakes for 5 hours but with extremely salty language. I've been supplementing with ground up eggshell but it ends up being a bigger hassle than it needs to be and I can't tell if the shrimp or snails even care about it.

    • @BobMossNanoTanks
      @BobMossNanoTanks  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well, this isn't my first attempt so I kind of knew what to expect, the plants just got gummier than I was used to because of the volume.
      They won't eat the eggshell at all, it will slowly dissolve and help maintain the KH of the water.
