    Been using the Gantia’s for a bit over a year now. It’s insane watching Jacks come out in super clear water and smashing them. As you mentioned i have also noticed they always seem to come out and smack them side on. Always puts me on edge watching them follow it knowing how expensive they are, but the visual experience is so worth it.

    Recently caught a 58.1 cm Jack (tagged and released) in the Noosa River (canals) on a RD's Life Like Lures garfish 26 cm swim bait. Big enough to head out to the reef I reckon. The action is fast and works amazingly well around pontoons. The smallest Jack I've caught on it is 43cm. Trolled offshore, it works for Mackerel as well.

      Wow! That’s a monster Jack!!
      Thanks again Bill. Funny you mention it. I’ve just had one on the flats this week. Love their action and definitely gonna give em more time for Flathead JAcks and the Mackerel ;)

      @@mylurebox Awesome. That might be the ones I sent you. 😉 It's my PB Jack by a long way. It felt like a Mack truck hit it. I was lucky, it swam away from the pontoon first up, for some strange reason, then spent the next frantic 40 seconds trying to get back. I don't think I would have caught it otherwise.

    hey mate how do you know if you need to change hooks or split rings on swim baits or other hard body lures when you pick up one in the shop I can never tell just by looking at the lure before taking it to the desk to pay for it

    Hey mate. Awesome video. Would you recommend the jackall gantaral and chibiteral for jacks or flathead

    • @mylurebox
      @mylurebox  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They’ll definitely work on Flathead mate ;) Jacks will take em too but it’s a lot of hard work in between big fish takes and it’s bloody big stakes at that. My suggestion would be to have a few big fish targets in mind before you set out to try and find out where they are if you can. The Jackall gear is the business hey

    just went and bought my first baitcaster for this purpous alone. ATC combat plus 200 . havent beard much about them, old mate at the tackle shop reckons good bang for buck lol. now i need a rod, he says that reel paired with a shimano zodias extra heavy would be mint. im a bit warey , as its only rated up to 56gm lures. which will be enough for the small to medium size swimbaits . but then again not sure i wanna throw $80 lures around.

      Cheers for replying Joel ;) I haven’t fished em but that sounds like they’re all you’re gonna need to get going. Good luck mate! Leave the swimbaits if they’re still too damn pricey. There’s so many lures to froth on in the meantime. A lost swimbait is no fun

    Hey I make jointed mullet swimbaits should I just run a soft tail or just no tail at all

    • @mylurebox
      @mylurebox  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Aidan. The tail will dampen the action at times but it can serve as a beacon for fish and complete the profile. I like it as real as possible

    Hey John getting withdrawals not having a clip this week, so I've resorted to re-watching some of the older clips again, still great watching.
    I'm typing this while I listen to your pre-fish for the Flathead Classic last year, in which you're getting your brother fired up for the classic by catching a 80cm+ specimen and then you're talking about slow rolling in the shallows. Made me think of a lure I came across which I thought would be prefect for that application. Reminiscent of the Slap Stick in some ways and probably more so the Live Target Swimbait you talk about on this clip.
    Anyway not sure if you've seen or heard of them before, it's by "Evergreen" it's not a hardbody lure but the swimming action is fantastic. Called a "Last Ace 168" here's a look

    th-cam.com/video/sSzfCL5pmL8/w-d-xo.html&feature=emb_logo
    to me it's not only the action that caught my eye but the surface breaches the lure makes which is certain to attract the attention of some big girls.
    You can find them here if you're interested, comes in seven colours - jpnfishingtackle.com/products/2456_bnew?variant=28151934877760

      Mate that’s awesome!!! So funny you’ve shared this lure with me... I’ve got something in the making for blokes wanting their big flatty ;) this shares some similarities too.
      My brother had his first child last night so the editing has had to wait this week :) won’t be long, I’ll get on it :) thanks as always for sharing some of your luring insights. That thing is epic
