Had the privilege of seeing two of the greatest goals ever scored by this man, away to Coventry in 69-70 when he literally beat half the opposition on his own on a 70 yard run then calmly slotted it past Bill Glazier in the Coventry goal, and repeated it later that same season at home against Sheff Wed in a 3-1 win. The man was unreal.
I remember being at Stamford Bridge on a very inclement Wednesday night when perhaps the greatest individual Chelsea goal was scored by Alan Hudson which won the game 1-0 against possibly Sheffield Wednesday (?) in 1970. It was windswept and it lashed down rain when Peter Bonetti rolled the ball to Alan Hudson on the edge of the box and he dribbled past the whole team including the goalie and rolled it into an empty net and only around 11000 watched the game. Anyone else out who can fill in the details to that game. Happy days Blue is and always will be the colour.
Chelseas George Best of The Kings Road He Missed The 1970 FA Cup Final Against Leeds United Through Injury He Played In The European Cup Winners Cup Final 1971 Against Real Madrid Chelsea Won Both Finals They We're An Awesome Team
I enjoyed watching the goal that never was at around 01:00 - against Ipswich if memory serves me. I was there on that day and the ref gave the goal, but just about everybody else in the stadium knew that it didn't go in. Look at the players, they all turned away disappointed, but the ref gave it.

A great skillful player....so no surprise England didn't have a clue how to use him!

Still don't know how that early 70's squad never won the Div 1 title. Ps: Great track!!
If only Dave Sexton hadn't been such a tool. Alan Hudson could have been our Hoddle or Brady, fabulous player.

Hudson and Chelsea were tremendous to watch. SO entertaining. Imagine Ronaldo in that side too. 😁
Happy Birthday Alan Hudson Born on this day 21 June 1951.
I was there for the Coventry goal.
Never scored enough goals. Not my words, but those of Peter Osgood.
I always thought Hudson played like a Brazilian.
