For casual use it seems like a nice unit. Personally I couldn't live with 512GB as my entire internal storage (nor would I want to buy this and then replace the nvme with a larger one but that sort of defeats the value proposition). To be fair, I use mini's as music/video servers, so I'm prejudiced.
What was so impressive about the NUC11 Essential is that it had 4 USB ports at the back. Unfortunately like most other minis this only has two at the back 😢
The regular Geekom IT12 with an i7 12650H CPU is fine for those that do not game or game on a console. Perfectly fine to do anything in the scope of office work and/or programming. - Geekbench 6 single core score of 2,293 - Geekbench 6 multi-core score of 10,434 - Cinebench R23 multi-core score of 14,276 Roughly $550 before taxes and shipping.

There's a few differences you'll have to weigh up. The MiniAir12 has USB-C PD and display, while the 0dB doesn't. WiFi/BT coverage is much better with the external antennas on the Minix 0dB and it has 2.5G LAN. Performance is better on an actively cooled unit, but the 0dB holds up really well for a fanless mini PC. And of course, quiet isn't the same as silent 😉
Thank you, in fact I prefer good wifi coverage and 2.5 LAN. A USB-C PD is indeed missing, but perhaps on the next Minix, it will be present with the N300😉. What do you think about compare this one versus MSI Cubi N ADL? MSI has a DDR4 memory and bigger size, but also has an extra storage availability (2.5" hdd or ssd) and two LAN ports. I already ordered a MSI with N100 CPU, but now thinking about probably wrong choice, because I just need any quiet enough mini-pc for 'nomad' working with desktop linux OS. Sounds like geekom is a smaller, not noisy, has a DDR5 memory. It fits perfectly for my purpose. And all existing reviews of MSI Cubi N ADL still doesn't have any information about it's noise level...
Haven't tested the Cubi N ADL, only the Cubi 5 12M. Based on that, it should be fairly quiet, the external power button is useful if you mount it and the extra storage is nice if you need it. I might be able to do a review in the future, but I'm flat out at the moment with a bunch of higher end units.

Hard to tell without years of use, but GEEKOM is one of the few that offers a 3 year warranty which is a big deal for me.
