Queen Anne is responsible she chose 13 commissioners mainly Conservative Lords to negotiate the signing of the articles of the treaty, these negotiations were not done face to face and done behind closed doors, in fact the people of Scotland were kept in the dark with a news blackout of the treaty signing or the results until they returned to Westminster.
In laymen terms today, the signing of articles of the treaty was fundamentally flawed in everyway.

The English people are not your enemy; this highlights that we all have self-serving, self-appointed masters. The same people who are currently vehemently pushing for a no-deal brexit are demonstrating exactly the same fluff and obfuscation on the benefits for the normal people that the people of Scotland received from their 'leaders' during the time of union.

@Sidney Pedrosa I'm a Scot I have never felt like living in a colony of England. Anything out of the British isles was a colony of Britain. Scotland played it's part in building the biggest Empire the world has ever seen. Scotland prospered and became more powerful. You do know the Industrial Revolution started in Britain? In factories up & doon Scotland aswell as England & Wales. Most of our trade is with England, We are ruled from Edinburgh not Westminster. Scotland can still vote on English affairs in Westminster but it's only Scottish MPs who run Scotland except for Defence in Edinburgh. The u.k is the most successful Union in history. We won 2 world wars together as the U.K. Why break that up? Why was that a huge mistake??? Most Scots seems to think the same. Before talking nonsense learn how the U.K works. We are all 1 nation. I'm still proud as fuk to be a Scot but also proud of being British. I have family living in England and there's plenty English who has family in Scotland. I like my free passage into any part of the U.K and I'm certain it's same for Wales, England & northern Ireland. Alba Gu Bràth 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 and long live our Union 🇬🇧

Ye dae ken that Britannia is that place that lays to the south of Hadrian's wall? It was the name given from the Romans to that part of this island. North of that was called Caledonia. You are as much British as you are French. Meaning, you're not at all. You're Scottish, Caledonia a child of Alba. If you don't like it though you do have the freedom to go and be British in Britannia. Peace.

Firstly I don't think we are parasites, just praying on the tax money from England. We are a partner of all the nations. England cannot help that there are more of them than us. And as for saying we are not British because the Romans didn't conquer us, is really craping the stupid barrel. If you are going by what the Roman's called everyone. Then are they our real master's still? This is the problem with the SNP idiot's. They love to come up with really dumb stuff like in the comments. Instead of admitting that Scotland has become a great nation, all while part of the UK. We have been world leaders in many fields, all due to our British partnership. But they want to throw that away for some stupid argument about things over 300 years ago. You all say you want democracy. Well except the result of our ONCE IN A GENERATION vote. And shut up!

It is only here in Scotland that we pirouette on the head of a pin over patriotism and nationalism. Who else have you ever met who boasted:
"I love my Country but don't want it to govern itself, I much prefer it to be in a minority in another parliament where it can always be outvoted and where parties we don't support will dictate our budget and policies. I don't think my country should have independence because it really wouldn't be able to do the job properly"
Most foreign listeners would reply: Then it's not your Country at all. You can't care enough about it to call it your Nation. You may call yourself Scottish but you are in fact British. Britain is your Country.
The problem is Britain is not a Country it's a geographical location, therefore you are no real Scot...
I don't mind you born and bred in Scotland preferring a Parliament based in England running your Country, its fine you prefer your political parties registered in England, and detest the parties registered in Scotland. I have no problem with you being happy that a Country England making up 84% of the UK population deciding what political party governs over us, or deciding if we are European or not, I don't mind if you get your information from the 37 Tabloids, BBC/ITV and Sky all based down South, but what I can't stand is you basically English disguised under the fake British Identity claiming you know or care what's best for Scotland. That is just a LIE.

    • @rodricselbie35
      @rodricselbie35 4 ปีที่แล้ว +12

@@Randomstuffs261 The UK is made up of 4 Countries, England makes up 85% of the UK population, 2 of those Countries voted to remain and the other 2 voted to leave, let's throw in Gibraltar who voted remain, did you know even if Wales had voted to remain the result would have remained the same. I don't feel we are a family of Nations as when it comes to General elections and constitutional matters the other 3 Countries may as well not turn up to vote as England will determine our direction. That's not England's fault just solely because of the population size. I am completely confused at why Scots are content to simply go along with decisions made elsewhere against their will, for me it's like France having a referendum on the EU the leave vote wins and France says we are taking Belguim with us, that wouldn't be acceptable anywhere in the world but its fine for Scotland. We are not to be informed of the full content of the reports into how Brexit will affect our Country. We are not to be told what sum of money they are having to pay to leave the EU. They are giving us no say on the terms of the leaving. We are to be taken out of the single market. Our Government has not been consulted on one single aspect of their Brexit. A fair and equal Union? Just crap! and certainly can't be described as a democracy.
      So let’s just update ourselves:
ENGLAND: voted Leave, getting what it wanted
WALES: voted Leave, getting what it wanted
NORTHERN IRELAND: voted Remain, getting special treatment
GIBRALTAR: voted Remain, getting special treatment
      SCOTLAND: voted Remain, getting nothing

Seems plenty of Scots were more than willing to take their 30 pieces of silver. Or maybe they were just pragmatists and knew the benefits of Union outweighed all else.
I see the nobility (still clinging to their titles despite their distaste for union) have much to say. Perhaps too much.
Still, the money was too good to turn down.
    Patriotism eh!
