- A compilation of ways to lose in I'm on Observation Duty 6, a rather fun spot the difference sort of game where you report changes in scenes before four anomalies become active. Additionally, there are intruders (or other anomalies) that may be able to kill you if ignored for too long.
It kind of seems like the majority of these are walking or rushing the camera to try for a more "scary"(?) sort of jumpscare instead of the goofier versions in the past. The deaths are just a minor point of the game and the gameplay, as always, is solid. When you lose you can find out what room and type of anomalies were active but not when you win. I wish it had kept the "X out of Y anomalies" format to know if you found them all on a successful run. Overall though, I enjoyed myself and look forward to the next game!
A few of these are unusual compared to previous games. The Hotel level Bar intruder zooms in but nothing happens until you report for the first time. The creature in the Pool level Shower room if ignored attacks you on a different camera. The University Lobby robed guy doesn't spawn until you report the anomaly with his painting.

i do like how the sound after the jumpscares imply that instead of killing you, they instead irreparably break the camera, quite literally disarming you and making you incapable of spotting and therefore fixing any further anomalies in that area
makes a lot more sense than them somehow killing you through the cameras even though youre presumably in a safe location far from any of the actual anomalies
I'm pretty sure abyss and distortions kill through the screen though, along with some ghost and stuff, but yeah it's the first time the series imply that some regular anomalies just destroy the cameras
@@tommywang948 i feel like distortions just completely and utterly destroy the cameras first by spaghettifying them and then by literally ripping them off their mounts and into a certain point

@@tommywang948 i feel like its more so you being forced to watch it because the distortion is also affecting your eyesight and causing you to be unable to grab your mouse/keyboard and switch the cameras
The Sauna Intruder is by far the most aggressive, and speed anomaly than others
Weirdly enough that's the only time I encountered it. The lumberjack would pop up almost every run.
That because the Sauna Intruder's appearance is so rare and he can instant game over you
I've played the Cottage level three times so far and I've encountered the Sauna intruder twice already and I haven't seen the lumberjack even once lol
For some reason Sauna guy is hilarious to me. Something about the AAAAAAAA
he’s also the only jumpscare that truly made me flinch, something about his face, the sound and how quickly he jumps at the camera

Probably the first time this series has had actually decent models and animation. Nice
I always felt like the older models gave the game a more uncanny feel (also a bit goofy at times) but the new ones are great too!

Observation Duty always went for a more uncanny route with intruders. These are meant to give you more of a scare, but at times they still have more of that uncanny feeling.

Note: an abyss can spawn in the university’s lab. It happens to insym one of his sessions (the one where he saw huge man for the first time) but it didn’t kill him, and it probably could have
Yeah, I found a few abyss presences and let most of them grow but I didn't get a death with any of them. I'm not 100% sure but I think if you can't switch cameras for a distortion or abyss presence then it's a fatal one if not reported, otherwise it's just another anomaly. This seemed to hold true in the fifth game and in this game for distortions.
I like how calling huge man a intruder pisses him of. Dude just wanted recognition.

I'll be honest- I find these ghosts/paranormal things more funny than I do scary XP I mean seriously you could add your own vocals to what's going on in these situations to make them hilarious-

Definitely, it just feels compared to the goofy spasming and silly faces of the previous games' jumpscares that they were aiming for "scary" but still comes across as goofy. At the same time, I've always been entertained by the jumpscares regardless of how silly they look.

i think the bride was the only intruder that properly scared me, but then again the angry ghost bride trope is pretty hard to mess up imo, so take that for what it's worth i guess lol.

First lobby intruder is by far the most chill. He was just standing there and simply didn’t like being watched for so long.
I love how the entrance intruder's head snaps back. Seeing it the first time was scarier than everything else.
The shower/poolside intruder was probably the scariest in my opinion
This is the first time that theres more than one distortion that can kill you in this series
at least you have ample time to report them
The first time this series introduces different ghosts instead of just suited or naked guys.
I like how distortion is just a camera just slam in front which make sense

I like how most intruders has more personal and intelligent than the vest dudes ftom previous game, more aggressive, real emotional screams and even actual cam destroying attempts., not just twitching like crazy

So when I was trying to do all killable anomalies video, I actually missed one which is Classroom intruder. I have to find that.
By the way, Sauna intruder in Summer cottage actually starts in Backyard. If you take too long to report it in the backyard, it’ll move to Sauna and that’s where it’ll attack you.
Thanks for the note about the Sauna Intruder - I hardly noticed it even when it was at the Sauna so I must have really overlooked it for the backyard.
The Classroom intruder should be fairly common as he showed up a lot for me but I guess it's ultimately RNG.

You missed the Banshee making her appearance at the University courtyard. Like, the cue is seeing her floating on top of the building - and if you switch away without reporting her, she'll jumpscare and game over you when you switch back

I might not be remembering correctly but you might need to do a normal report and when that fails open the menu to see it.
