I mentioned it to my wife that I want one. I’m rated in a helicopter and I own a Cessna 206 but I’m thinking of getting rid of that and having a gyrocopter I think the wife doesn’t like the idea.
Hey you ! Did you built this AutoGyro COMPLETELY yourself ? I really Always wanted to own my Own Aircraft! You know I am A good TIG WELDER SO I CAN PRODUCE THE AIRFRAME OUT OF SCRAP ALUMINIUM The Central Axle has to be stainless steel piping!? Do you have blue prints from your : : GYROCOPTER(WINDMILL PRINCIPLE) IT'S just what helicopter pilots do when they loose their engine put it in a dive so that you get forward momentum amd adjust angle from the rotorblades
I'm not the builder. That's my friend in the pilot seat. It's made from special aviation grade aluminium. There are no welds on the frame, most of it is held together with bolts and brackets. Simple and strong, that's the best way 🤙
On a gyrocopter, the rotors utilize a starter motor and corresponding geared "ring" to bring the rotors up to flying speed prior to powering-up the engine to flying speed which are known as a "pre-rotator" system. Presently there are NO gyros flying where the rotor blades are directly powered by an engine, but (!), I have a design where the rotors are powered and may finish my tests in the next few years as I'm currently in the process of deciding to use a 2 or 4 blade system and which airfoil to use if I use the 4 blade system. Time will tell, as well as consumer interest, will determine which design will be released first, since I've had interest in both so far.
Action gives an equal reaction, there is NO sideways/turning momentum. The vertical rotor is NOT DRIVEN by a motor, it spins because of air moving over the blades, creating lift when it moves forward. The only powered part is the horizontal pushing propellor.
Too many things that can go wrong and need maintenance with helos especially in end times. I’m trust a low consumption fuel engine and a 40 ft wing span and tail wing any day. At least if my engine kills out I can glide to the ground Instead of hoping for the best.
@@Zaphodbeeblebrox01 this is a gyro, it's very low maintenance and simple and it can land without engine (I've had a few emergency landings before). They cost $62 a year to register in Australia and this one burns 20 litres per hour or up to 25 if revving hard.
@ I know what it is I remember seeing them in the late 70S and no you’re not landing this without power unless you lose power about 2 meters above ground haha. This is a death machine never claim anything else even the original creator Acknowledged this
@ Completely wrong, I have had the engine quit at 100ft and at 800ft, both times I glided down and landed perfectly. Sometimes I fly for hours just doing 0 power landing drills over and over. Don't you understand that the main rotor flies with 0 power anyway? Can you see any drive shaft going to the rotor? ;)
@Zaphodbeeblebrox01 so when my engine quit at 800ft it was all a dream and I died and am now in an alternative universe? Have you researched how a gyrocopter flies? Is every video of a gyro doing an engine off landing faked by AI?
The control is by tilting the rotor. Tilting the rotor will result in a turn. Tilting it forward or backward will cause it to discend or climb. Changing the throttle setting will also affect the altitude. Assuming this is in the USA the minimal size and structure is due to the constraints of FAA part 103 regulating ultralight vehicles. Yes this is a vehicle not an aircraft. Rules governing these vehicles are different from those for aircraft. What this means is you do not need a pilot’s certificate (“license”) to operate these vehicles. Please get flight training before flying in your own gyroplane vehicle!

One of the safest air vehicles ever made. Their performance is amazing. The rotor is not powered. Forward flight makes it spin. Super stable platform.

@meanstreetsuk sim, como um avião. São asas rotativas, não é como um helicóptero que o motor dá o torque nas pás.

Straight outa Road Warrior.
It's a gyrocopter,safe very standard design
I love the lawn mower sound.
Good job nice landing!
It's my friend max test flying 🤠
Gyros really making rotor sounds like a Huey,..love it
Le Dernier Combat - Luc Besson i really liked the movie.
Great landing dude!
Wow awesome job. Love it and that’s some mighty fine flying 👍👍👍
I love the two 0.5 candlepower lights upfront
nice landing !
Great landing 🛬
Glad ur friend had head protection
Plays rust one time

Excellent landing.
Holy crap, a WORKING, homemade copter.. I'd feel better with a cage to sit in, even if largely unwarranted peace of mind, but still.. good job
Can I get plans?

Incredible how was it made by a single person, furthermore the whole african aircraft aviation is no match for this masterpiece.

Just be careful with the rotors, you wont know if you installed them correctly, but this guy did.
