Agreed, I feel like that's what the writers probably had in mind when they wrote the question but most of the panel didn't quite make the connection that was intended.
The funny thing is that the contestant's answer of RD wasn't a great answer at that moment, but now RD is so well known for hosting FF that the contestant's answer would have been near perfect just two years later.
The Encino motel joke got old a long time ago, Brett! I don't think AJ meant any offense Richard! It's always a hard question when they use one of the celebrities in the question.
"Coffin" wasn't a bad answer at all. It might even have been a better answer than "corpse." If you saw someone with a dead body in the back of their car, you'd probably assume they're a murderer, not an undertaker.

Yeah, that goofy Richard Dawson answer to the Betty White question was dumb. But Richard handled it with...either grace for giving him hope that he would win...or shade for giving him hope that he was gonna win...lol.
