the software quality of lazer is an absolute anomaly to observe in the current landscape. not only incredible engineering but everything else is so high quality too, it just keeps inspiring me.
If ppy didn't care about OSU we wouldn't have any work going after 10 years To think that even after this long time ppy is still as motivated and thoughtful about OSU if not more is crazy Ppy respect through the roof

1:36 this is such a small change but i actually really appreciate it, i was starting to miss just being able to see my stats on the song select without having to click on anything and i feel like the inclusion of this feature brings a nice middle ground of showing the changes immediately after submitting a play while letting you still click on the profile for more info and fitting the existing design/layout
The one thing that makes me feel uncomfortable playing lazer, is that I'm too accustomed with the "F9" stats, Knowing when and if someone is online (in the client, not only on the website), playing a song, etc... I miss that A LOT, the social aspect of the game is very important imo
I hope it's reconsidered along with every mod multiplier almost. Many of Bikko's SS's haven't been replicated in years and shouldn't get beat by just any 99% scores just because sliderhead acc is a thing. I'm a 5 digit, I shouldn't be able to farm #1s beating 9yr old SS #1s with a 99% score lol. I also beat a #1 3mod score with HDDT and lower acc than the rest of the classic HDDT as well.
I love lazer, fully switched to it a couple weeks back. One thing i'm missing is this: Using osu's tablet drivers, i cannot right click using my pen, i also couldnt find any remaps from "tablet pen 2 -> right click" things. I love using right click to absolute scroll too, would love to remap that to the pen ty
this is a lot of people's only complaint with lazer, I've made a discussion on GitHub a while ago and really hope it gets fixed soon. It won't though, because external tablet drivers exist and therefore this is probably really low on their priority list.
I'm so glad I switched over to lazer. It took a few days to adapt as such when I swapped over to a tablet and I fully expected some resets to occur so I used the time to improve my overall accuracy. It can be surprisingly simple yet complex depending on how easy you get overwhelmed. Im still discovering new features like skin customization. One gripe I have is when I download a beatmap from the web I have to go into stable and then transfer it over. The website is still a better place to view beatmaps all together as it's more accurate to your search. Mostly looking forward to return to medal hunting though and maybe one day we can get more areas with custom skin ability like results and menu. Edit: Thank you all for the valuable input!

I hope peppy or some other lazer dev read this, but regarding Taiko skin exploits: Is something like the big note skin possible on lazer? It's an exploit that exploited (I think it's patched in stable already) the game not checking whether gameplay elements were too big, the taiko circles were made twice (or more) the size and made the HR mod was made infinitely easier to read like this on taiko. By making your resolution a absurd aspect ratio, like 5:1 and having bigger notes would make it read like nomod.
you should definitely post any suggestions to either the github, osu forums, or the subreddit. no dev is gonna look here unfortunately. im not sure which of the 3 is best so take a look at all of them and find out for yourself
I have been playing almost exclusively Lazer for nearly 2 years now, all I need before I am ready to start farming and fixing my rank after being away from Stable for so long is custom DT speeds giving ranked, osu! is genuinely in such a good place these days, Mrekk vs Akolibed and the world has been crazy, the tournament side of things has been amazing, Lazer has been making strides, it is just generally such a good time to be a fan of osu!. Amazing work to all the people working on Lazer!

Will we ever have the normal file system for Songs like in stable? It's a major pain when I download beatmap pack zip files online and can't conveniently unzip them into the game

Idk if you take suggestions from the comment section but its worth a shot. Im sorry for pestering peppy of twitter but i think this should be changed to make leaderboard make sense for majority of players. Thats just to buff DT modifier by 0.05 since, while accuracy is important, it doesent account for the skill it takes to play the map in the first place. Just buffing the DT modifier would be nice. I really like the changes that have happend and i already think lazer is dramatically better than stable, but smalk things like this are necessary I feel.

I don't see what the issue with the dot is, personaly I like it as it ties in with the default osu! lazer skin, the bigger issue is that stable players don't recognise it.

Multiplayer lobbies without dying/reviving as well as having a side leaderboard that you cant keep expanded just makes the lazer multi experience so dull that it keeps me and probably many other away. It's really my main gripe about the game right now but i get there's a lot of things being worked on, keep up the great work!
when can we actually edit skin elements? i cant even do something so simple as change the cursor on a skin without having to import to to stable, change the file(/s), exporting and reimporting to lazer... in comparison, in stable, its as easy as opening skin folder, copying and pasting needed element into the skin and pressing ctrl+shift+s

I dont care about small questions like.. how the universe was created but I really want to know the reasoning behind the score system because I cant even imagine it. Also let me remind you about the definition of a cheater: "someone who has an unfair advantage". Not that I care but I see no point in showing scores from Lazer in osu! classic. If they want to see ours and feel better by cheating and to give the impression that there are not alone playing Lazer then fine with me but from my view its spam or unwanted information. Lazer as it works now is a built in and allowed cheat.
In my opinion OSU mobile has so much potential to be a really really big game, but it needs to be separated from OSU on Pc, give OSU mobile an option to have buttons so people can click like they do on keyboard and make the screen smaller for players to aim with their fingers, that will just make playing OSU on mobile much more enjoyable
Just a question: can you add textbox for sliders in lazer? The sliders are difficult to work with on higher mouse sensitivities and smaller tablet areas
iirc the team said they are aware of this and it would come eventually (alternatively for now you can hover your cursor over the slider nub and press the arrow buttons)

I love that the blinds mod I PRd ages ago is still supported and even gives pp now, even though I haven't touched it - open source is so great!

You can just disabled the built-in and use your normal tablet driver.
