Ahh...... Tularosa is my home town. I have been in Alamogordo for the last 16 years. I moved to Tularosa in 1985 at the age of 15 and graduated in 1989 from Tuli High School. I lived and worked in Tularosa for about 15 years. Worked for the police department for a few years and was a volunteer firefighter for a few years. Beautiful place and great people.
Howdy neighbor, I'm parked on the other side of White Sands at Elephant Butte Lake. I quit rolling when i got to the Lake!! Hey you got to the neighborhood just in time, because Richard Branson might take to space this coming weekend. Spaceport America is just to the south of you and over the mountain. You will hear Branson's ride from there.
Glad you returned to New Mexico after tending to your utilities in Texas. We've had a lot of rain lately with rain daily in the forecast. Cooler temps. Mr Rusty, the Franklin Mountains are in El Paso, TX. What you are referencing are the Sacramento Mountains, where Alamogordo and Tularosa are. Should you wish to stay in the mountains, there is 16 Springs RV Park. It's in the mountains between Cloudcroft and Mayhill, in a beautiful area away from a lot of people, has cell service. Glad you're back to these stomping grounds. Best gas prices in Alamogordo are on White Sands Blvd near Walmart or at the small Walmart off of Indian Springs Rd.
This high desert has a uniqe charm. Enjoy your time here, Amigo. I remember the pistachio orchard trip you took us on. That place was nice. I love pistachios!
I know it a place to enjoy be at peace and relaxing. For that beer 30 and that glass of wine and snack at the end of the day. And a nice reading book for you. So happy you are there. See you in a bit for the beautiful place you have taken us too. Heres to you my friend! 360 view i can not wait.
Thank you so much for going through Tularosa. My heart will always be there as it is my home town.I use to work at al a mars but was called Bob & Joes, before that, A&W. If you have a chance, stop at Loredos. They have the best mexican food. Have a good day Rusty.
as a tularosa native myself hearing him shoutout the things to do around here was pretty cool. in alamogordo as well theres all sorts of newer businesses opening up again. we have an actual video arcade with other things like air hockey and pool again. a new bowling alley/restaurant opened up a few years ago next to the movie theater and then theres nature stuff to do as well, bike trails walking trails car trails. you can get a bison burger if you wanna try one. good places for star gazing if you have a telescope most nights are perfect. small area but there is stuff to do if you actually like to go out and do stuff
I moved here 2 years ago the 1 of July. This to me is just like you said in your video. Have 5 acres east of Alamogordo & a great view of the Sacramento Mts. to the east. Put my travel trailer on it and use it as base camp.
I get the notion that you're thinking this part of NM would be your best home base, and that's smart thinkin'. I love the Hill Country, but that heat'll just beat a person down over time. NM heat is much more tolerable and your options for scenery are a bit better. As long as there's a decent BBQ place and good New Mexican food to be had, that Tularosa Basin might be the place.
I lived in Tularosa for a while it's a nice little sleepy town. I lived in a little RV park on the south end of town. I rented a old travel trailer that was plenty big for me and loved it.
Rusty. Have you ever done a hard stop with the motor home with and without Sparky to see how it handles Incase of an emergency stop? I have with my vehicles over the years. Glad you made it safely.
Now Now Rusty, your "Passive, Agressive, Agressive" nature's showing brother. Bicyclists have every right to be in their "Lane" and from what I saw, he was. I applaud bicyclists who do so, it's only the one's who interfere with the flow of the road, which annoy me from a safety stand point. We need more folks on Bicycles, as well as "Lanes" and Roads which can safely accomodate them. They're also getting outside, enjoying nature and aerobic exercise to boot ! Happy Travels & be watchful of not only Bicycles, but Scooters, Electric Skateboards, and motorcycles.
Do you ever get pulled over in New Mexico? In my experience, if you have Texas plates you are a TARGET and they LOVE to pull you over and give you a ticket.

interesting...thanks!
Branson will be flying on July 11th. Big noise in the sky will be then.

Thank you for the road trip nice looking country love the temperature. It's 97 here in Newman California. Hot!
My Dad was born in Tularosa. Way back 1900, pretty rough place back then. Summer temps. higher than Capitan but low humidity makes it tolerable.

It is beautiful there today.
We call it Tully.
Hi from here in Clovis N.M. Been to White Sands and love it!
I lived in Tularosa for a while it's a nice little sleepy town. I lived in a little RV park on the south end of town. I rented a old travel trailer that was plenty big for me and loved it.
Hi! Considering moving to Tularosa. How was the safety? Did you feel safe and comfortable during your time there?
Tularosa???????? Hope your AC works well. Good luck and safe travels Rusty!!!

The franklin mountains are at el paso, tx.
Is a nice area. I loved the Lowe's supermarket in 10th street in Alamogordo. The daily fresh made bread is super
Tularosa is cool three rivers park is cool .I like Tularosa.
I worked at horseman's park in tularosa. I.moved back to Chicago in 2012.
Glad you are finally destinated! (Is that a real word?) Enjoy your stay, until you get the itch again. 😜
Seems to be a lot to see and do in the area. The goat should be happy there
It seems easy to get lost in NM. The Highway signs a small and hard to read if you can find one. 👍
So…… Tularosa instead of Alamagorda?? Ha ha. I didn’t miss it by much on my guess…. 14 miles….. have fun.
Have a good trip Rusty!
Hi from Alamogordo.
They are the Sacramento mountains
No GPS to locate the RV park? Hard to live without them, I think.
google maps
TULAROSA. It is named thus for its abundance of tulips and roses.

That used to be a 2 lane road. Was in Ruidoso a week or so ago. 👍👍😎🇺🇸 MPGs. Money talks and bs walks.🤔🤔😳😳😁😁😂😂😂
Rusty, did you get the electrician out before you left?
We don’t need no stinking badge! Remember that it was a western movie.

Is there any fishing close by?

👍
My old buddy is chief of police there.
I just added to my gas tank here in Encino Los Angeles. It's a little more here at 4.15 per gallon. What do expect in the arm pit of the country😎😎😎
👍👍👍👍👍🙏❤️
I love the NM sky, but the green chile everything is a little too much for my stomach and mouth.

Hi Rusty
