    The organizing part was good, but what was really moving and interesting was the organization you are sewing for. I think it would be great if that section of the video was its own video so it reaches more people. So inspiring and moving. Makes me want to look for a cause, where I can apply my skills and help out. Thank you

      Thank you for the suggestion. The hard part is that it's hard for me talk about it without getting teary. My daughter took a bunch of kits with her for her trip to Africa. We're excited to hear about how that goes.

    My goodness you have a great point about buying fabric that never gets used. It isn’t a great deal anymore if I never use it. I’m new to sewing and I’ve developed a bad bad habit of buying fabric. It’s addictive. So many beautiful choices.

    I have never heard that women and girls in some of these countries have to endure hardships just getting period supplies. It is maddening and I so appreciate you sharing this organization and issue with us. I will be checking their website out right away. As for as your organization of sewing supplies, ugh!! You’ve convicted me for sure! It is 3:30am here and I am trying to organize my sewing room right now. I figured if I take out all of my other crafty things I’d have more room for my sewing stuff. Well, so far I’ve just made a mess in other parts of my house trying to find a good spot to put it all and my sewing room is still torn apart. 🤦🏼‍♀️😢

    LOVE LOVE LOVE that top shelf box for your "Projects". I have shoulder issues from reaching to high over my head. I'm thinking, a little fabric pull tab secured at the bottom front edge of my boxes on the top shelf might have saved my shoulder! May I ask WHERE did that box tray come from?

    • @maryloubailey
      @maryloubailey  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I love your idea of the fabric pull tab. I've had that box for years. It was a Christmas box that I found at a small town craft store that has long since closed down. I miss those kinds of places. Thanks so much for watching and sharing your idea.

    This is the second video I’ve watched about organising a craft room; I subscribed after the one on organising paper craft and love both. You are a sincere down to earth lady and I love the passion in your voice with your charity work. Personal hygiene that we take for granted should not be a stressful thing for women to obtain - I understand your anger when you talk about the men controlling things and looking for “favours”. Omg, don’t get me started!! We also have a charity here in Australia for the same thing, it’s invaluable. Bless you MaryLou, you are a “true blue” sweetheart. Thank you

    What a great organizing video of your pretty sewing room. Such a great organization you are part of by sewing the holders for these girls and women. Your kindness comes through your video in many ways. I’m going to look up and see if I can help as well. Thank you for telling all of us about it.

      Thank you for your kind comments. I'm so glad you are going to check into Days for Girls. There is so much that each person can do. My daughter took 10 of these kits with her to Africa so she can personally give them to women she finds who needs them. It made us feel so good to be able to help in that way too.

    Thank you for sharing about the charity. We take so much for granted and aren't aware of what's going on elsewhere like this topic. I used to sew a lot and still have lots of fabrics, etc., but I'm getting some fresh ideas about things to make. I used to enjoy making my kids pajamas and also making doll clothes so those might be fun to pick up again now that the kids are grown. New sub from your tips videos, too. Thanks for sharing.

    Hi MaryLou. This is my first time to your channel. You are such a delight to watch. Where do you purchase your doll patterns ? I love to save tins and use them throughout my sewing room. Reminds me of my mom who used tins in her sewing room, especially for a large array of buttons. I'll have to check out your other videos.

    • @maryloubailey
      @maryloubailey  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Welcome and thank you! My mom used tins in her sewing room too. I bought several doll patterns at the fabric store. My daughters and I scoured the "craft" part of the pattern books and picked out several when they were on sale for 99 cents and we've been using them for years. I also like the doll clothes books by JoAnn Hines. She has some great ideas.

    I like the idea of limiting my space for something. I have a tendency to overbuy. When I limit my storage space for items, I am controlling my unnecessary spending. It also forces me to use my supplies rather than look at them and let buyer's regret sink in.
