My man, this was incredibly helpful. I am a certified automobile idiot, I barely know how to put in the gas, but when my driver’s side window switch popped off, repeatedly, it was time. Watched your video, ordered a legitimate OEM part from Porsche ($208, thank you very little, instead of the $25 one from China, but what the hell… it makes me feel better in a weird way). I also bought that trim kit from Amazon or eBay, it’s about seven bucks. Who even knew they made such a thing? I actually used it to help me pop off the armrest, mine was in so tight, it was likely installed by the Incredible Hulk. But everything else worked very smoothly. Only difference is I checked all the switches after I plugged the door panel switch back in and before I reinstalled everything to make sure everything worked, it did. Thanks again!!
On my 2010 base Cayenne, all you have to do is pry up the switch panel itself on the armrest and undo the electrical connection, and then there are three screws, holding the outside plastic cover on the switch panel and then just replace it with your new switch and pop it in and that’s all there is to it. There was no removing of the armrest at all.
Thanks for the video but you actually don’t need to remove the panel you can just remove the window switch itself by using a thin wedge object. I have a 2014 and that may be a different year though
Tutorial worked on 2012 Cayenne. Part was maybe $17, got it installed in less than 2 mins. Can’t imagine how much the shop would have charged me. I’m a woman btw. Lol
