Love the choice you made for content. Really look forward to the videos on fixing the f430 spider problems. Lots of f430s out there with probably at least one of the problems on yours. I’m hoping for lots of videos on repairs. 👍😀
I think it's a great project car for you guys to convert to manual, fix up and sell. You will still make you money on the back end but will create a lot of content on the front end. If you do detailed video's of the work it will not only create value in this car, but show the quality of work you continue to offer at the dealership. Also it would be very interesting to see exactly what goes into the manual conversion.
congrats , love my 08' spider ! that cracked / broken part on the top left of the top- common issue BTW ( the cracked part ) you can get NEW fr UK for $800 ( dealer in USA wants $2500 ? ) LOL Local chap who does magnesium wheel repair says he can fix the cracked part , weld it up for $60.00 incl refinishing to OEM look !! let me know if you would like to try it he can do mine @ same time ! found out tops are commonly replaced by local upholstery shops ! no need for dealer ! and some guys even do them DIY ! ( so you could find an upholstery shop that does tops and get a youtube segment of them replacing the top or even do a tutorial HOW TO DIY video of replacing an F430 top ! ( PLEASE DO ! ) tops are basically same as in the horse and buggy days ! two pieces of black canvas w/ a sheet of rubber in between ( of course , the top actuation systems are automated now ! electric / hydraulic ) and there are elastic straps under the between the canvas lower and the liner of the top that need replenishment / replacement periodically ! Trivia Ferrari used a plastic flexible window as they did not want the weight of glass up high ! LOL I'm thinking a clever guy could make 2 or 3 part gorilla glass w/ horizontal plastic tape hinges . !!! ( they do this on some cars as OEM ) otherwise you just replace the OEM plastic rear window w/ a new top replacement
The reason the top is not stowing is because there is a bar in the top that needs to shift aft and it's not doing that. You need to replace the elastic straps that are worn out. Very common on these tops.
I've been watching your channel for a while and your own journey with your original F430 and then the 458. You influenced me to get my own F430 just a couple of months ago. I've found your informational videos really useful and informative. I'd love to see you fix this one up and see how you did it. Reading through the comments so far, I think the majority of us would like to see you repair it rather than sell as it is, and that's definitely my vote.
Would love to see you guys rebuilding the hydraulic top! Been lusting over the F430 Spider, the upcoming video could give me some sort of assurance in getting one sometime down the line. Dream car!
Had a similar issue on my f430 - It was the hydraulic pump and cost around $3k to get rebuilt. The hydraulic fluid would leak onto the headers and cause a ton of smoke but it is worth fixing. I would fix it dan and sell it
Dan All that stuff that needs repairs is basically how my car was, when I first took delivery it. Of course mine is a coupe. They took all the books and tools, the flash light out of the glove compartment. Repairs were R fuel pump, motor & trans. mounts, dash vents warped, brakes pads, clutch, red paint flaking off the intake manifold, all that was way over 25k. Then I bought used Novitec wheels on ebay, and a Novitec exhaust 10k Now the right front wheel 3pc is leaking air. It's not the tire. The Pirelli tire is brand new, so it's the wheel that's leaking. It's been a money pit. I'm afraid to drive it far, thinking what else is going to break. I feel like Matt, who bought that 360 from CNC, only difference is I have the title. The car was 88k in 2000 when I bought it. I'm approaching 50% of what I paid for the car, in repairs.
You guys are the best! When you asked which cars the viewer’s would like you to get, I said the F430 Spider. That’s the exact car I have. Mine doesn’t have any of the problems that one has other than my top just quit going up. I’m hoping you would do a vid on the top problem before someone grabs it. Nice work NGS!
I guessed right on insta! I said you're picking up an F430 for conversion. Definitely keep the car and fix everything, then convert and sell. Will be way more profit margin in that vs. selling it to someone as is. Not to mention the additional money from the content you can create with it (which was the whole point of shifting your model for the channel in the first place). Looking forward to the upcoming videos. I've never been a convertible fan in general, and the top will inevitably break and require expensive repairs...but to each their own.

Decent spec. Just replace the bad mounts and fix the roof and someone will have a heck of a DD F430 Spider. Then they can fix the cosmetic issues over time. It's a shame that the original owners didn't have a full PPF on it, because that probably could have saved $5k-$10k in damage/touch ups.
Still a beautiful car and beautiful spec with the tan Daytona seats with red inserts. If I had the money I would buy one of these in a heartbeat but I’ll stick with getting a Ducati. Same Italian thrills but at a tenth of the price.
