Thanks for the video. I have a couple of questions. 1.How do we import pdk stack up in hfss? For example in EMX we use the proc file. 2.Can you compare the reliability of EMX , HFSS ,ADS and Sonnet?
1. In the video I manually enter the layer height and thickness. That's one option. You could also make an .amat file and a .tech file but that approach I may cover in a later video. 2. I only use EMX and HFSS. For frequency above 30 GHz EMX is not as reliable. HFSS, if setup correctly, is the most reliable.
Fantastic video. I understand that a ground is required for the lumped port, but why do we use a ring? Furthermore, when implementing this inductor in layout, will it require the same ring?
A good start is to use the Cadence inductor models to get the starting dimensions. Then work with design optimization. See my video titled Antennas and Arrays 02.
@@adityavarmamuppala I modeled a low frequency inductor last week and the Impedance plot looks correct. It seems like something I should be able to do in Q3D, as I can view the L, C and R, but I can't get it to plot the Z.
Hi Aditya, thank you so much for this wonderful video. It is quite instructive. Could you please make a video to show how to import S-parameters to ADS?
Thank you so much. This tutorial is so clear and useful to a beginner!!!!! ♥
Looking formard to the optimization part!!! Thank you!
thanks a lot! waiting for the second video.
It's beautiful to see how you use hfss's 3D...

Thanks a lot for the great video. How can do you calculate the value that you entered for width, Length, and thickness? can you describe the process?

Thanks for sharing
Great video by the way. So, when you plot the impedance, it's calculating Z from the coil inductance and the self capacitance?
Yes, that's correct.

There are many youtube tutorials about that.
Thanks alot
Most welcome
how did you do that calculation to get a perfect hexagon?
geometry and patience!
how can i improve de Q factor ?
please upload the second video also
Thanks for the video but where is the second part T-T
I will make a separate one soon enough. You can get an idea of it from this video: th-cam.com/video/bVfZkiY_1NM/w-d-xo.html
