    Man great video of my home NJT rail line, I never knew that Comet V #6016 paid a visit to the ACL!! I really hope that the ACL comes out for Train Sim one of these days.

    I road the train opening day to AC, there was a lot of press on the train.
    I'm not familiar with the station you keep showing, is that in Philly? I thought the only stop in philly was 30th street.
    I have rarely been west of CH and when I have it was at night.

    These are old tracks right? Or in a sense do the no transit on the ac line operate on old tracks

    • @Saxshoe
      @Saxshoe 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Practically, all the lines that NJT operates on are 50+ years old. The exceptions are the Kearny, Aldene, Hunter and Waterfront connections, the meadowlands sprur and the three light rail systems

    I saw diesel 4209 zoom pass by me at the Ashland station, it was going westbound to Philly. I even recorded it.

    • @NJT4211
      @NJT4211  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It was going Northbound to Philly on the ACL the direction is either north or south. Thanks for the comment!

      @@NJT4211 No problem. I thought the directions was east and westbound, doesn't it say that on the announcements at Pennsauken Transit center? Plus, now that I think about it, when they announce that a train is late, it would say westbound to Philly or eastbound to AC terminal.

    Why does the ACL still use GP40PH-2s?

    • @NJT4211
      @NJT4211  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Because the PL42's are way too heavy for that line and it really wouldn't make sense to put the ALP-45-DP's down here as well.

    • @trans-galactic-express

      @@NJT4211 Thanks. It's my favorite engine, so it's good news to me that they'll be staying there.

      @@NJT4211 well the ACL realistically doesn't need the DP locomotives, because none of the line restricts diesel use like in North River tunnels, Harold Interlocking or Penn station. Also I'm not sure much of the line outside 30th St. Penn is electrified

      @@NJT4211 When I first went down to 30th Street station back in 2015 when Amtrak used to have Amtrak train days at that time and at that same time for ACL, their were GP40's, PL42's & ALP-45DP's then. I think that was the last time they'd put them on the line. What about P40BH "Ex-Amtrak P40/42?

    • @amjkodaz

    With Atlantic City a skeleton of what it once was, why have train service? A couple of buses would be a heck of a lot cheaper. Oh wait. This is NJ. This is the Northeast. Here, spending taxpayer dollars is a blood sport.

    • @NJT4211
      @NJT4211  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It does have potential but NJT doesn't really want to put anything into it like building the AC Airport Station and adding more trains would do people aren't going to wanna wait 2hrs for a train so that's why more people take the bus or just drive down.

    • @amjkodaz
      @amjkodaz 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A lot of gamblers actually ride the train, which is most of the profit from the line

    • @0prismatic0

      @@NJT4211 If the infrastructure was better (like adding a second track), more trains could totally run out of it. It could be a viable commuter option for people headed to either terminus.
      But I guess having a good rail network isn't the rage these days

    • @penskepc2374
      @penskepc2374 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Buses dont have the same potential as in the same type of people dont ride them. Anyone with common sense knows that.
