Lyrics have been made later in 1954 based on the texts used by Charlie Chaplin in the movie Modern Times. Interesting and important movie in which Charlie Chaplin comments on the bad aspects of the Industrial Revolution and the suffering of many people during the Great Depression. In the movie he tries to work as a factory worker in a factory with big dangerous machines. And then he falls in love with recently orphaned barefoot girl, Ellen.
