Very good presentation! Here's a feature of Active Backup for Business that you missed: ABB can back up VMware VMs running on the free version of ESXi, the version with the backup API disabled. It even uses changed block tracking to minimize the size of backups after the first. ABB does this using SSH, which needs to be enabled on the ESXi host, and an addition to each VM's .vmx file. For those folks with a Synology NAS, there may be little reason to use any other hypervisor. Synology rocks!

Any chance you can explain the retensions in a video? I am used to Veeam retensions and don't unterstand the retensions that ABB uses. :(

Im using active business very activly for my company. Active Business Backup also runs on AMD processors. We have the Synology RS2423+. Backing up several physical computers. 3 ESXI hosts in total with 28 vm's. In the DSM Gui it always takes up to 30 seconds if i click on active business backup to show me the interface. But one of the reasons for us was the restore option. Restoring a VM over a 1gb lan connection is extreme slow. This one has 10gb nic integrated. Good Video!!! still amazed it's "free"

That’s a fair point. I *should have* said x86-64 architecture, and not Intel! Thanks for pointing that out!

ABB is great, but really needs the feature to only backup specific folders and files from a device. I don't always need full system backups for all my devices.

indeed, @@2GuysTek in the PC/MAC section there is only Windows , MAC , Tasks
but section [physical server] (i use the german version) there is a Linux tab.
So YES BUT: "Your kernel version is 6.1.0-11-amd64, and the latest supported kernel version for the Synology Active Backup for Business Agent is 5.13" so actually NO
