If you have solid mechanical skills you can tell if you're doing good work. Learning how it works, in other words, what does it do & how does it do it, you can do anything you have equipment for. Still, building an aircraft at their house, that's not someone yer gonna find on every block. Well done lads, well done.
@@markrobbins9552 that and making sure nothing falls apart or flies away. The blades themselves need to be able to move at directions and you need lots of linkages for that. Theres also making sure everything's connected and your engine won't fail you or your transmission

You always check seatbelt first. I don't have a helicopter but I know that u should always wear seatbelt before starting the engine and take it off when engine is not turned on.
I have never seen a helicopter start up like this. It sounded like you have some sort of electric motor linked to the rotor directly and you spin up the rotor and then at some rpm you engage a clutch and the engine starts up and provides the main power. Is this a correct assessment?
It looked extremely dangerous until he took off and the chopper looked extremely stable and his flying skills are amazing. It handles like a professionally made chopper that they use for rounding up animals on large stations in outback Australia.
Only thing about helicopters if they stall out you are fucked you fall out of the sky like a ton of bricks! Not like a small plane that you can glide with!!
@@brianmck7363 no I've seen a number of videos on how to glide helicopters that have lost power.... apparently the force of the air as the helicopter loses altitude is sufficient to continue spinning the blades and allows for a controlled descent

i am am impressed how powerful and accurate this engine moves. there is a lot of more possibilitys in this basic helicopter. The smooth soundings with small vibrations and direct power axles to the rotors without any disturbing extra sound and move behavements. makes this to a real professional engine. gratulations.
Never even been up close to a helicopter in my life....I think it's because they terrify me....and watching a guy do this with a homemade helicopter did not do anything to change that. That took some big brass balls...hats off to this guy.

My uncle was a Navy helicopter crew chief and also went out on rescue missions, you know, pulling pilots out of the drink and my cousin flew a C-130 during Desert Shield and Desert Storm. They both would not argue this statement but sometimes it does take a bold pilot to get the job done and some failed. Anyways, my hat's off to all the bold pilots and all the old pilots.
I appreciate their service. I spent 5 years in the Marines and I am currently in flight school. I have flown helicopters for 2 years now and understand just how dangerous they can be. This guy was a bit of a showoff, but pilots can be an arrogant bunch sometimes.
