But when he goes back to his memories he only remembers words not voices, almost like he's giving a general idea of what they said Orr what they could have said if presented with the fact they can't remember eachother. It's quite brilliant.

The video skips from the beginning of Neverland to Hollow Bastion, and in the process, it skips over the cutscenes between Axel and Namine, Sora's second encounter with Repliku, the scene where we first see Marluxia without his hood and he challenges Vexen to fight Sora, and also the moment when Sora "recalls" his promise to Namine. Those are quite a lot of egregious omissions, and pretty damn important to the plot. So, if there are ppl using this video to experience Re:CoM for the first time, be warned that there's a pretty big chunk of the story missing. :// Also, to those saying that skipping over the dialogue scenes in Neverland doesn't matter, I'd strongly disagree. If you're paying attention, you'd notice that all of the Disney Memory Worlds are full of symbolic meaning and interaction between Sora and Namine, and you're missing half of their relationship by ignoring them or only taking them at face value. All of the plots to the Disney Memory Worlds are an allegory for Sora and Namine's experiences in Castle Oblivion, and really, this gives these Disney worlds more significance than the worlds have ever had in the entire series. So, yes, they absolutely do matter, and the Neverland allegory was absolutely one of the most important of the whole bunch.

This series was my intro to gaming as a child and I was about 6 when it came out. Played the first religiously when it came out, then played 2 when it came out because I wasn't aware of the other games on other consoles, and definitely felt like I had unanswered questions. When I did get Chain of Memories, the gameplay was so weird to me, I gave up on it. I had NO idea I had missed so much in this game in particular. I've played a lot of the other KH "side" games if you will, and really thought I wasn't missing anything by not going back to it when I got my PS4 more recently and started replaying the series. I am thrilled this "movie" exists, and how you did it! Including all of the cutscenes, the non-dialogue scenes, the end of the fights AND (like other commenters said) walking up to Goofy and Donald before the new areas just to make sure no stone was left unturned is amazing. Thank you!
Thanks for posting this. I love Kingdom Hearts, but I absolutely hate the gameplay of this game. I tried to play it, I just couldn't get past my hatred for this stupid gameplay. Whoever thought of it needs a spanking.
The card system was designed to fit the limitations of the Gameboy Advance, and it did a pretty good job. The GBA version is actually a lot better than the remake, much more difficult and stimulating. The problem is that they dumbed it down.
They should have just done a remake of the 358/2 and made this one a movie on KH 1.5. Gameplay is the worst. I did play the GBA version using an emulator a long time ago and used cheats to breeze through it so I have the gist of it. I just want the HD experience. Thanks for uploading this!
100% agree with you, days would have been so nice to actually PLAY through unlike this card bullshit. who actually enjoyed playing through this game? smh
I liked it...but in fairness COM was the first of the series i played for the GBA. You have to really grind so you can move through the game. I got my hp high enough so i dont fie after a few hits and then focused on CP. My deck was mainly atk based so it felt like regular battle gameplay. hence higher CP
Is no one else going to talk about how Donald just assumed that Marluxia was a heartless at 7:05 even though the only human-like heartless they’ve ever seen was Ansem?
There are a lot of missing scene, like fight with Hook, or main bad guy revealing his face and pink hair for the first time or Donald/Goofy realizing they don't remember Kairi, etc.
21:30 this whole thing makes me understand that leon said they remembered him in kh2 because it seems soras chains took leons memories with his own. So when sora says “give me strength” he actually steals it from his friends
I stomached the gameplay up until Vexen. By then I finished all the worlds and was so over the gameplay. I actually thought I was almost done but there was a whole other hour of cutscenes left! So glad for this video, I would’ve been stuck on this game for another 6 months.
Why? Why do you consistently take twenty seconds or more moving past small, short text boxes, yet with the long ones you rarely spare even three seconds?
Played this game after watching this whole video and it’s a blast. Definitely gotta invest sometime into understanding the system but once you get it down, this game is a blast just like the others, especially once you’re at level 35 it’s more fun than KH1 in some areas in my opinion with all the crazy fights.
I just got into the kingdom hearts franchise and just finished 1.5 . I tried for days and I can't win the gameplay in Chain of Memories...thank you so much for the vids.
Really thanks a lot, I just finished playing kh1 today.. went to this one and I hated the gameplay so bad, I gave up on it, then I found this, and YAY I can play the next one now with no problems xD
I tried to slog through it, I got to the 10th floor and hated it so much that I just literally said fuck it and moved onto 358/2 days. (Yes I'm playing the games chronologically)
Thank goodness for this. I thought this was going to be a turn-based card game, but when I started it, finding out how the combat worked was a deal-breaker.
Amazing playthrough, deserve every likes and views. Save me time and effort for playing this weird card . If I want to play cards I could of just played blackjack but I had to watch to catch up on the story . They really just throw you in KH2 with no back story. This clears up a lot of confused .

The only game I couldnt get into in my 1.5 + 2.5 PS4 game. They should have maybe made a Movie version similar to 358/2 days, even though I guess I would have liked 358/2 days as a game on the DS. As long as there is no dumb card move system! Anyway, thanks a lot for this video! Just perfect. I also like that its not only cutscenes, also some side dialogues and stuff.
Thanks for saving me the trouble of playing the game. It's the only one in the series I can't stomach and I never even watched the cutscenes until now. Although from what I see here the end-game amounts to "Create Fatal Frame and Sonic Blade. Win."
Thanks so much for making this. I love the story and to an extent can even tolerate the card system (boss fights are fun) but the repetitive room design, regular heartless encounters and tedious grinding killed this game for me.
I beat CoM on the GBA years ago, needed a refresher on what went down, and figured Beginner Mode for this thing should be a cakewalk if I could beat the GBA version. I was wrong. “All for one and one for all!”
*makes me think of 3 Musketeers*
*which then makes me think of DISNEY’s 3 Musketeers*
Mickey’s been replaced...
every Keyblade Master could potentially be somewhat "meme" of Mickey. One Mickey is strongly not enough for Aaaaaaall the World's, or even Universe places
this movie is more enjoyable to watch then the actual game itself
More relaxing you mean after I beat it I didn’t feel like playing it again
53:02 was probably hands down my favorite quote in this game
I like how at 3:35:30 sora talking and the fake Riku body is just there lifeless 😂
3:21:36 "No, Sora! You can't believe me"
*Okay, I believe you*
This series was my intro to gaming as a child and I was about 6 when it came out. Thank you!
The biggest laugh from all this is everyone calling Sora a “Keyblade Master.”
I rage quite on this game and now I’m here to watch all the cutscenes
Dude thank you so much for this; you're a saint.
The game gets way easier if you get the hang of the gameplay and have a good strategy.
Thanks for posting this. I love Kingdom Hearts, but I absolutely hate the gameplay of this game. I tried to play it, I just couldn't get past my hatred for this stupid gameplay. Whoever thought of it needs a spanking.
your not the only one who hates it
The card system was designed to fit the limitations of the Gameboy Advance, and it did a pretty good job. The GBA version is actually a lot better than the remake, much more difficult and stimulating. The problem is that they dumbed it down.
Exactly why i'm here, too.
Same here :/
Igor Soares Game Boy Advanced? I thought it came out on PSP first.
I played 358/2 and it was fun. A little bit repetitive imo but infinitely better than playing chain of memories. I hate those damn cards
I seriously respect how long this would have taken you to put together... Thank you so much!
Am I the only one who can't hear any audio from this video? I'm hearing the ads and other TH-cam videos but not this one :/
Same here, I don't know what is the problem..
For those who are still wondering, only the beginning cinematic is muted
Is no one else going to talk about how Donald just assumed that Marluxia was a heartless at 7:05 even though the only human-like heartless they’ve ever seen was Ansem?
I don’t have any friends and my family lives across the country. Kingdom Hearts really helps with my loneliness 💙
You are a time-saving soul for this, couldn’t have been me
I stomached the gameplay up until Vexen. By then I finished all the worlds and was so over the gameplay. I actually thought I was almost done but there was a whole other hour of cutscenes left! So glad for this video, I would’ve been stuck on this game for another 6 months.
Rewatching these before KH3, it made me wonder why Sora's memories with Namine can't be reconstructed after returning his old memories.
Why? Why do you consistently take twenty seconds or more moving past small, short text boxes, yet with the long ones you rarely spare even three seconds?
Bro he probably was just taking a drink or something chill
After Sora wins the Ultimate
Kairi: Sora, congratulations!
Sora: Thank you.
i wish sora was young again
It took me literal years to complete this game because I kept giving up for months and weeks at a time
Played this game after watching this whole video and it’s a blast.
Well done sir, way better than just a mash up of every cut scene :)
I finally beat this game! But it took me so long, I forgot how it began...
I gave up on playing it halfway and now I am watching this.
Really thanks a lot, I just finished playing kh1 today.. went to this one and I hated the gameplay so bad, I gave up on it, then I found this, and YAY I can play the next one now with no problems xD
Lolo chan dame thing happened to me today literally finished it this morning and started watching this two hours into chain of memories
Couldn't get used to the card system, no matter how many hours I spent with it. So, thanks for the upload this is weet af.
Admit it, you're only watching this because you didn't want to play the game.
F the combat system. Seriously.
When you see images of accurate bible description of angels. Last marluxia boss fight represents one lol
That kooky smile when sora beats Vexen killed me!
Got to the 10th floor of this game and noped out at the Vexen fight 😅 thanks for the upload
Genie's dead eyes fill me with eldritch dread.
Thank you for posting this. Game play litteraly killed me.
I tried to slog through it, I got to the 10th floor and hated it so much that I just literally said fuck it and moved onto 358/2 days. (Yes I'm playing the games chronologically)
Steven Ferrell wish they re made it to the ps4.
Tommy Nguyen They did wtf. They iiterally remastered every game on the collection on PS4 bro, I'm playing it now.
Tommy Nguyen Supports 4k and 60 fps as well.
I couldn't get past the tutorial. 😂
358/2 days is sooo much worse than this in gameplay.
3:04:25 this isn’t The Office, Axel stop looking at the camera
Meanwhile ventus just chilling while all of this happen
gotta love simple and clean
Thank goodness for this. I thought this was going to be a turn-based card game, but when I started it, finding out how the combat worked was a deal-breaker.
Amazing playthrough, deserve every likes and views. Save me time and effort for playing this weird card . If I want to play cards I could of just played blackjack but I had to watch to catch up on the story . They really just throw you in KH2 with no back story. This clears up a lot of confused .
A 1:25:10 it plays the last cutscene again.
I was confounded, I remembered already seeing this cutscene seconds ago.
In case your memories where taken away
Got the collection, loved the first KH beat it on proud my first ever playthru, went to COM and boy that combat system is buns imo, just watching this so i can get to 2 lol
thats exactly what im doing
(Sora, Donald and Goofy head back to their own world and Sterleztia waves goodbye to them)
Sora: Bye! Thank you so much for taking care of me, Retzi.
Sterleztia: Be careful.
Sora: I will.
Sterleztia: Don’t use too much power of waking again.
Sora: I won’t.
(Sora reunited with Kairi again)
Kairi: Sora, I missed you so much.
Sora: I missed you too, Kairi.
KH COM arguably has the best narrative in all KH games
Thanks for saving me the trouble of playing the game. It's the only one in the series I can't stomach and I never even watched the cutscenes until now. Although from what I see here the end-game amounts to "Create Fatal Frame and Sonic Blade. Win."
Sora sweetie, you’re going back home and I know you will.
Who else thinks that Larxene is a total babe? Just me? Guess I'm weird.
Dominique Jackson you're not alone
Were behind You!
Nah man, her style is what hooked me.
...its a video game.
Pathetic weeb
TrackForField what a retarded comment
Thank you for doing this
Thanks so much for making this.
I hit a wall with the last Axel fight and don't have the patience for a game that's not really all that fun tbh, so thank you for this.
This person played this game for our sins. Thank you.
