You do know the 2008 English dub for this came out during Haley Osment’s 2nd puberty. The original GBA version just used archived voice clips from KH1. 😂
Really wish they'd release a version of this with the regular combat mechanics. I got to Wonderland and had trouble because the cards I had weren't high enough, half of them were useless. And now I can finally find out what happened between the first and second games.
Honestly the best thing to do is keep stacking cards. Yeah you'll lose the first card, but you'll actually get somewhere in fights. I stopped playing because it was just boring, but once I started stacking cards, I started getting through the parts I was stuck on

@XioXioli well the reason ì like it is because of its differences. Of course every other kingdom hearts game is better, but something so satisfying about going from struggling with the cards to being pretty good makes me feel accomplished
Technically, you should be playing 358/2 Days Which takes place while Sora is sealed away. You'll learn a ton about Org 13, Roxas, Kairi, and other... super important characters. KH2 will make a ton more sense. At least watch the cutscenes. Though I wouldn't blame you for moving straight to KH2. It's the best game of the series. And the 2.5 edition makes it even better.
@@Mister_Clean yes as Rorschach said you’re doing yourself a big disservice playing 358/2 before kh2. Even though it is set between rechain and 2 it spoils a lot of kh2. Plus playing days before your introduced to Roxas in 2 just doesn’t feel natural at all and can be jarring as hell. A lot easier to have Roxas introduced in 2 have that story play out with him still being abit of a mystery then finishing up with his backstory and origin in 358
life saver was actually enjoying the game until I realized (Riku boss fight 44:30) that it was impossible to proceed without grinding RNG cards and spamming the same combo for 20 hours straight kinda unfun
Thank you for this compilation. I am playing through the Kingdom Hearts series for the first to see what all the hype was about. I beat the first game and I was actually interested in trying Re:Chain of Memories when I heard it had a card battling system - because I normally like card/deck building games. But this game made all the wrong choices when developing this combat system. I don't know whose idea it was to have card-based battling while dodging/moving in real-time in a 3D space - especially with the card break countering system. It's like trying to play a Dark Souls game but every time you want to attack you have to open up your inventory and select an attack item in order to try to swing your weapon - a while trying to dodge/parry boss attacks. I gave this game a solid 4ish hours and I was done. It simply was not fun. Thanks again for this compilation video.

I almost broke my controller playing the vexed boss fight and accidentally chose main menu instead of the retry option and lost hours of progress and I just decided to quit cause I can’t with these fuckass card mechanics

Yeup. Picked up the full set of the game when it was released on Steam recently for nostalgia sake. I decided to play through the saga since there were some stories I missed out on. Beat KH1 and loved it. Then went into CoM and... What the heck is that? I gave it an hour and a half and I just can't with the clunky card system. So thank you for uploading this. Saved my sanity. lol
Honestly, got as far as the Marluxia boss fight with Sora... then my hard drive with my game data died. After completing KH with getting the Ultima weapon and the sheer bs Chain of Memories pulls out with the card system... yeah, I'm not doing that again. Thanks for this, now I know what happens with the story

This is just one of those games that really suffers due to their mechanics. They story isn’t even that bad it’s a good tilting point between 1 and 2 but the god damn card system just makes it painful to play. I will say I am very excited to playthrough all the games in order especially the Ventus era seeing that I never beat them when I was younger and no little to nothing about the story. Played 1, re:chain, 2, and 358/2 all but re:chain multiple times but the series just fell off for me after that. So in prep for KH4 I’m slowly making my way through the entire series now onto my personal favorite KH2. God I can’t wait to get to the timeless river world again that shit is so damn nostalgic 😂

Nah you just have to be super fast at cancelling sleights with 0s and using boss cards right or heartless cards and you can just breeze through the game easily both versions lol and for weaker entries compared to kh1 and 2 they are solid better gameplay wise then days at least 😂

Amazing! The game itself runs great on my laptop, but for some reason the cutscenes always de sync. So every time there’s a cutscene, I just watch this! I am at the 13th floor rn and almost done! I really enjoyed the gameplay so far besides the fact that you have to back track in order to progress (grinding map cards sucks)

Having attempted to play this game for the first time since the GBA (i only got to Monstro), I could not get past Traverse Town. The card system room-wise is NOT fun. Thank you for this because at least now my KH series playthrough is not gonna have glaring holes.

Im playing through the other games (just bought 1.5 + 2.5 recently). Got through 1 and birth by sleep, started this, and saw Axel say the same thing as Lea and really wanted to get the lore, but even playing on "beginner" I was struggling to keep track of everything and struggled to win any of the boas fights. Thank you for this.
If you ever want to finish it, the trick is simply to get better sleights and build your deck to be back to back sleights. By hour 3, if you plan it out and basically dedicate every level to card points and sleights then you just mash Y every battle to win. I beat the game doing one sleight 30 times in a row, I made my Y a turbo button and held it. Took 14 hours, but I beat it.

I think I put 60 hr more or less getting Sora to level 99 and beating Marluxia. For Riku’s story I think it was under the 30hr, the level grind was brutal so I quit after level 69. He was already op as shit before level 69.
@@missbonedaddy thanks, a lot of people don’t really like rechain. The slights get pretty crazy after a while so I found myself enjoying it more and more. I’m also crazy into the story so I want to try and play/beat the other games. Rn I beat 1, rechain, and 3. I’m currently working on 2 and 358 days.
Really, thank you so much! I never cared for the card battling system, and always gave up. I read the cliffnotes so I knew what happened between 1 and 2, but the details were fuzzy. Knowing Sora is getting gaslit through the whole game and falling into a trap also made me feel unrewarded with story progression, like I had a hand in his downfall or something. I still don't really get Axel, though. He can be so needlessly cryptic, lol. And Repliku deserved better. Couldn't he have given himself a couple weeks to find himself before deciding it was individuality or death? I haven't played KH3 yet, building up to it now that I have some free time, but I'm guessing, unlike MANY others, he actually stays dead. He was just a baby. 😢
its annoying that these spinoff games of dubious quality are critical to the plot of the series. this is the best way i could come up with to not be completely lost while playing 2 and bbs (the games i ACTUALLY wanted to play)

they just dropped this franchise on steam so i was playing this series for the first time. Then... i got to this game. I'm on floor 10 and then i click this video and Im only 1 hour of cutscenes in. the timing of the bosses is more annoying than elden ring (im on easiest difficulty), and the cards... the damn cards... yeah i dont need to punish myself last time i checked games were fun. Thank you sir im just gonna lay back and watch this video and move on to kh 2.
i couldn’t stand the combat system for one second. the lock in wouldn’t work sometimes and when i did lock on to a heartless and then got close to another one the card i’m battling would switch to the one i’m close to not the one i’m locked on to and i would just be wasting cards

Played 1, re:chain, 2, and 358/2 all but re:chain multiple times but the series just fell off for me after that.
So in prep for KH4 I’m slowly making my way through the entire series now onto my personal favorite KH2.
God I can’t wait to get to the timeless river world again that shit is so damn nostalgic 😂

@@nightmareman9960 Haha, I enjoyed the game but I will say that getting the Ultima Weapon was not a joy especially with 3 characters. Not to mention Royal Radiance I believe it's called. Also about KH2, Timeless River is actually one of my least favorite/favourite worlds 😂

Honestly timeless river is just the most nostalgic world from kh2 for me right up there with tron. It’s been nearly 15 years since I’ve played the game so it could be really fkin back but still excited to see it again 😂

Nah you just have to be super fast at cancelling sleights with 0s and using boss cards right or heartless cards and you can just breeze through the game easily both versions lol and for weaker entries compared to kh1 and 2 they are solid better gameplay wise then days at least 😂

Amazing! The game itself runs great on my laptop, but for some reason the cutscenes always de sync. So every time there’s a cutscene, I just watch this! I am at the 13th floor rn and almost done! I really enjoyed the gameplay so far besides the fact that you have to back track in order to progress (grinding map cards sucks)

Having attempted to play this game for the first time since the GBA (i only got to Monstro), I could not get past Traverse Town. The card system room-wise is NOT fun. Thank you for this because at least now my KH series playthrough is not gonna have glaring holes.

Im playing through the other games (just bought 1.5 + 2.5 recently). Got through 1 and birth by sleep, started this, and saw Axel say the same thing as Lea and really wanted to get the lore, but even playing on "beginner" I was struggling to keep track of everything and struggled to win any of the boas fights.

If you ever want to finish it, the trick is simply to get better sleights and build your deck to be back to back sleights. By hour 3, if you plan it out and basically dedicate every level to card points and sleights then you just mash Y every battle to win. I beat the game doing one sleight 30 times in a row, I made my Y a turbo button and held it. Took 14 hours, but I beat it.

I think I put 60 hr more or less getting Sora to level 99 and beating Marluxia. For Riku’s story I think it was under the 30hr, the level grind was brutal so I quit after level 69. He was already op as shit before level 69.

I’m also crazy into the story so I want to try and play/beat the other games. Rn I beat 1, rechain, and 3. I’m currently working on 2 and 358 days.

Really, thank you so much! I never cared for the card battling system, and always gave up. I read the cliffnotes so I knew what happened between 1 and 2, but the details were fuzzy. Knowing Sora is getting gaslit through the whole game and falling into a trap also made me feel unrewarded with story progression, like I had a hand in his downfall or something.
I still don't really get Axel, though. He can be so needlessly cryptic, lol. And Repliku deserved better. Couldn't he have given himself a couple weeks to find himself before deciding it was individuality or death? I haven't played KH3 yet, building up to it now that I have some free time, but I'm guessing, unlike MANY others, he actually stays dead. He was just a baby. 😢
its annoying that these spinoff games of dubious quality are critical to the plot of the series. this is the best way i could come up with to not be completely lost while playing 2 and bbs (the games i ACTUALLY wanted to play)

they just dropped this franchise on steam so i was playing this series for the first time. Then... i got to this game. I'm on floor 10 and then i click this video and Im only 1 hour of cutscenes in.
the timing of the bosses is more annoying than elden ring (im on easiest difficulty), and the cards... the damn cards... yeah i dont need to punish myself last time i checked games were fun. Thank you sir im just gonna lay back and watch this video and move on to kh 2.

Always convenient how the organization never thinks to team up to face Sora. Only way Sora can win is if he is allowed to pick them off one at a time.

i couldn’t stand the combat system for one second. the lock in wouldn’t work sometimes and when i did lock on to a heartless and then got close to another one the card i’m battling would switch to the one i’m close to not the one i’m locked on to and i would just be wasting cards
Alll of those comments complaining about the Cards System when I am here admiring Sora’s adult personality and kinda wished it went along to KHII and III rather than being too silly like a clown

I have been honestly trying to play this game. I can see the fun in the card game aspect, However, I am just not having it. the guide online seems to be you ether break the card system with Sleights or just dont have fun. I am just going to watch this and move on.
