I'm getting this code but brake lights seem to work OK. I wonder if there may be problem with adjustment of it? I.e. switch engages a little later than ABS computer sees "pressure"/change in brake master cylinder?
My 2013 camry recently acted up. ABS, Trac, and brake lights were all on. I checked dtc, and my diag led me to this switch. I took it off the car, opened to see. The switch has overheated, internal plastic is burned and deformed. There was oil stains in it as well. The oil seems to come from the electric power steering unit above. Looks like assembly oil. Interestingly, none of the dealers have this part in stock.
my car had a 'brake light went out' and then both brake lights went out. It's too coincidental that both bulbs will be out at once. Corolla with nearly 300k miles may be ready for a new switch that is easy to fix. I can get a mechanic if needed, but new bulbs and switch may fix the problem ...
Sometimes there is nothing wrong with the switch, sometimes the green spacer fails. Look for this on your floor before replacing switch. I replaced mine with a modified tap washer. 8 yrs ago, still working.
@@charlieg7774 Recently I diagnosed that the spiral coil was not functioning properly. That's the reason for my cruise control to not work. Also the horn stopped working. Thatsy

Replaced and didn't fix it. Should I unplug the battery?
Maybe speed sensor?

This has to be why I'm having this issue. I just got new brakes less than 10,000 miles ago lol. I was flabbergasted when these lights came on.

If the green spacer is missing the brake light would be on all the time.
