- How to paint a light filled landscape in acrylics? This full demonstration shows a step-by-step method to start and complete your acrylic painting. I am using Amsterdam acrylics and Daler Rowney brushes for acrylics. I am also using a loose painterly approach to get an impression of the scene.
You can find out more about acrylic painting in my course: Acrylic Painting for Beginners: www.malcolmdeweyfineart.com/a... - แนวปฏิบัติและการใช้ชีวิต
I love how you demonstrate it's possible to bring life to a fairly standard reference photo, and I especially love the part where you mention not to stick too closely to it and to interpret it in your own way. While I'm impressed with super-realistic drawings, I don't really understand the point in recreating a photo when the photo already exists. Love your work!
Thank you, I agree
Man, you are a talented painter and surely a talented teacher too. I am learning a lot from you. Thanks!
Thank you very much!
I've just watched three of your videos and I'm sure I'll be watching a lot more. I love this loose style of painting where just colour and value can suggest detail that isn't actually painted.
Thank you very much!
Wonderful! So glad you did a demo with acrylics!
Thank you👍
I'm binging too. Love your videos. Every one has been so helpful! 😄

Hi Malcolm Very nice demonstration as usual and I would like to ask you do you prefer oil or acrylic when you paint
Thanks Haidar - oils are still my preferred medium. A lot more scope with them I think.
great painting demonstration. by the way is that a cryla brush. I love those brushes :)
Thank you. Yes Cryla are excellent for acrylics.
I noticed in step 1 and 2 you left the edges "wispy". Did you do this so you would not have any hard edges to contend with?
I tend to start this way from big shapes and vague edges and move to smaller shapes a harder edges towards the focal area. Not to commit too soon because every painting has its natural development.
Is this impressionism style?
A variation. Correctly called Painterly style.
