Bill, I for one (I'm sure there are many others) really do appreciate your videos, Like the saying go's, a picture is worth a thousand words.......Chris Lynn
Buddy has this one on his 66’ , sounds good in and out of vehicle. Definitely can hear him coming when he’s on it but not so loud the neighbors will complain
+David Martin When he said that the exhaust system wasn't up to par he wasn't talking about how it would sound. The new engine flows more exhaust gas volume and the whole system needed to be larger. Maybe they went with Magnaflow simply for a different sound. Sure are a lot of Mustangs out there with Flowmasters. Dare to be different.
Hello Bill, I have noticed on the video that you have removed the center reinforcement plate subframe that we have on 67 convertible mustang. Is it ok for a safe driving ? I plan to install Global west subframes to improve rigidity..Is it enough and is it the reason why you have removed the center reinforcement plate ? Thank you very much for your answer. :-)
The system installed is the Magnaflow 2.5 in system. It is available in both 2.5 inch and 3 inch version and installs the same way. I will get a correction added here. Thanks
Noticed you didn't put the center brace back in. That's because the 2.5" system is too large to fit above the center brace. The center brace gives convertibles a little extra support since it doesn't have a solid roof. I had the same system and issue so I didn't install the x-pipe section and had straight pipes created.
+Quang B Most of the support comes from the one piece seat platform, a bolt on brace will provide a little extra support but it won't hurt to remove it either. This car has additional subframe connectors too.
What nonsense. The car came with the plate from Fords so that between the plate, the tunnel and the reinforced seat pans a box section is formed. Without the plate it becomes a C section and significantly weaker than a box section.
hello bill i just purchase this system for my 1968 mustang GT/CS with a J code 302 with stock exhaust manifolds....my question is will this system hook up to my stock exhaust manifold?
The headpipes off the X pipe will reach the factory manifold location but you would have to fabricate a flange to connect the bare Magnaflow pipe to the flange on your factory manifold.
Not bad, nice and pretty install. Glad my Magnaflows sound a lot better then these, probably a different model. Mine is on a 460 big block in a 67 Mustang.
Great video but that ghastly music made me want to stop watching throughout! Why does America insist on using ear-shredding guitar music with any video production?? It's just not necessary and it 100% detrimental to your great videos!!
4:40 for the sound.
Wow good thing I heard it before I bought it! Flowmasters all day on a Windsor

Such a clean sound
something about that 289 and magnaflow's the way they sound is amazing
and I've had flowmasters on my old mustang
would you say this exhaust is quiet, moderate or loud.
Cobrafanatik22 sorry I’m so late but to me it’s moderate
Buddy has this one on his 66’ , sounds good in and out of vehicle. Definitely can hear him coming when he’s on it but not so loud the neighbors will complain
We have installed several of these and you won't have any clearance problems unless the car is lowered. The header is still the lowest point.
Jose Francisco Medeiros
Clearance isn't the issue, the missing reinforcement plate is the problem.
What are the mufflers part number ?
Sounds nice and clean
Bill - What is the part number on the mufflers included with this set? Are they the MagnaFlow 14832 muffler?
They are the 2.5 in street series oval mufflers, not sure of the exact part #
Sounds nice
I’d like to buy headers and exhaust for my 1970 428 SCJ Mustang drag pack, manual. Do you have any recommendations please ?
do you have anymore sound clips of this exhaust?
wonder what the ground clearance is, probably have problems with scraping.
I can't believe he said the exhaust wasn't up to par. I bet that Flowmaster cat back would've sounded way better.
X-Pipe > any other set up
They took out the flowmasters, nothing sounds better on pushrod engines than flowmasters

3 inch Flowmaster system
David Martin They went with 2.5 inch exhaust because it's a street car, not a drag car. 3 inch for high rpm, 2.5 inch for street torque at lower revs.

Jar VIS Came to comments to question the same thing. No reinforcement plate is a no no. These cars flex with the plate just putting them on a lift.
Bill, you said it was a 2" 1/2" stainless steel exhaust in the video, the video heading said 3"; which is it, Thanks, Chris Lynn

Hey Bill, I have a 1967 Mustang GTA and would like to keep my original tips, what diameter would you recommend?

What is the benefit of having an X-pipe ? In the exhaust system ?
Won't the X-pipe give exhaust "Drone" at 1400 to 1700 RPM ?
I have a 68 Fastback 289 with single exhaust. I would like to convert it to dual exhaust. Is there anything that will get in the way?
Not being able to see the bottom of the car
Bill, will this system fit a 1970 Boss 302 with staggered shocks?
Cathy Sagle sorry no it will not fit staggered shocks.
Any suggestions?
@@cathysagle7782 Besides a stock style replacement I think the only real option would be a custom system done by a reputable exhaust shop.

Carborated or fuel injected

Damnnnn😍
Too bad not H pipes

i dont have and never will have this car, so why am i watching this?
Ditch the music.
Black widow sounds better
Way to muffled
