I like the stealth and climbing of unity over black flag, but the ship combat in ac black flag saves the overall combat for me. In addition, black flags story got me more engaged than unity’s. I can’t really decide
Strong disagree. Takes everyone ive seen play it 5 attempts to enter any given window. And smokebombs≠stealth. Arno will ALWAYS get caught if you dont use smokebombs at some point in the mission; if you cant be bold or feel quick without a hazy screen, thats trash.
I honestly love both for its different reasons. Black Flag I love for its protagonist, story, setting, and it variety of activities and Unity for its parkour, stealth, and setting

Pretty good video as always, I recommend you for future videos on making a section about main missions design and variety. In Unity vs Black Flag case, I dont mine that much the tailing missions but I admit the game really abuse of them, Unity in my opinion have more variety of main missions even when not of all of them are stellar in design.
I replayed both a few months back and loved UNITY more than BLACK FLAG, the parkour, gameplay and maybe the story a little bit did it for me. Unity on top

I remember my friend had Black Flag and I used to watch him play it all the time. I wanted that game so bad and I never chose to play every time he offered bc I wanted to experience on my own . Then when I finally got it I stay up in the summer all day playing that game . I love it also
Sure the combat in Assassin's Creed Black Flag was too easy, but holy moly does it make you feel like a total badass because of the absurd amount of fast paced takedown animations.
So I’ve played both and both are special in their own way, one is a pirates life at sea with a huge open world with countless islands to explore. While Unity allows you to to enter every single building yes almost every building, being an interior designer i really enjoyed how well designed and how accurate the representation of the the era is. (Just my opinion)
Black Flag was my first AC game and I played it with my father so it holds a very special place in my heart. i played BF then Ezio Trilogy, 3, Unity, Syndicate, and the RPG's. Black Flag still stands as my favorite, closely followed by 2
Balck flag is just so much fun.. it's one of the few games I play every year.. even if just to do the story quick... yet most of the time I just spend time being a pirate
I would say other wise because unity has better parkour and graphics it really blew me off when this game released in 2015 but it's a personal opinion and I just don't hang with the graphics of black flag.
I'm a hardcore fan of both unity & black flag. But if i had to pick only one I'd choose unity any day cuz the parkour & stealth is more satisfying. Also cuz the graphics are great & i love unity's paris!
Black Flag without question for me. That’s the game that I gave AC one more chance with after not being able to get into the series. This game helped me fall in love with the rest of them (except Odyssey and Valhalla).
Thanks for making this. I've had both games on my Xbox for like 6 years (I think it came with the console or something). Just now choosing which to play first. I think ill go with Unity first as 18th century France sounds cool and I I'd rather have the cleaner animations + urban combat in Paris sounds fun.
The story of Unity was not my cup of tea, so I liked AC4 more by the story. Talking about parkour and stealth, AC4 is really nice but is nothing in front of Unity. Also the naval combat is a huge point for me when comparing these games. oof too hard to choose one!
When it comes to the side activity it’s quite difficult to judge which is better. Black Flag’s open seas and seaside communities are fantastic for explore even if it can feel empty at times on the ocean where you’re either in combat or going from point A to point B, and the Kenway’s Fleet minigame is a genuinely interesting one that encourages you to bring different kinds of ships into the fleet from overworld attacking. The trade aspect is built off of send off missions in the previous games and Kenway’s Fleet is a nice evolution. In Unity’s favour there’s the side missions that don’t hand hold, and make you the player do some thinking instead of go to marked point on map, complete indicated task, one less icon on the overworld. It’s like III where it shows you a side of the protagonist the main story doesn’t highlight, and a side to them that should be seen. Unity also has the best character customisation where you can swap in individual components of Arno’s ensemble rather relying on specific preset outfits.
When I was younger I didn’t really like ac black flag a lot, but back then I also didn’t really like pirates. Since I recently replayed black flag I now really like the story. But the co-op and setting of ac unity is so fun. Co-op if it was polished it would be amazing. I also really like the mayan assassin’s in black flag. Now that I’ve played black flag, freedom cry and rogue i’m kind of burnt out of the naval combat. So for me ac unity wins by not a huge amount. Unity would crush if there was more effort put in to the story and polished all of it. IMO respect every ones opinion. Keep up the good work my mentor Assassin.
I used to disregard AC4 because of its emphasis on naval exploration and combat, but finally played it during the pandemic and enjoyed it. It's not my favorite AC game, but I'm glad I can finally say it's a good game instead of downright ignoring it. Unity is my preference as I thought Paris was a joy to run around in. I remember that game clicking for me and couldn't believe people hated it. I even thought the present stuff was interesting running around WW2 and doing those rifts where it felt like an escape room type challenge. It's disappointing that the game got a bad rap where Ubisoft changed course, but I grew to appreciate the new games too. I guess I'm not a hard person to please. I kind of enjoy all the games really and just like some more than others.
I think Unity suffered from the hype leading up to the release, the expectations were set so high from all the trailers and gameplay demos. The game felt like it was missing that unique touch, which was exemplified by the start menu. When you’ve just loaded up an ac game that menu should set the tone for what’s to come, revelations, black flag and Valhalla are probably my favourite ones. While most people thought black flag would be the worst game in the series at that point in time (kinda strange looking back it had similar expectations to odyssey lol) but after people played it, it surprised them how good gameplay and narrative wise it was. For me Black Flag is top 3 and Unity is probably mid tier out of the AC series, but that is my opinion.
It’s really inconsistent as well. Why can he jump this 20 foot gap but not this 15 feet one? Why can he jump up to this ledge but can’t jump up to this shorter one? Why does he auto swing on this rope but lands on this one instead?
Thing is I love the parkour more in Unity but it just lacks locations. Feels like everywhere most the buildings are the same. Each island in Black flag was unique. But the main problem i have with Unity is that for me personally it killed it from being an actual pretty good game because it didn't have the notoriety system like the previous ones had. It feels like on Unity you have to run 3 blocks just to fight like 3 guards which sucks
Unity has the best gameplay out of all AC games in the entire series. The graphics, parkour, customization options. A lot of people didn't like the story and i just never understood why. Overall, it is very ahead of its time and is just more enjoyable to play (for me).
I'm sitting at 93% competition on black flag All that's left is finishing Kenways fleet, completing all the optional objects in the story, and last but not least buying the rest of the weapons
I prefer Unity honestly. I like the setting and gameplay better. I love that you are an actual assassin in the game and I actually love Arno as a protagonist. It's my favorite Assassin's Creed game to this day.
It was such a cool deal getting to download both these games for free when buying the Xbox One. That's how I was introduced to the assassins creed series and since then I've played all 12 main games and their dlcs along with Liberations (still finishing Valhalla's Siege of Paris dlc).

I know its an unpopular opinion but Valhalla is my favorite followed by Origins and Black Flag. I went in to Valhalla with no hype or expectations and just had a blast when I played it. Black Flag is amazing though. It's pretty much the perfect Pirate game. Unity was a ton of fun too. It's not one of my top games but I still love it. It still looks amazing these days and Paris was beautiful. It really felt like a next gen title when it came out to me.
Both Assassin's Creed Unity and Assassin's Creed Black Flag are fantastic games, but in my opinion, it ultimately comes down to personal preference. Unity offers a beautifully recreated Paris during the French Revolution, with a more focused story and refined parkour mechanics. Meanwhile, Black Flag takes players to the Caribbean during the Golden Age of Piracy, offering a massive open world to explore and some of the best naval combat in the series. Personally, I lean more towards Black Flag for its vast and immersive world, memorable characters, and incredible soundtrack. However, Unity's attention to detail in its setting and improved gameplay mechanics can't be overlooked. Ultimately, both games have their strengths and weaknesses, and it's up to each individual player to decide which one they prefer.
for the records of my ideal of view, there are some points that good and bad for these both games: good: story: 1. edward story is not about his greed for riches, in truth he just want to make money to which point that can have support his life, wife and daughter. thing is not just want he has, he want the best thing in life that make him not to look poor or get him sick, if i remember correctly edward childhood was pretty tragic, not just poor but also loose people he loved for ( may be his parents or brothers or sisters, i dont know, if i'm wrong then sorry ) 2. may be arnold story is about just for revenged and love elise but thing of this way, he lost both father and adopt father which lead him only has elise, who is both childhood lover and sister. they both grew up and have wonderful time after his father murdered infront of his eyes. so yeah when his adopt father died, he considered him not just like his father but also his guidance to his adulthood. in other words, they are his second family. of course he can be arrogant and his purpose when he joined the assassin just for revenge, but if you were him and put in that situation, will you want to revenge and bring justice for the one you loved? more than that, when he lose elise too, he realised that he didnt have any one he cared and loved for but only the assassin, it will be perfect sense that the creed is he only family left, he decided to grow up and do what he can to protect this family. gameplay and graphics: 1. edward has some major point when compare to arnold: a ship which has a lot of fire power, 2 family on his side ( the crew and the assassins ). nice amount of parkour and great graphic of texture. 2. arnold has a lot of kind of gears, skills, and a home which are both a cafe and personal mansion, realistic npcs, perfect parkour like the real life one and true history of world monuments. bad: 1. edward may be has a great story but it lacks details like the after he joined the British assassin, parkour may look great but its not realistic, too easy gameplay and finally is lack of arsenal not like arnold. 2. arnold story is too short, a lot of annoying and some funny bugs when climb and running parkour, npcs are also bug as hell, and finally is combat a little bit hard, like a bug when fighting belec it has annoy glitch which very hard for pass the memory. that is all of my view, so if you see something wrong, feel free to comment. about my view which game is better then i will say is neither, which both are good and bad of its own, its matter of your perspective so dont judge me.
I think that Black Flag is the overall better game. I have 4 100% playthroughs of it, it was my first real gaming experience and it will always hold a special place in my heart. But I have to say that the polished version of Unity is by far the best AC game out there. The map design, the graphics and gameplay systems. Nothing has been close to catching the Assassin fantasy as well as this game!
Let's be honest, who really remember the story of unity? I think almost no one, I can remember like 2 characters at most, but the story of Black Flag is completely unique (also the ship mechanics) though if you want a modern funny gameplay experience Unity is a good option
I admit that I had high hopes for Unity, but I'm afraid that it didn't ensnared me like the previous games did. It might be because I didn't get to play it properly until years after the release, or maybe I was too stuck in medieval history and the pirate era, to fully embrace France during the revolution. It might even have been the transit to a new modern protagonist, but neither Unity or Syndicate were my cup of tea.
I prefer Black Flag, though, I love the improvements Unity made and wish the story was a bit better with more French Revolution parts. I enjoyed Syndicate though I hated that crouching was reduced to the stealth button and it was tied to the hood so I had stealth on all the time. I also hate the lack of weapon variety and the continuous punching system.
I think it comes down to this. Unity improved on the fundamentals of AC (combat, stealth, movement) while Black Flag added a bunch of content and exploration. People liked Unity cuz it made them feel more like an assassin while Black Flag made them feel like they can do anything and go anywhere

Just finished them both back-to-back and the answer is blackflag. Admittedly i hate sailing in AC games, but as far as story, characters, parkour, responsive combat, and fun activities Black Flag wins. Unity is only cool for customizing genuinely, you can be neither bold nor stealthy without being forced to use smokebombs Unity was BAD.
Same with me, played unity about 3-4 months ago and finished Black Flag last week (played both for the first time). I had to force myself to finish the main story of Unity, it was truly painfully boring and frustrating. Overall probably like a 3/10 game, despite the great visuals it just wasn't fun and it's not like there's much else to do besides the main story. Black Flag is an amazing game, a few flaws though, but still amazing. I'd probably rate it like a 9/10. I would've liked that story to be just a bit longer/less rushed and with about 75% less tailing missions.
I love both games! Both are fun and exciting to play but the repetitive tailing missions in Black Flag can be a bit too much. I love the side content of Black flag because there is so much to do. Unity on the other hand, Paris as an open world is amazing, as well as the side content (never played Dead Kings, trying to work on that). I belive that both games should win just because on how awesome the games were.
As someone who has 200+ hours of gameplay on these two games on steam. I can't possibly decide the winner they both really awesome time killers in their own way

Both are great and unique games and have their respective strong points, but I would say Black Flag wins for me because of naval combat and being more immersive, while I enjoy Unity's settings of French Revolution and improved graphics. Also would love to hear your opinions on Forgotten Temple
Honestly both games are really different so it’s hard to compare and compete them against each other but honestly Unity is really something special, phantom blad, best parkour, all assassins outfits. But black flag is also good with its own way adventuring on every island and treasure hunting and having your own boat.

I find it easier to replay Unity than Black Flag, due to the much better basics like stealth and traversal. Black Flag seems a bit too heavy story wise and content wise to replay

Unity has a special place for me. Even when it was buggy I didn't mind. What I don't get is how they could not recycle this games' animations and physics in Mirage - probably the Valhalla Engine was the obvious choice with limitations.
That is also a tough decision for me. I cannot decide if black flag is number 3 on my list and unity 4, or vice versa. I honestly enjoyed unity a bit more, than black flag as well.
I love Black flag because the combat is easy in land and the ship combat, I like Unity because of parkour and stealth except combat, both I like those stories and the characters are both too, Edward and Arno.

Black Flag I would say is better in terms of story, cast of characters, having addicting ship combat, music, modern day, assassination confessions, and the color palette (Black Flag's color palette is more shiny while Unit's color palette is more muddy). Also whistling is better for luring enemies than cherry bombs and the outfit for completing the Mayan puzzles in Black Flag is better than the outfit for doing the Paris riddles in Unity. Unity is better in terms of hand to hand combat (enemies are challenging while Black Flag's enemies are too easy), stealth, climbing mechanics, side missions, customization, mission structure (black box beats tailing missions), and DLC. Open world wise both games are great. Paris is better city wise and the Caribbean is better setting wise. I do wish Black Flag had less tailing missions, the modern day was in third person and felt important, enemies were more challenging, and there was more side missions like the Templar Hunts. And with Unity I would have preferred the story been about Arno hunting Shay, more of the cast were memorable, and enemies didn't always shoot at me. Otherwise, both games are great and some of the best in the series along with the Ezio trilogy, Origins, and Syndicate.
Unity has better gameplay but it's story is pretty weak. I'd still rather play that though. Going from Odyssey to black flag made me not like the boat combat as much

First, you elide over the fact of Unity being one of the most broken launch's in the history of gaming. As I recall, it needed a day one patch that was bigger than the game itself to render it almost playable. That being said the dev's should get credit for sticking with the game and making an excellent game. And it should be noted that one of the main reasons for it to be such a broken disaster at launch was the overly ambitious aims of the dev. As an Assassins Creed game I would rate the product when completely fixed to be better than Black Flag but I think Black Flag was a better overall game. Good vid
Imma have to give it to unity. Black flag is a great game but unity’s parkour is way better and I love the stealthiness in it. But I do agree that black flag does have the better combat and I love the ship combat as well.
As much as I enjoy black flag, I feel like it could have been its own game without all the Assassin’s Creed stuff thrown in it. Unity, however, does feel like a solid Assassin’s Creed game, focusing heavily on the stealth and parkour mechanics, making you feel like…well…an assassin. Sure it was a little weak story wise but it really didn’t matter when it comes to overall gameplay.

Never was really into the series until I played Revelations, your content has made me like Assassin's Creed way more(bar anything after origins)
When I was younger I didn’t really like ac black flag a lot, but back then I also didn’t really like pirates. Since I recently replayed black flag I now really like the story. But the co-op and setting of ac unity is so fun. Co-op if it was polished it would be amazing. I also really like the mayan assassin’s in black flag. Now that I’ve played black flag, freedom cry and rogue i’m kind of burnt out of the naval combat. So for me ac unity wins by not a huge amount. Unity would crush if there was more effort put in to the story and polished all of it. IMO respect every ones opinion. Keep up the good work my mentor Assassin.
Black flsg for parkour and combat, setting and plot, but unity for map design and how its made for parkour specifically
I used to disregard AC4 because of its emphasis on naval exploration and combat, but finally played it during the pandemic and enjoyed it. It's not my favorite AC game, but I'm glad I can finally say it's a good game instead of downright ignoring it.
Unity is my preference as I thought Paris was a joy to run around in. I remember that game clicking for me and couldn't believe people hated it. I even thought the present stuff was interesting running around WW2 and doing those rifts where it felt like an escape room type challenge. It's disappointing that the game got a bad rap where Ubisoft changed course, but I grew to appreciate the new games too. I guess I'm not a hard person to please. I kind of enjoy all the games really and just like some more than others.
I think Unity suffered from the hype leading up to the release, the expectations were set so high from all the trailers and gameplay demos. The game felt like it was missing that unique touch, which was exemplified by the start menu. When you’ve just loaded up an ac game that menu should set the tone for what’s to come, revelations, black flag and Valhalla are probably my favourite ones.
While most people thought black flag would be the worst game in the series at that point in time (kinda strange looking back it had similar expectations to odyssey lol) but after people played it, it surprised them how good gameplay and narrative wise it was. For me Black Flag is top 3 and Unity is probably mid tier out of the AC series, but that is my opinion.

Only thing I don't like about unity's parkour is how Arno does these jumps and leaps that don't look right or possible
It’s really inconsistent as well. Why can he jump this 20 foot gap but not this 15 feet one? Why can he jump up to this ledge but can’t jump up to this shorter one? Why does he auto swing on this rope but lands on this one instead?
Thing is I love the parkour more in Unity but it just lacks locations. Feels like everywhere most the buildings are the same.
Each island in Black flag was unique.
But the main problem i have with Unity is that for me personally it killed it from being an actual pretty good game because it didn't have the notoriety system like the previous ones had. It feels like on Unity you have to run 3 blocks just to fight like 3 guards which sucks
I love unity parkour system so much! It’s what made me get that game over the other games in the series.
Unity has the best gameplay out of all AC games in the entire series. The graphics, parkour, customization options. A lot of people didn't like the story and i just never understood why. Overall, it is very ahead of its time and is just more enjoyable to play (for me).

I prefer Unity honestly. I like the setting and gameplay better. I love that you are an actual assassin in the game and I actually love Arno as a protagonist. It's my favorite Assassin's Creed game to this day.

It was such a cool deal getting to download both these games for free when buying the Xbox One. That's how I was introduced to the assassins creed series and since then I've played all 12 main games and their dlcs along with Liberations (still finishing Valhalla's Siege of Paris dlc).
I've never played freedom cry even tho i love adewale. How is that one in your opinion?

@@fire-typhoon123 It's pretty much playing more of Black Flag. I wish the story was longer and the open world was bigger but I enjoyed following Adewale and there are fun new weapons to use.
I know its an unpopular opinion but Valhalla is my favorite followed by Origins and Black Flag. I went in to Valhalla with no hype or expectations and just had a blast when I played it.
Black Flag is amazing though. It's pretty much the perfect Pirate game. Unity was a ton of fun too. It's not one of my top games but I still love it. It still looks amazing these days and Paris was beautiful. It really felt like a next gen title when it came out to me.
Both Assassin's Creed Unity and Assassin's Creed Black Flag are fantastic games, but in my opinion, it ultimately comes down to personal preference.
Unity offers a beautifully recreated Paris during the French Revolution, with a more focused story and refined parkour mechanics. Meanwhile, Black Flag takes players to the Caribbean during the Golden Age of Piracy, offering a massive open world to explore and some of the best naval combat in the series.
Personally, I lean more towards Black Flag for its vast and immersive world, memorable characters, and incredible soundtrack. However, Unity's attention to detail in its setting and improved gameplay mechanics can't be overlooked.
Ultimately, both games have their strengths and weaknesses, and it's up to each individual player to decide which one they prefer.
i played both and i like black flag more because of its mechanics freedom and the activities u can do in the game.
for the records of my ideal of view, there are some points that good and bad for these both games:
good:
story:
1. edward story is not about his greed for riches, in truth he just want to make money to which point that can have support his life, wife and daughter. thing is not just want he has, he want the best thing in life that make him not to look poor or get him sick, if i remember correctly edward childhood was pretty tragic, not just poor but also loose people he loved for ( may be his parents or brothers or sisters, i dont know, if i'm wrong then sorry )
2. may be arnold story is about just for revenged and love elise but thing of this way, he lost both father and adopt father which lead him only has elise, who is both childhood lover and sister. they both grew up and have wonderful time after his father murdered infront of his eyes. so yeah when his adopt father died, he considered him not just like his father but also his guidance to his adulthood. in other words, they are his second family. of course he can be arrogant and his purpose when he joined the assassin just for revenge, but if you were him and put in that situation, will you want to revenge and bring justice for the one you loved? more than that, when he lose elise too, he realised that he didnt have any one he cared and loved for but only the assassin, it will be perfect sense that the creed is he only family left, he decided to grow up and do what he can to protect this family.
gameplay and graphics:
1. edward has some major point when compare to arnold: a ship which has a lot of fire power, 2 family on his side ( the crew and the assassins ). nice amount of parkour and great graphic of texture.
2. arnold has a lot of kind of gears, skills, and a home which are both a cafe and personal mansion, realistic npcs, perfect parkour like the real life one and true history of world monuments.
bad:
1. edward may be has a great story but it lacks details like the after he joined the British assassin, parkour may look great but its not realistic, too easy gameplay and finally is lack of arsenal not like arnold.
2. arnold story is too short, a lot of annoying and some funny bugs when climb and running parkour, npcs are also bug as hell, and finally is combat a little bit hard, like a bug when fighting belec it has annoy glitch which very hard for pass the memory.
that is all of my view, so if you see something wrong, feel free to comment. about my view which game is better then i will say is neither, which both are good and bad of its own, its matter of your perspective so dont judge me.
My favorite ac game is syndicate but between black flag and unity I definitely like black flag more
Black Flag. Still this to day, 10 years since its release
I think that Black Flag is the overall better game. I have 4 100% playthroughs of it, it was my first real gaming experience and it will always hold a special place in my heart. But I have to say that the polished version of Unity is by far the best AC game out there. The map design, the graphics and gameplay systems. Nothing has been close to catching the Assassin fantasy as well as this game!
Let's be honest, who really remember the story of unity? I think almost no one, I can remember like 2 characters at most, but the story of Black Flag is completely unique (also the ship mechanics) though if you want a modern funny gameplay experience Unity is a good option
I admit that I had high hopes for Unity, but I'm afraid that it didn't ensnared me like the previous games did. It might be because I didn't get to play it properly until years after the release, or maybe I was too stuck in medieval history and the pirate era, to fully embrace France during the revolution. It might even have been the transit to a new modern protagonist, but neither Unity or Syndicate were my cup of tea.
I own both and love both equally. Currently playing Origins and I’m really loving it

I prefer Black Flag, though, I love the improvements Unity made and wish the story was a bit better with more French Revolution parts.
I enjoyed Syndicate though I hated that crouching was reduced to the stealth button and it was tied to the hood so I had stealth on all the time. I also hate the lack of weapon variety and the continuous punching system.
They both deserve sequels tbh

I think it comes down to this. Unity improved on the fundamentals of AC (combat, stealth, movement) while Black Flag added a bunch of content and exploration. People liked Unity cuz it made them feel more like an assassin while Black Flag made them feel like they can do anything and go anywhere

Just finished them both back-to-back and the answer is blackflag. Admittedly i hate sailing in AC games, but as far as story, characters, parkour, responsive combat, and fun activities Black Flag wins. Unity is only cool for customizing genuinely, you can be neither bold nor stealthy without being forced to use smokebombs Unity was BAD.
Same with me, played unity about 3-4 months ago and finished Black Flag last week (played both for the first time). I had to force myself to finish the main story of Unity, it was truly painfully boring and frustrating. Overall probably like a 3/10 game, despite the great visuals it just wasn't fun and it's not like there's much else to do besides the main story. Black Flag is an amazing game, a few flaws though, but still amazing. I'd probably rate it like a 9/10. I would've liked that story to be just a bit longer/less rushed and with about 75% less tailing missions.
I love both games! Both are fun and exciting to play but the repetitive tailing missions in Black Flag can be a bit too much. I love the side content of Black flag because there is so much to do. Unity on the other hand, Paris as an open world is amazing, as well as the side content (never played Dead Kings, trying to work on that). I belive that both games should win just because on how awesome the games were.
As someone who has 200+ hours of gameplay on these two games on steam. I can't possibly decide the winner they both really awesome time killers in their own way

Both are great and unique games and have their respective strong points, but I would say Black Flag wins for me because of naval combat and being more immersive, while I enjoy Unity's settings of French Revolution and improved graphics. Also would love to hear your opinions on Forgotten Temple

Honestly both games are really different so it’s hard to compare and compete them against each other but honestly Unity is really something special, phantom blad, best parkour, all assassins outfits. But black flag is also good with its own way adventuring on every island and treasure hunting and having your own boat.

I find it easier to replay Unity than Black Flag, due to the much better basics like stealth and traversal. Black Flag seems a bit too heavy story wise and content wise to replay

Unity has a special place for me. Even when it was buggy I didn't mind. What I don't get is how they could not recycle this games' animations and physics in Mirage - probably the Valhalla Engine was the obvious choice with limitations.

That is also a tough decision for me. I cannot decide if black flag is number 3 on my list and unity 4, or vice versa. I honestly enjoyed unity a bit more, than black flag as well.

Your playing order is pretty much worst to best lol (animations and graphics are the best in unity)
Black Flag I would say is better in terms of story, cast of characters, having addicting ship combat, music, modern day, assassination confessions, and the color palette (Black Flag's color palette is more shiny while Unit's color palette is more muddy). Also whistling is better for luring enemies than cherry bombs and the outfit for completing the Mayan puzzles in Black Flag is better than the outfit for doing the Paris riddles in Unity.
Unity is better in terms of hand to hand combat (enemies are challenging while Black Flag's enemies are too easy), stealth, climbing mechanics, side missions, customization, mission structure (black box beats tailing missions), and DLC.
Open world wise both games are great. Paris is better city wise and the Caribbean is better setting wise.
I do wish Black Flag had less tailing missions, the modern day was in third person and felt important, enemies were more challenging, and there was more side missions like the Templar Hunts. And with Unity I would have preferred the story been about Arno hunting Shay, more of the cast were memorable, and enemies didn't always shoot at me.
Otherwise, both games are great and some of the best in the series along with the Ezio trilogy, Origins, and Syndicate.

Going from Odyssey to black flag made me not like the boat combat as much

First, you elide over the fact of Unity being one of the most broken launch's in the history of gaming. As I recall, it needed a day one patch that was bigger than the game itself to render it almost playable. That being said the dev's should get credit for sticking with the game and making an excellent game. And it should be noted that one of the main reasons for it to be such a broken disaster at launch was the overly ambitious aims of the dev. As an Assassins Creed game I would rate the product when completely fixed to be better than Black Flag but I think Black Flag was a better overall game. Good vid

Imma have to give it to unity. Black flag is a great game but unity’s parkour is way better and I love the stealthiness in it. But I do agree that black flag does have the better combat and I love the ship combat as well.

As much as I enjoy black flag, I feel like it could have been its own game without all the Assassin’s Creed stuff thrown in it. Unity, however, does feel like a solid Assassin’s Creed game, focusing heavily on the stealth and parkour mechanics, making you feel like…well…an assassin. Sure it was a little weak story wise but it really didn’t matter when it comes to overall gameplay.

In an older assassins creed video you had you talked about how you dont mind odyssey and kassandra. But not with all of youtube and the assassins creed communtiy hating kassandra you quickly change your mind to hating kassandra. In a video comparing ac origins and ac odyssey you gave origins 26 out of 30 and odyssey 21 out of 30 showing that they are pretty close. You have said that origins is one of the better games and you also say odyssey is one of the worst. Personally i think you changed your mind on what you think of the games because the communtiy doesnt like odyssey. A bit of a yes man move. But i am still a fan of you and your content.
