This was a fun movie that wasn't trying to take itself too serious. If you're for whatever reason expecting a cinematic masterpiece, sure, you'll be disappointed. With proper expectations, it's a treat to watch.

I agree. Even better, it matches the pace that real fights move at. Instead of adrenaline-speed or extra cuts that slow-down the pace, the audience is rendered amazed and stunned alongside the characters. And the choreography is clear as day, enough to pick-up what's going on without 1-second behind every move.
As a matter of fact, a slap can hurt much more than a punch. A punch numbs the tissue, while a slap gives a sharp sensation all over the place the hand landed. You have to learn to deal with that!
Great movie all around, packed with action and fun. Everyone wants an Inception level of complexity in every movie instead of enjoying simple entertainment JG and Connor were awesome.
Man, those last three bareknuckle punches to the temple could have done real damage. From a pro fighter, that could be fatal. Dalton HAD to have been pulling those hits.
Darn right. Choosing there to set this remake is one of the best decisions the writers made. It renders the film a tad less fantastical for the 2020's. That, and having Connor McGregor as a bombastic antagonist. I've found some commenters that claim he should have been the hero, but McGregor's personality...playing to his strengths would not click well as a cool/collected homage to the original Dalton (Patrick Swayze). So, they had him as a wild foil to Dalton, both Swayze and Gyllenhaal. Brilliant
I enjoyed the movie for what it was. It was a mixed bag. This fight scene, for example, was good and well done. The movie was better than a lot of stuff out there.

They really should have made this it's own movie and left Roadhouse alone. It wasn't as bad as I expected it to be and I actually enjoyed the movie as a whole but it's not even in the same league as the Original

I'm from Chicago and the Midwest we like fighting...last time I went to jail my mom said don't call me and I didn't. It wasn't for anything violent or sexual. Word of advice....it's he quiet dog in the room you gotta be worried about.
The least realistic part was that the band was actually pretty good! I would like to go there. The singer's mic technique was a bit off but you can't have everything...

Totally agree. The climax ended in a fart. The plot really took a shit by the third act. When he walked away from Knox and Knox just basically let him walk away. But then Knox is hell bent on tracking down Dalton in the next act..literally made no sense to me. I was like wtf. Idk who wrote that part. But it was terrible. And then the main chick he rescues. Basically just dips out on him after he saves her ass. The whole 3rd act I was like wtf. None of this makes sense.
yea. Actors actually delivered very well. The director just went crazy and shit the bed at the end. That whole boat fight and scene in the 3rd act should have been cut and tidied up. Director/producer legit really fcked this movie over. Even conor delivered an incredible performance ie a crazy fighter who is not of this world(the local mafia world) who is a wildcard like garbage man from the stand. And conor did seem out of place and wildcard like because hes not an actor. Legit everything was coming together pferfect and then just over the top michael ba shit after shift
