Longchamp. They last forever, are fine in rain, snow, etc., great price point AND it’s the brand of choice for Parisians so incredibly chic.

I need to bring my laptop/textbooks to work. So my work bags have to be durable, lightweight, and spacious. I have several Long champ bags for work: The Black City bag you showed, and two leather totes (one with the bamboo closure and another I don’t the name). They are so easy to use. Highly recommend!

DB's styling is so distinctive, with the tan leather trim, and the bags are so ubiquitous it's hard to miss a DB, in my opinion. I own a bunch of them, so no disparagement on the designs intended, but they are distinctive! Their Alto line are more subdued, though.
Nice! I love the Mulberry Bayswater (classic Heritage) as a work bag (fits laptop). My current favorite is a budget bag, the Fossil Charlie shopper (zippered middle compartment for laptop).

Have you looked at the Bobobark from Laflore? I’m intrigued by the smaller Bebebark. The lightweight cork sounds good as leather bags can get so heavy.
Great suggestions! I think the Loewe Puzzle bags also fit in this category. I wear mine to work almost every day. It's my everyday carry. People who aren't into luxury bags won't know what it is just by looking at it. There's one small logo embossed on it, but unless you know the brand, you don't know what it is. It's not big enough to carry a bunch of stuff. But it's really cute and goes with almost everything even on the days where you dress down.
May I add the brand Hammitt? Very nice quality and some great work bags.

You have some great options! You might also have a look at Tod’s and Ferragamo for high quality work totes with no obvious branding. Good luck in your job search!

I really like Aspinal bags. I have three and I am itching to get another trunk bag. And their Camera Bags have fully consoled me for missing out on the Gucci disco bag! I would like the London Tote but the small one is a little too small and the big one has no shoulder strap. Sigh! Thank you for the video!

I just bought two Fendi peekaboo bags from the real real in the 2011 collection with a fendi Zucca interior. Both for under $600.
One of them was in perfect condition the other one I had to have repainted and conditioned which I was OK with because it was white so of course white is going to be damaged but I’m in love I’m actually looking for the black one now and then I’m done with the 2011 collection. I bought five bags from tge 2011 collection it’s my favorite year

LOVE this video. I’m also on the hunt for the perfect laptop-holding designer bag. I love the Longchamp City bag! Although I think they come in the new coated canvas. I haven’t seen any full-leather versions myself!
Hi Autumn. Oregon is a low-key state and Portland as a city especially. There will be leather crafters in Portland who will have bags on sale at the Sunday market. Why not buy something when you get there? Best of luck! The Pacific Northwest is a lovely place to live. 👍🤗
The Longchamp city bags are coated canvas, not leather. 😊 only the straps and the flap is leather.
And I bought my Roseau at Longchamp while their sale what’s 2-4 times a year 🎉
PS: it rains a lot here in the Pacific Northwest, you might want something water proof instead of leather.

At my prior job at a finance firm, I had to remove my two Cartier rings every day before coming in at one point before quitting.
The firm’s owner’s wife came in to surprise her husband once and I opened the door for her. His wife got upset that a 23-yr old had Cartier and her husband had never gifted her Cartier so the owner told me not to wear jewelry…

Hi Autumn - I had the Antigona and absolutely LOVED it - however, last year I had to attend a conference in San Antonio and the closest Hotel to the SA convention center was 4 blocks away. I had to walk with my Antigona and it became VERY heavy to the point of being uncomfortable...as a result I sold it and bought something else...I still miss it but the weight was a big issue for me.

Love this topic. Currently using my Gucci Diamanté Tote in brown leather. I also use an LV Epi Neverfull in fuchsia in warmer months.
The le pliage in neo is my go to work bag. I stopped caring about quiet luxury in the workplace because my accessories are the one area where I like to splurge. If people notice it, oh well. I just wear what feels good at the time.

Great choices! The large peekaboo is big, I think it’s 15 inches wide. But it’s also a very heavy bag and the side compartments don’t really open up too wide so it may be cumbersome with carrying a laptop. I have a love affair for the medium peekaboo but don’t need to carry that much anymore so it would work fine for me. 💕
So what i am wondering now is... how r u gonna move with all those bags? Im at 80 and will be moving next year and dont have a game plan, would love to get some advice and tricks :) i am avoiding to sell... but have no idea how to go about it.
I'll likely sell quite a few before moving, put some in boxes for movers to take, and carefully pack the most delicate and expensive ones for us to take on our cross-country road trip.
Did you see the video Tanner Leatherstein did on the Teddy Blake bags? Left a sour taste in my mouth and feeling good that they are always on sale. Great design and craftsmanship, sub-par leather treated with a plastic coating to look pebbled. As someone who values leather quality, I feel duped, though it is also true that my most beautiful bag is the 9” Ava in Blue Jeans/silver hardware. I have 3 TB bags and cannot bring myself ever to buy from him again. I don’t expect Tory Burch leather to be great quality, which is why I am quite happy with my Lee Radziwill Cat Eye Bag, which I definitely bought for the look, and thankfully, mine was new, half off on Poshmark. My other Tory Burch is a tote, and I love it because I can use it even in light, light rain and it holds everything from laptop to a quart of milk.
My main issue with bigger bags is needing to empty them out to find anything. If I could buy organizers, I would, but that adds up. So I often prefer a small crossbody and a leather backpack.
I think if you commute to work and literally just tote your stuff to work and back, a big bag is fine, but if you live in a city and carry it around with you every day, dipping your hand into a cavern can be very frustrating if all you want is your Purell or a lipstick.
As I recall, Tanner drew similar conclusions about LV epi leather and Chanel caviar. Apparently, it's common practice.

Thanks for sharing your input! I think I’ll lean towards the Le Pliage or maybe even the Brian Blackwood bag for some visual interest (never thought of the brand until you mentioned it). Knowing me, I’ll need one with zipper closure because I’m a clutz and fear items will scatter out…I’m not trying to have a yard sale from my spilled items LOL!

Fashion comes in waves. Now that logo mania and show off branding is out of style, as the recession bites harder , more discreet luxury is suddenly in vogue again. I always liked Epi leather and Taiga, and other non logo splattered leather goods from LV and other more refine brands like Berluti, Delvaux, and yes, ironically even Hermes before the Kelly and birkin became so over hyped tho

Great topic. I like the offerings from The Cambridge Satchel Company (you really have to like a satchel look though) and Strathberry as well. Much as I like a bold statement bag from time to time, the understated stuff is really nice for day to day as well.

I am an elderly woman with a bad back, these bags are heavy for me. Can you tell me about light bags or a backpack?
I bought my mother a Vera Bradley quilted fabric bag because she didn't want a heavy purse as she aged. That and her black nylon bag were go-to's. The Bradley bag prints can be a bit loud but they make solid colors too.
