Helo Peter! I have an Interceptor 650 and going to change for the 450 when it arrives in Brazil. Probaly in 3 months, i love the 650, but i want something that i can go everywhere, and for the price, i think the 450 is the best of all. Its funny that i have seen all channels you recomended, and now i found yours.
Going to subscribe to keep watching your videos and news about the 450. Tks a lot!

Hey good job on review I’m looking forward to fixing my New Himalayan up as a Arizona dealer a couple of hours away started carrying them so I bought one thanks for your time into showing me the products available. I myself need a lowering kit as it’s to tall for me right now. Thank you

Hey Peter, Congrats on the bike! I too like you picked up one of these over the winter. I haven't had good enough weather to break it in but I did get about 100 miles on it so far and am looking forward to many more. I'm a former 411 owner. Even though I have other bikes, after I sold the 411 I couldn't be without a Himalayan so I picked up the new model. I'm looking forward to your adventures. Consider me subscribed. I have also been tinkering with the windscreen and picked up a WRS CAPONORD WINDSCREEN. Unfortunately, It's not working well for me and introduced a ton of buffeting. I added a PUIG 2.0 to the top and only when it's fully extended does it help, there is still some slight buffeting but I think if I rode with my top visor off it would go away, but it's grip on the thinner screen seems iffy. I'm learning fast that with most of these adventure bikes a taller screen is not always better. I also have a Vstrom 800DE and have been tinkering with the touring screen and a PUIG 2.0. That setup seems to work much better than the Himi with a taller screen and the Puig 2.0 but it's still nowhere near as good as a more touring bike like a Moto Guzzi v85TT travel. So regardless, I'll probably run the short screen and limit my road miles and maybe trailer my bike to the riding areas. Time will tell. I also installed a Wanslo 45L top box off amazon I picked up on black friday for like $100. I thought about getting the same one as Fuzzy biker but decided to go cheap for running around. If I do a trip I can quickly pull it off and install some tusk soft bags I have. But the top box is money for ripping around town. Mine came with a mounting plate which I opted to install right onto the stock plastic rack by drilling 4 small holes. It actually worked out very well. Although mine is slightly more forward than yours and will slightly interfere with a passenger but I never have one so it doesn't matter. Thanks for the links to other youtubers at the end of your video. I will definitely check them out. There are a few I've never seen before. Good luck and stay safe on your travels.

Thanks for watching and for the subscription. I'm hitting my first service within the next week (as long as temps stay above freezing here). I've never had any windscreen totally protect me from wind buffeting, but my Puig screen on my BMW R1200RS comes closest. On an adventure bike, it's always a compromise between size and off-roadability. I'll probably put the small screen back on for my more adventurous riding. At least it's easy to swap.

@@RetiredAdventureRider Yeah I agree, you have to sacrifice somewhere. This summer I plan to use my Himalayan on the Michigan MCCCT trail with those Shinko E804/805 tires. It's mostly sand, we'll see how they do.

Hey Peter, interesting video of your ideas and changes so far. I'm in Thailand, was riding a Honda 300 CRF for a bit, now heading to Vietnam to ride a 150 cc from South to North. While I've been here I discovered a TH-cam creator Joe Ryan. His Vietnam series starts with a brand new Himalayan 450. He is an awesome camera man and makes really entertaining videos. You really should check it out. Only a few episodes of the Vietnam adventure out so far but he is loving the bike and I am loving the series. Cheers friend,

Thank you. I'm aware of that series and I've seen an episode. My step-sons have ridden the 150 in Vietnam and really enjoyed it. Better than the BC winter. Have fun!

Greetings from another Peter on the Sunshine (Wet) Coast. Good info. Thanks very much. I'm contemplating switching to either the Himalyan 450 or the CF Moto 450 Ibex.
I'm glad you mentioned the issues with getting accessories. I imagine if they're hard to find for the Himalayan they'd be even harder to find for the CF Moto.
I saw your video about going to Victoria to buy the bike. May I ask why you chose to go to Victoria, given that the Himalayan is available in the Lower Mainland? Is there something better about the dealer in Vic?
    Thanks

I had the same thoughts about the CF Moto. I put a deposit down at the Vancouver dealer in July, which was the first possible day (so my mind was pretty much made up for a long time, but in fact I wavered a lot between the Himalayan and the KTM 390, especially after a couple of used ones came on the market). After waiting for six months for the bikes to come to Canada, I was impatient, and the Victoria dealer had a bike available first. I wanted to get it done before Christmas, so the trip to Victoria was worth it. Unfortunately, I missed my ferry out of Nanaimo by minutes, which led to missing the connection in Horseshoe Bay, and catching the last ferry, which made for a very long day. I'm sure you know the experience.

@@RetiredAdventureRider Thanks for the thoughtful videos keep them coming.
I have a deposit on the CF450 at a shop on the island but i got a test ride of the Himmy and also rented one for the day here in Thailand. I lived the bike a lot. I liked the bottom end and the suspension was great lots of well thought out details on the Himmy.
However your newest video has me mulling it over regarding the service costs.
I did nearly 50 thousand km on a Honda Rally 250 down here and actually have a NX500 now in Thailand but the HM452 hits that sweet spot to me. It is a relaxed easy to ride bike i can ride in ten lower RPM range easily i find.
Not too big [feels smallish to me and not heavy] but doesnt get blown around on the highway.
Kind of a nice dual sport crossed with a ADV bike.
Im not sure about paying the dealer for a warranty i might expire the first year since i plan on riding all season in BC in 2025.
I need to try the CF450 when i get back in March. If its actually showing up with all the tarriff talk. It seems to have suspension and throttle issues so theres that but a longer 5 year warranty and better service intervals for the valves but still also has 5000km service required. I will check costs there and compare with the RE.
Maybe the make their money on the service portion rather than sales these days.
Thanks subscribed and watching for updates and congrats on a nice bike!

Veridian Cruise (a Canadian company) has Royal Enfield listed on their website, but no products to sell. I take that to mean that they're currently developing a cruise control module for the brand. And what other bike would it go on than the the Himalayan 450?
That, for me, would be a game changer, and completely sell me on the concept of this bike. It is already near the top of my list anyway.
    Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for pointing that out. Cruise control would be a great addition for road trips. I use it all the time on my BMW.
