Yeah exactly; people who walk forward and get hit with their chin in the air have no chance of making it into the top 15. Looking at someone like Gaethje, it's no wonder he's never beaten any top 15 fighters - he gets hit way too much... Or wait no he's actually in the top 5 now after many fights that could've left him flatlined. You read way too far into a debut. And he was getting hit with the harder shots for that time, too. Commentary even pointed out how having your hands low is a style with pros and cons, they weren't really all that biased.
Man, when Paddy shot the single leg, got him against the cage and kicked behind Luigi's knee to collapse him was fucking badass. I don't know if I've ever seen anyone do it like that before.
True!! And hurting that leg was the key to Paddy's win. Luigi stumped around after that and you can see that leg giving out just before Paddy's flurry of punches that finished the fight.
Petr Yan
He bulldogged him I noticed it as well.
Literally the vast majority of grapplers do that to get their opponents down
You can't of been watching ufc long then
Watching his fights again before next saturday. Dude has a great personality, fights like a warrior and hopefully will be the one to surpass McGregor entertainment wise for the UFC
He is a liar and an idiot, he was complaining about ariel helwani making money off fighters to dana white, the irony. Hope he gets humbled on Saturday but probably not hw is being given another easier opponent
He’s not gonna surpass Conor lol
Well that aged poorly!!!
Conor would wash the mat with that mop head
@@El_pedro81 This comment aged like fine cheese, rotting on a window sill.
He was definitely nervous and a little slow to start with it being the big leagues but once he warmed up and calmed down he showed his quality and smashed the lad
His opponent was going all out and Paddy had to just temper it a little bit.
bruh patty wont make it out of the first round against anyone top 10 if he doesn't work on his defense

Paddy has a LONG LONG way to go, the majority of the guys in the top 15 could finish this kid. There could be a chance that Even fighting a unranked fighters could possibly end him, bc there's always 1 or 2 unranked fighters that are really good but under the radar.
You just want to see him fail for no other reason than you disliking him. People have had far worse debuts and he came out on top with a nice ko.
I agree
Adrian Yanez would piece him up 💯
@@djhcyeuxjhw i'm sorry, but was this Gaethje here getting rocked and taken down by a rando, or was it Pimblett?
@@final58fant58 Yanez is a bantamweight 😂
“He’s gotta keep his chin down from the air “ eats a mean right hook like nothing 🤣🤣
Killer instinct. When he shot in at that moment he realized he could just Rush it to the end with overwhelming attack.
Great job Paddy. You gotta like this kid. I'm behind him 100%, and I think he's got a bright future here in the big leagues. I'm guessing a lot of people have their foot in their mouth after this great debut.
He is entertaining and mixes it up good but LW is a really tough division. I don't see him beating any guys in the top ten. His grappling looks good against these guys in cage warriors but against the top LW's he is getting subbed. Then the holes in defense on the feet I see him getting KO's by any of the good strikers too. Still I hope he does well. I'd be happy to eat my words.
@@mrjuse5470 facts
@@mrjuse5470 hope he can take some lessons from this fight. I can't imagine it's a great idea to rely on being able to take hits like that hook in the long term. Best of luck to him, (kinda reluctantly, because feels like all the people I cheer on lose) excited to see him fight more :D
Connor would destroy Paddy is 30 seconds game over . He’s not taking Connors punches . Let’s see if you are still behind him next fight when he gets ktfo
He would get wrecked by the top guys rn imo
At 2:03, Cormier says: "Look how comfortable Luigi is." 4:32, we see how comfortable Luigi is laying there.🤣
that recovery after eating that huge shot was literally Romero level of recovery
You cant compare yet. His rival aint a roided massive brazilian
Agree 👍 especially when Luigi had him on the ground trying to finish him you see the elite ground defense.
Paddy found another gear at the end of this fight. The last 20 seconds are absolutely insane! 😳
I was really impressed with Luigi in this fight. I don’t really think Paddy will have much a great future in the UFC with the way that he strikes...
@Craig G cage warriors and UFC are completely different levels, top 15 UFC lightweights will spark this kid unconscious if he doesn't change his defensive striking
@Craig G The average fighter in cage warriors vs UFC are incomparable in terms of talent. That's not to say CW doesn't have good fighters.
Bro what, his kicks are super technical, he has power and a great ground game. He just needs to tighten up the defence…
Just sit back and enjoy. Dont get yo panties twisted when paddy becomes king of lw
@@rekanpayne6606 Unless paddy improves his striking insanely he is not beating top prospects in LW atm. Fiziev, arman, islam all of them are insanely talented and skilled. But well never know. He is still green.
This fight is one of the rare ones that is even more exciting to watch the second time.
Yep, I recommend watching it muted. Distracts a lot from the action as they kept mentioning his chin and nothing else. Pretty nice kicking game for a grappler
Best UFC fight and debut I've seen in a while. I'm a fan of Paddy, and thought he was done. Vendramini is a great fighter, too!
Lies again? Umbro Fila

That left hook was fucking insane and he just fucking ate it..... two amazing fighters

I can feel Luigi’s punches through the screen.
Now that was a fight! Man that was brutal! Hearts of warriors in that ring.
That "he was under an avalanche" line was so good, he needed to say it 3 times 😂
Props the Luigi, he has good moves!
He simply could keep his early pace up to match Paddy's physicality. Paddy was cruising for the whole fight until he stepped it up a gear.
@George Washington go preach somewhere else, this is mma not politics
there's a reason why Luigi isn't a heavy underdog. Dana did the right move to give Paddy a hard debut to prove himself that he's not just all hype.
Props to Paddy for knocking his lights out!
04:50 iconic Paddy
Paddy vs Luigi sounds like how someone from the 50s would describe an international conflict involving Ireland and Italy

Losing?
You must be joking. Having a big rush over and over and then burning out does not mean a fighter almost won a fight.
Watch it on mute, it wasn't all that way first 4 minutes. Paddy was landing some kicks and waiting for Luigi to be in range
Paddy has a crazy chin in multiple ways: crazy tough, and also crazy high!
His hands were low and his chin was high, but hey. He’s 26 and has time. He definitely has potential. Not to mention he had a huge amount of hype in his UFC debut, jitters had to have been substantial.
Paddy wasn’t even really rocked by that punch either, he ate it. Look at his legs, he was pretty much fine.

He might be like a Charles Oliveira type who improves with each loss, I'm expecting him to pick up several losses and lose his hype but he's so motivated and committed I think he's here for the long run. We'll see though
You can tell he's missing alittle of the experience, but man he's a fighter and when he turned it on he looked ferocious.
He has over 20 professional fights? I'd say he's experienced, just not champion material
Paddy has one hell of an arsenal
But needs to work on his basics
Other than that he is real deal ..hits like a tank and has a granite jaw..
My only fear is his lack of rudimentary skill like his stance and chin position could cost him an unexpected knockout
